  1. SOUR SKITTLES??? You've got my vote!   :P
  2. Darn you Killerred005 for interfering with the mod/admin combo! :P
  3. Moderator Trainee Recruitment Drive 2011 Application Deadline: 10 July 2011 at 11pm GMT We are looking for new people to join our moderator team as trainees! If you're interested, active, and think you'd make a great moderator, keep reading! What does a moderator do? The most obvious role of a moderator is patrolling the forums to remove inappropriate content and handle user-submitted reports. Moderators lock threads, remove posts, move misplaced threads, issue warnings to users who violate the rules, and our higher ranked moderators also issue bans. But other less obvious roles include being leaders of the community, setting a good example, and participating in private moderator discussions to form new policies, reevaluate old policies, and work together to make the Tip.It Forum as fun and enjoyable as possible. Many moderators take on their own projects to host forum contests or manage important stickies that need constant updating. So then what is a moderator trainee? How do they differ from regular moderators? Moderator trainees are moderators in training. They work under the guidance of our regular moderator team. Moderator trainees are not guaranteed to become full moderators (but we hope they will be :)). Trainees usually only moderate one or two boards, whereas our full moderators have powers in 8 boards and more (depending on their rank). What qualities are we looking for in candidates? Our highest priority is finding moderators who actively play RuneScape and can actively moderate the Tip.It community. But even if you don't fit this criteria, you are still welcome to apply and would be equally considered for a position! Other important qualities are a high level of forum activity, the ability to manage a group of users without bias, a good sense of judgment, and a professional attitude. We're not a boring, serious bunch and we do joke around now and then, but it's also important that moderators are professional in their decision-making and in the way that they interact with users in their official capacity (such as issuing warnings). Who can apply? Below are a list of requirements needed to apply: You may not hold any other staff position on Tip.It. This includes Tip.It Crew and Tip.It Events Team. If you are a member of the Editorial Panel then you may apply. You must have registered at least 3 months ago. You must have a post count greater than 150. What if I have received an official warning or been banned before? If you have broken rules in the past, you will not be immediately ruled out. We will consider the severity of the offense(s) and how much time has elapsed since your most recent offense. Still interested?? Even if you're not sure if you're qualified, go ahead and apply anyway! You may be pleasantly surprised. How To Apply If you are interested in applying, fill out the below form and send it in a private message to Staff Applications with the subject "Moderator Application." Remember, this is your chance at a good first impression. Put some effort into it, don't rush, and be sure to answer every question. Good luck! 4. [spoiler=Post] Hope you don't mind me giving you all an update on runefest  Merged with the main RuneFest thread :) I'm glad they pushed the date back :P It gives me more time to consider whether or not I'm going.
  5. I look forward to hearing how this turns out  Good luck.
  6. Well.. pulling a name out of a hat would be easier, but perhaps less fair. Having everyone vote for their favourite out of those three pieces would be the most fair way but would mean another round of voting :P
  7. Definitely the right thing to do. Given how you clearly wanted to be with her and she screwed you over so many times, it's better to drop all communication and have at least a few weeks apart to properly get over each other.
  8. Sorry :( I know it sucks!
  9. Disagree. Platonic friends would be better, that's less likely to crash and burn so even if he becomes dependent on them, he'll be fine. I agree. If you're emotionally unstable, a relationship is not a good decision. First of all, if you have such huge motivation problems, it would probably be difficult to even get into a relationship. And if you can't emotionally "be there" for yourself, you can't expect to be able to emotionally be there for someone else. Walking into a relationship like that is setting yourself up for disaster. Stick with friends, try to find new hobbies, force yourself to go out, and set goals. Goals can be anything: from serious stuff to sillier stuff (like eating at every restaurant in an x mile radius). But having a goal - regardless of what it is - will give you a purpose and something to look forward to.
  10. I feel like everything I've learned other than writing classes has been useless for me. I understand how some classes are important for people who go on to pursue a career in science/math/history/languages or another subject that requires retaining a lot of knowledge and/or constantly builds upon itself, but that doesn't really apply to me. I'm a digital artist. So all the math, science, etc. I learned is completely irrelevant for me. I didn't even learn digital art in school, that was all self taught in my free time. So I feel like education has really just been one stepping stone leading to the next, all so I can get a piece of paper from a university that will make me "qualified" for decent jobs. Of course there are other things you can consider like social and academic maturity and logic/critical thinking skills, etc. But in terms of the actual information, it has been pretty useless for me. I also feel like I've learned more critical thinking skills from hobbies I've pursued in my spare time than from educational classes. I do feel that writing classes are beneficial for everyone though. Regardless of your career path, writing will come in handy. It is so important to be able to express yourself through writing and be able to communicate clearly. This is useful for many job-related tasks or even just applying for jobs.
  11. Not really. We do sometimes send them links to interesting/controversial topics that are posted here and they take a look. If it's of interest to enough people, I might be able to try to get an interview set up.

Probably waking up next to my boyfriend for the first time :P
  13. Just because so many people are doing it doesn't mean we should stoop that low. Yes it does seem like Jagex doesn't care as much as they used to, but that doesn't mean that the players don't care. There's a reason people complain about bots and RWT, etc. - because they don't like it. Supplying botting guides, etc. would be saying we approve of those actions. But most people in this community don't approve of it (especially staff) so there's no reason to start supporting those things. I think a more realistic topic would be: since Jagex doesn't seem to care, should Tip.It not care? Meaning we wouldn't promote the activities by providing guides and information but we'd turn a blind eye to people who admit to breaking the rules. (not saying I agree to disagree with this, but I think that's a more realistic discussion) EDIT: And for the record, the sticky wasn't created because we think it's a minor issue that should be tucked away. It was created because tens of botting threads were posted each month, all essentially saying the same thing and we got countless complaints. The majority of the community (or majority of those who chose to voice their opinion) wanted a sticky.
  14. Lol I thought the same thing. I was like, "Are they really doing this?" I'd smack anyone who did that IRL. I loved this entire first season and I am so pissed that I'll have to wait ages for season 2 :P
  15. Uzi

I don't know anything about uzis so I can't really comment on the accuracy, but it certainly does look good :P
  16. Yeah honestly I'd say any relationship that has that many problems, that many doubts, and that many instances of breaking up and getting back together isn't going to work in the long run. And the fact that she said she only wants to be FWB tells me that she's not really emotionally invested, even though she agreed to a relationship in the end. But good luck :P
  17. phpBB2 -> phpBB3 :P Switching to IPB came later.

Honestly, sometimes I just think nothing works and it's something you have to deal with. My mom suffers from really bad allergies and like you, she has tried everything: all the medications, injections, etc.
  19. We discussed this as a team a few weeks ago and unfortunately we decided not to go through with it. Sorry!!
  20. A third article has been added: Does RuneScape Have a Pro-Melee Bias? Part 2 Sorry for the delay on that one :)
  21. Time for a new release of the: >>>Tip.It Times!<<< I'd like to remind people of the rules pertaining to Times threads: [hide=Read these rules before posting in this thread] [/hide] When replying please make sure to clarify the article you are replying to! Thanks! If you spot any typos or mistakes in the article then please PM them to me or @Racheya :) Enjoy the articles!
  22. I watched No Strings Attached. Character and plot development were practically non-existent, but it was a cute movie and definitely had some funny parts/lines :P
  23. I don't use it for casual conversation, except maybe with my parents. I use it for job applications, for inquiring about "official stuff," for communicating with people I need to speak to but don't know very well, etc. I don't use it with my friends.
  24. I watched "Just Go With It" last night. It was pretty lame. There were entertaining parts, but they were canceled out by the totally stupid parts/roles.
  25. Nais I'll actually be in England at that time
