  1. There is no clear cut, set in stone rules for how often you need to troll to be banned. We have to handle everything on a case-by-case basis because every case is different. There is more mild trolling vs. extremely disrespectful/irksome trolling and then we have to take each person's history into consideration. If we had a rule like, "if you post 2 troll posts you're banned" then these two situations would have to be handled exactly the same: - User posts 2 troll posts, but otherwise has never violated any rules. - User posts 2 troll posts, has an extensive history of spamming, flaming or other rule violations. And hopefully we can all agree that those two situations should not be handled in the same way. Our main goal here is to make Tip.It a more enjoyable place for people to be. Over the past few months especially, we have received many complaints about people being rude or disrespectful to others, but not necessarily with obvious personal attacks (i.e. "you are such a stupid idiot") but with more subtle sarcastic comments. Previously we weren't very strict about this because they weren't always obvious personal attacks and didn't necessarily contain things like name calling or explicit harassment. But these comments still make fun of people, create jokes at the expense of others, put people down, and just make people feel like crap. People have (understandably) complained about the negative, bullying atmosphere and we're doing our best to change that.
  2. Have you tried telling him that? ;)
  3. We don't allow people to accuse others of violating the rules (section 1.5 - Naming Names). So if you want to post screenshots of people you think are bots, edit out the name. But as long as the names are edited out, it is perfectly acceptable to post those screenshots. But the thing we're addressing in this thread is people who openly admit to botting or violating other RuneScape rules themselves.
  4. Sorry I clearly leeched your luck :P
  5. Three Barrows chests in a row: (I got the two Karil's Skirts in one chest) Total loot from the night: Om nom nom.
  6. Locked on request. Seriously guys.. this is not necessary.
  7. Why I was banned for posting a "troll" post, when my last warning was on September 03 2010? - How occasional do you need to "troll" to become a person that "contributes nothing to to community." - Specific questions about your situation should be discussed in private - not here publicly. "They are against the Runescape and Jagex rules, therefore are against our rules too." Some people on the forums use scripts that an un-informed retired from runescape admin could easily mistake as against jagex's rules, which they aren't - resulting in people being banned for things that are not against runescape's rules. What do you say about having retired admins policing these rules? Whenever there isn't a clearcut black and white situation, such as someone using a script that could be against RS rules but isn't specifically mentioned as such, we always have a group discussion. A retired admin who is not in the loop of RuneScape-related things would know better than to handle such a situation by him/herself. We normally talk it out as a team and/or contact Jagex and ask them directly. So now, they won't be posting about bug abuse. Win - win. http://forum.tip.it/topic/285258-an-epic-glitch-that-has-sadly-just-been-patched/ I'd like to hear admins thoughts on this. - Good to see that you're not supporting bug abuse in any way. Checking out graphical bugs that do not actually affect your character, other characters or the economy, etc. in any way are not something that Jagex seems to care about and ban people for. As such, we wouldn't consider it the abuse of a bug, as it doesn't actually affect the game or give you any sort of gameplay advantage.
  8. Loot from three Barrows chests: I got the two Karil's Skirts in one chest
  9. I think this thread has had its time and there's nothing left to say that hasn't already been said.
  10. I don't look down on them, but I don't praise them; I just think nothing of them.
  11. Jagex has abilities we do not. They can actually investigate trades that happen in-game and view in-game reports. We cannot. So if someone does something in-game but doesn't post about it, we would have no way to know that it happened. Even you would have no way of knowing that it happened. So it's not that we don't care if they do it or not, we simply have no way of knowing that they did it unless they post proof of themselves doing it or admit to doing it.
  12. Thanks you guys <3: Barrows last night:
  13. Yay congratulations!
  14. Wow hi!

Meh I won't be doing anything :P I've never really been much of an April Fools person.
  16. Locked - question answered.
  17. Unfortunately there's no way to remove it for regular users. Just ignore it ;)
  18. I wasn't kidding guys..
  19. Let's get back on topic please ;)
  20. Also as a side note - don't forget to report posts that violate these rules. We staff members do not have a built in radar that automatically detects rule violations. In order to get things removed and dealt with ASAP, we need your help with reporting!
  21. Locking this because it has been riddled with so much spam, trolling and downright rudeness. You are fully welcome to dislike an article but when you say that in your post, don't do it in an inflammatory way. Constructively challenge the ideas - don't attack the person behind them. And to the people requesting a lock: if you believe a thread should be locked you need to report it. Posting "lock plz" on the thread is not only rude but is considered spam. If this happens again on another thread - especially if they are the same people - temporary bans will be given out.
  22. Yep I was like 46th to 99 construction :) Good times! And the pie is all yours. I don't like pie.
  23. The Lost Symbol   I love all of those books! I'm currently reread the Percy Jackson & The Olympians series! It's been a while!
