  1. I don't want to encourage people to just seek answers for their homework assignments. Right now people are welcome to create threads in Off-Topic or related forums (Programming forum for coding homework, Art Gallery for art homework) as long as they don't just ask for answers. I honestly haven't seen enough of those threads to really merit its own forum.
  2. People recently complained that we have too many stickies in Rants, so I'd rather not add another one :) Also, the last post on the first page dates back like five days so we don't need to steal anymore activity away from the main forum.
  3. Yes. It can be incredibly hurtful for the other person. but what if both parties are guilty? Would they both get hurt, or would they not care? If both parties are faking love then they don't need to fake love.. they can just have a sex only relationship. And as long as the purpose of the relationship is clear to both people, there's nothing immoral with it.
  4. I'd just call it stupid. If you love each other, you should be able to (and want to) work together, communicate and practice to turn it into great sex. Faking it just makes you unhappy when you could potentially be having a great time. And if the sex sucks and you're faking it (thus not improving it), odds are it will pull the relationship apart sooner or later. Yes. It can be incredibly hurtful for the other person.
  5. It used to be listed on someone's profile when they were permanently or temporarily banned. We don't do that anymore but maybe it's something we could consider (zero promises).
  6. I've been in a long distance relationship for nearly 1.5 years now and it can be incredibly, almost painfully difficult. But somehow we've managed to make it work and it has never gotten boring :) It seems we never run out of things to talk about, which definitely helps I suppose. As for your question, my boyfriend and I like to watch movies/TV shows "together" even though we're not physically with each other. We follow most of the same TV shows so anytime a new episode comes out we always watch it at the same time so we can talk/laugh about it together. We also play games together whenever we find one we're both interested in.
  7. I got like half way through A Game of Thrones. While it was good, I don't like how it doesn't get the reader invested in characters. Since it deals with so many people at once, I don't feel like there's a character or two that I can really get attached to, and I like having that element in a book. But the TV show just started (I watched the first episode) and that's tempting me into trying to finish it.
  8. Thanks for suggestion! I really like the looks/capabilities of the Intuos 4, I'm diggin' all the function buttons on the side :) May I ask, do you use the med or a bigger size? Edit: Also, do you use the standard pen, or are the other pens worth the money? I have a medium tablet. I think it's the perfect size :) I also use the pen that came along with my tablet. It works great and I've never had any problems with it!
  9. Wacom is really the best brand - I wouldn't recommend anything else :) I have a Wacom Intuos 4 and it's fantastic, but it's something like $300 and more of a professional tablet. I would recommend buying a Wacom Bamboo. It is the best for recreational use and is great quality :)
  10. Moderators and admins keep thorough records of who was banned, for what reason, and what ban message they received. On top of that, administrators have access to automatic moderator logs that show which moderator locked which topic or banned which user, etc.
  11. I just watched Frozen.. I didn't expect it to be that gory... :(
  12. Actually we haven't gotten the "something" I was waiting for yet :P I guess it just got pushed back in the list of priorities.
  13. Except it doesn't. If no riot had occurred, we would have had the same result. Either the banned users would have appealed and we would have reevaluated/removed the bans that way, or after a few hours the admin team would have reviewed everything and again made the same changes. The riot was in no way required for us to reach the ending that we did. Honestly, unless every single person has the exact same opinion, everything takes a while to get done. We have 9 administrators and unfortunately we don't always agree on everything 100%. Everyone has to have a chance to give their input (and when we live in different time zones, even this can take a while) and then we have to come to a majority decision. It's a simple fact of life that when you have a lot of people involved, it takes longer.
  14. Yep and that's fine :) For example there are a few posts where someone asked for the URL somewhere and someone replied with it. That's not advertising. But someone saying, "Help us out and join our forum here <link>" is advertising :)
  15. We also do a lot of in-thread moderating but in most cases, if the posts aren't removed and a moderator just comes in asking people to stop, people will continue the discussion anyway because the posts are still there, taunting them to reply. This is particularly true if it's a flame war and people are insulting each other or jumping down their throats. But by removing the posts, people don't feel inclined to respond to each other anymore since the posts are no longer there.
  16. You can see in our rules that we don't allow advertising in threads: If we allowed it then our forum would literally be filled with advertisements. This was particularly an issue a few months ago when people would make threads in General Discussion essentially just advertising their other RuneScape websites. People didn't like this, and for good reason. Advertisements may be posted in signatures and in the designated thread in Off-Topic but not in posts. We hope that this is reasonable :)
  17. It wasn't locked permanently, it was just locked so that the conversation could pause and posts could be removed. Locking this one now since you can continue on the previous one :)
  18. Please feel free to report off-topic posts in Help & Advice so they can be removed :) If the forum doesn't work out then we can remove it in a few weeks, no harm done. But it's worth a shot and then we can at least say we tried :)
  19. Actually we don't :P We never lock/remove content on request, except for perhaps questions that have been answered (in Help & Advice / Tech & Computers). I recall content in BlogScape being locked upon request... Though I suppose that's only one or two boards. Yeah sometimes we do it in BlogScape if a user quits RuneScape or starts a new blog or something and doesn't want the old one being bumped.
  20. We currently don't have any plans to make that change :)

Unless there has been some miscommunication, it was our understanding that a Help & Advice subforum here was wanted :) If this is incorrect we are open to changing our approach.

  23. The contest is now closed to entries :) The Tip.It Events Team will need a while to sift through them and decide on a winner. The winner will then be contacted to schedule a time with the Jagex moderator. Best of luck to everyone!
  24. I watched 13 tonight. Big waste of time - what a horribly boring movie. Jason Statham, I am disappointed
