Announcement for RSOF QFC Tags...
We were going to add another feature to the QFC tags, which was why I was hoping to wait, so that feature could be explained in the announcement. Though it seems like we're not sure if that feature will be implemented anymore so I suppose I can go ahead with the announcement.

Feedback: Bot Threads in General Discussion
Unfortunately bad topics don't just "die out" :( Topics that people dislike tend to get spammed with rude and/or pointless comments, which is not only against our rules but annoying and even hurtful for the topic creator. I think we understood that something needed to be done, but decided to give the community a say :)

Beware! 'Jagex' scam email!
I've merged your thread with our general thread on Jagex scam e-mails. As already stated, Jagex will never contact you via e-mail with offers like this. You will only receive an e-mail for the official RuneScape newsletter. Additionally, any offers made by Jagex will take place on RuneScape.com, not other miscellaneous websites. I would encourage you to read this thread: Stay Safe: A Guide to Account Security. :)

200,000 Members!
Given how prolific some of our posters are, I'm pretty sure we're long past that. (Yes, I'm looking at you Mr. Sonic-I-post-on-everything-because-I'm-awesome. I still remember when you were new and look at you now. :shades: ) I think a better question might be how long till we hit 50m posts. Only 4,744,799 posts :)

200,000 Members!
200,000 Members! Earlier today we reached 200,000 members, which is quite a milestone  In celebration of this, the Tip.It staff is working on getting a forum contest up and running, hopefully by the end of the week - so stay tuned! In the meantime, there are still a few weeks left in our Pixel Art Contest - check it out if you're interested in winning some great prizes! Have a great day!

TIF is bit over-moderated
We have already asked moderators who are not designated "Metagame Moderators" to stay clear of the Metagame board unless there is an emergency (spambots, a huge flamewar when a Metagame mod is not online, etc.). But for all other RuneScape forums, moderators can moderate when they see fit. If there is a situation that requires game knowledge (this usually only happens in Help & Advice or Metagame) then moderators either leave it for someone else to handle or they consult with the rest of the team to gain an understanding of what needs to be done. Retired moderators still have moderator powers in RuneScape boards because almost all rule-breaking cases and reports do not require game knowledge. Most reports are nothing about the game; they are personal attacks on other users, deal with racism, or are just spam. We are always on the lookout for new moderators who are heavily involved in RuneScape but as has been said several times, it is exceedingly difficult to find qualified candidates :( Most people who are suited for the position and are active in RuneScape are not very active on Tip.It.

TIF is bit over-moderated
As a few moderators already stated, we're working on getting an official response from a knowledgeable, non-CM Jagex moderator and we'll let you know as soon as we have it. But unfortunately it will be Monday at the earliest. We are still discussing what we will and will not allow, but it will most likely end up being something like this: Sites that contain rule-breaking adverts are fine because they're adverts. They're not the actual website's content. Search engines and massive sites that "could possibly contain rule-breaking content" are fine because in order for you to find rule breaking content, you'd actually have to go searching for it yourself. The information isn't sitting there for you, you have to go to Google.com and search "RuneScape fletching bot" or go to YouTube.com and perform the same search. Forums that allow users to admit to breaking the rules are perfectly fine. RuneScape sites/forums that contain rule-breaking content (bots, macros, black markets, etc.) are not allowed. The official response from Jagex will aid us in determining what constitutes as a script that breaks the rules. Again, that's not official at this point, but I think that's the direction we're headed in. I hope we can all sit tight until early next week when we get that official response for you guys :)
