Good call - which reminds me: American History X. I felt like curling up and dying after watching the end of that film.

Post Your Mug
I've got a Starbucks mug that my sis-in-law... errr... borrowed, for me. Rarely use it though, i'm not one for hot drinks.

I might not agree with you on a lot of things but you just picked out 3 of my favourite movies of all time. Not many people mention Heat or The Boondock Saints, but they're both awesome films.

I'd agree with all that. The mate i was talking about has been playing guitar since he was about 10 (so 12 years), and is well versed in pretty much all styles of playing. Not only that, he knows how to set his kit up to get the sound he wants, and he won't buy shabby equipment. Personally, i liked the pedal, but you do have to tweak it quite a bit to get a really nice sound. Another alternative is MXR. They make pretty high quality pedals if you don't mind spending a bit more than you would for a Boss or Ibanez.

Here's a pic of my amp, and one of my guitars. I don't have my pedals set up yet because i just moved house, but i'll get a pic of it all soon.

School gets sued for sexual orientation discrimination
If she didn't want her parents knowing she's a rug muncher, it's hardly the best idea to be tounging a girl at school really, is it? Surely any court would throw this out?

Christmas gifts?
I didn't get many presents this year, mainly because i asked people not to buy me anything, but anyways: A shoulder bag from my bro and sis-in-law Some money, and things for my house from my parents Candles, a pictureframe, and an optic from my best friend.

lol how many of us actually still play RS?
I haven't played properly for a good couple of years. Since then i've logged in maybe 3 or 4 times, but never levelled or anything like that. I was never really into RS too much even when i was playing - my character was something like 52 combat, the highest non combat skill i had was about level 50.

School gets sued for sexual orientation discrimination
As far as i can see this girl has an issue with the school telling her parents about her sexuality, but i fail to see how she can sue them for this? Her actions went against school policy, and her parents were informed. I can't see that as being any different than if she were to break any other rule - the school would still inform her parents of the details, regardless of the rule she broke.

Best solo ever?
I don't know why so many people chose Eruption. Yes it's impressive, but it's all tapping - once you get down the rythym it's easy. I'm not sure i can really pick out what i think is the best solo ever, although if i did it would probably be in a Pantera song.

Depends what you're after i guess. A mate of mine got an MT2 for xmas and he loves it, but he plays a lot of thrashy, downtuned metal.

Training my fingers?
Just practise scales and patterns that require using your pinky a lot. Practise really is the only way, unless you fancy getting a gripmaster.

2005 : A Year In Review, and the future? / Resolutions?
Hmmmm, pretty big year for me. 8th Jan: Went snowboarding in Andorra with 3 of my closest friends, had an absolute blast and we're going again on the same date in 2006. 3rd March: Turned 21, got absolutely hammered. Bought a new car. June: Went to the Download festival, came back and went off to Glastonbury a couple of weeks later. December: Moved into a house on my own (this was 6 days ago) and i'm really enjoying it. In between all that, there's a few gigs i've been to (Trivium, Lamb of God, Devildriver, Still Remains, 3 Inches Of Blood, Oasis, The Zutons), and i've also spent time visiting friends at Unis in Reading, London, and Plymouth. As far as resolutions go, i'm not sure i have many, other than keeping everything in order, paying all my bills on time and not having to sell my house :P

Guitar Progress
That, and they have one of the worst drummers ever. Besides Weezer's drummer, man they suck. What do you expect Weezer's drummer to do, triplets and lots of double bass? This forum is starting to get on my nerves already, every single discussion just turns into groups of people saying "so and so sucks", because they're so ignorant they can't accept the fact that other people like different things to them. Last time i checked this topic was about helping a beginner play guitar, save your rolleyes for a topic titled "i want to be more of an annoying git, please help". Aside from all that, people are still missing the point about greenday. I suggested them for the very reason you seem to think they "suck" - because their songs are BASIC, because they're EASY TO LEARN. I could start reeling off songs by bands that play technical music, but what's the point? Oh, and for the record, i don't even like Green day. I own none of their records, but i think for what they are they're a good band. That's called being open minded, when you don't necessarily like something, but you realise that it's still good.

Electric Violin
I know nothing about violins, but i would tap Vannessa Mae for sure.
