  1. My alarm tone is the *bang* "oh i'm sorry, did i break your concentration?" from Pulp fiction. I wake up every morning practically soiling myself with fear.
  2. Pretty much any band/artist that had a "1 hit wonder". Stuff like the 'fast food rockers' or the crazy frog.
  3. I'm not sure what kind of reputation i have, on or off the forum. I'm sure it varies from person to person - 1 might think i'm cool whereas someone else will hate me. Edit: Just read that someone (i think MPC) said i have the coolest avatar ever. I must commend you on your taste in comedy films - i've probably watched Super Troopers at least 20 times.
  4. Sorry to stretch the screen, but that's glastonbury festival from above.
  5. Actually, i have to reply to this one. Fair enough. Care to explain how? Smoke weed and you'll feel like sitting down, putting on some music and maybe eating pizza. Drink and you're a mumbling, fighting, puking mess. Many people? Oh then it won't be hard for you to find proof will it? I'll be waiting. I've smoked weed for about 6 years and would never try anything else. Nice try. Yeah you're right, i'm sure the police are quaking in their boots at the prospect of someone smoking a joint and going on a killing rampage. And again i find you distinctly lacking in the facts department. I've said it before on this board, who would you be more afraid of - a drunk driver swerving all over the road and driving over the speed limit, or a stoned guy who's doing 15 mp/h because he feels like he'll go back in time if he goes any faster? I'm not advocating driving under the influence of any substance, i just fail to see the logic in your statement. Making weed legal doesn't mean it would be legal to drive while using it. Well once again, if this is such a regular occurance, you won't have any trouble finding me some proof will you? People might have killed someone while they were high, but not because they were high. That's like saying because one guy who killed someone was wearing a red tie, red ties cause you to become a homicidal maniac. Once again, no proof. So can communion wine. This is about the only thing you've said that makes any sense at all. Seriously, don't make statements like those above unless you're prepared to back them up with facts. Not biased opinions or propaganda, facts.
  6. Exactly what i was going to post after reading the first few replies about people "ODing" on weed. Laughable. At least Anesthesia is intelligent enough to realise that on a subject like this, facts are worth more than biased opinions and propaganda.

    Blink 182

lol @ the size of his kit. And as far as drum solos on moving platforms go, look no further than Mr Jordison: http://www.drummerworld.com/Videos/joeyjordison.html
  8. If you know the context and the way Kevin Spacey said that, you just have to admit that that was damn cool. I even have a song from Pendulum (Jungle-techno) in which that quote appears a few times. That film, and Spacey's performance in particular, is absolutely brilliant.
  9. Updated my original post in this thread. I'd type out all the bands i've seen at the festivals but it really would take me forever to remember and type them all out.
  10. I watched it all go on, and the news reports are really exaggerated. There was a big fire started in our camp which people were throwing cans of gas on (stupid, i know, i wasn't doing it), a fire truck came along, put out the fire and then the firemen let people stand on top of the truck. I didn't see any confrontation or real trouble, it was all in good fun - although i've heard that in other camp sites people were fighting and destroying stuff. As for the bottling, the only bands i saw bottled were Cradle Of Filth (as i passed by) and Funeral For a Friend (before i fell asleep). Guns n Roses got a couple of bottles thrown at them, but that stopped when the bassist said he'd go home if another bottle came his way. Fair enough really. To Oy_the_Great: That festival looks great, although the lineup strikes me as odd because it's so diverse. Deftones and Black Eyed Peas on the same stage isn't something i'd expect to see, but i guess it's good not to have 1 particular genre dominating.
  11. Well for a "diabolical" lineup i sure as hell enjoyed myself. Here's a quick rundown of the bands i saw: Friday: Throwdown, Soil, Strapping Young Lad, Soulfly, Coheed and Cambria, Deftones, Tool. I only watched Coheed and Cambria so i could get a good position to see Deftones (which i did, 6 rows back) and they really really sucked. Deftones were easily the best band of the day, but i guess i'm a little biased because they're my favourite band. Saturday: Devildriver, Alice In Chains, Stone Sour, Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, Korn, Metallica. No disappointments here, except that Jon Davis was ill so Korn had a shorter set with guest vocalists. Alice in chains were unbelievably good, definitely my favourite band of the weekend. Avenged sevenfold surprised me in a good way, and Trivium were actually pretty bad. Sunday: Hatebreed, Dragonforce, 36 Crazyfists, In Flames, Bullet For My Valentine, Guns N' Roses. All excellent except dragonforce - great musicians but power metal really isn't my thing. I could list Funeral For A Friend but i fell asleep halfway through their 3rd song. Guns N' Roses were awesome (with the exception of Axl babbling about crap for a bit too long), but for me 36CF were the best band of the day. Weather was awesome, pear cider tasted great, the bands rocked and i generally had a friggin great time. This was my 3rd year in a row at Download and i'll definitely be making it 4.
  12. I'm heading off for the festival tomorrow morning, anyone else going? Click here for the full lineup.
  13. Lee Evans, easily. I have 5 of his DVD's spanning across about 14 years of his career - funniest stuff i've ever seen.
  14. Thanks :) A friend of mine is playing guitar. We were in a band together before he went to uni, now he's back and we're gonna start writing some new songs.
  15. This thread appears to be missing a key ingredient....
  16. Zero is good, but i think Bullet With Butterfly Wings will always stand out for me as their best.
  17. Yeah you can put a wah between the guitar and the GP, we were workin on some more stuff last night and the pinches definitely sound more defined if you run them through the wah that way. Should be uploading a full track by the end of the week (which will be one of our old songs re-done in a lower tuning), which we've also been working on a pretty fast solo for - plenty of wah and pinched harmonics in that one :P Cheers for all the comments guys, any constructive criticism is helpful. Oh, and incase anyone is interested, i'm using a *cough* slightly dodgy* cough* copy of Cubase SX to record, and a Line6 guitar port to choose guitar tones, as well as any effects. The guitar being used is a Washburn X40pro.
  18. I'm fond of both genres, but i'd have to say you are waaaaaay off there. Compare a ska guitarist with someone like Dimebag, Zakk Wylde, Kirk Hammet. Those aren't even the best guitarists in the genre and they piss all over any ska guitarist out there. Same can be said for bassists, any metal bassist will be playing at 4 times the speed and technicality of a ska guy.
  19. Yeah it's the same one. Probably sounds different because the guitar is tuned down 1 1/2 steps from standard :P Thanks man, it's a start. I'll keep updating this topic as we record more bits and pieces. Yeah, it sounds rough because it hasn't been mastered at all. The guitar parts were recorded in one take and the drums were done on an electric drum set :P Still, it's better than paying for studio time at the moment.
  20. Here's a short guitar track i recorded yesterday with a friend of mine. If you don't like heavy music, i wouldn't bother listening. It's only about 40 seconds long and it's really rough around the edges, but it's the first thing we've recorded before we start writing some songs. Opinions welcome. clicky Edit: Oh great, the censor changes You send it  Is there any file upload service that this forum doesn't censor? I know that's asking a lot, after all we can't expect the users of this forum to be responsible for their own security, can we? For now, replace the "abused - censored" with you send it (no spaces) and it will work. http://www.abused - censored.com/transfer.php?action=download&ufid=FB47CFE626484DC3
  21. I wanted to quote it so bad, but pretty much anything Hartman says would come out as "*". "You better start * me tiffany cufflinks, or i will definitely * you up!" Yup, it sucks.
  22. Pretty much any line from the first 30-40 minutes of Full Metal Jacket.
  23. For what it's worth, there are 2 people on this entire board who's posts do not get read by me. There's the guy who always post in blue, and there's mister small font here. I don't feel as if i'm missing out by scrolling past either one of them.
  24. That statement is so funny coming from an Arsenal fan. I remember the Arsenal players crowing around a ref when they had a penatly given against them, and forced him to change his decision. I didn't think the ref was that bad. Yeah, he made a couple of stupid decisions, and fell for Eboue's blatant dive, but he got the big decision right. Lehmann simply had to walk, going by the laws of the game. It ruined the game as a contest, but he had to go. After Arsenal failed to hold out, typical Arsenal go into whinge overdrive. Referee was "horrendous", according to Henry, who decided to blame everyone but himself after choking in the biggest game of the season. Wenger naturally chipped in, forgetting that the ref gave Arsenal a goal, and Eto'o was onside. But it has to be said, it was a great effort from Arsenal. They did well holding out for so long against Barca, they didn't really look like scoring until the last minutes. It was a great run to the final too, they played really well all Champions League. Just a pity they can't take a defeat. I'm not going to waste too much time arguing with you because i've done that in the past, but i will say this: 1. A Man United fan has absolutely no authority to criticize other teams for influencing the ref, or to criticize players for whining. You have a team consisting of Gary Neville and Christiano Ronaldo, they should be sponsored by Kleenex with all the crying they do. 2. Henry choked? Were you even watching the same game everyone else saw? For 60 minutes that bloke put his heart and soul into the game, was tracking back all over the pitch and did more running in those 60 minutes than the whole of the Barcelona team did in the entire 90. I don't think he could have done much more, and was unlucky not to be on the score sheet. 3. You should have gone to specsavers before you watched the replay of Etoo's goal. 4. I'm an Arsenal fan, and i can accept that we lost the game. I'm only gutted about the way we lost it, especially as i think we were the better team for a large portion of the game, even with 10 men.
