The prayer useage really isn't an issue. It's cheaper to "heal" this way, than to eat sharks for instance. For boss trips, the extra inventory spots are totally worth it too, because you will need less brew/whatever

Wtf, I would have expected you to at least know the difference between accuracy and strength. Just cause a hit hits 160 doesn't mean it's suddenly blocked by a higher defence shield. The fact that it does hit, means it's not blocked. I guess you are trying to tell me attacks with lower hits have less accuracy, but that is not necessarily true + a low hit can still be a hit from the boss that has a high max, and it would still be very accurate.
-
50-100m from 1-80 slaying is a joke.
-
Your claim that i's useless to prevent for instance a 160 hit is flawed IMO. I think you'de be surprised how much the small hit add up. Look at GWD, often you are blocking the bosses main attack, causing the smaller attacks to be the biggest concern.
-
That's very selfish of you + you do harm people who have to pay max in stead of med. I'm also pretty flipping would still be possible.
-
I've said this before: If we would have a GE that updates every few minutes, manipulation wouldn't be a problem at all. Things would get dumped within hours.
-
Get a fury first, but in general, claws are more useful than Dharok's. I have enough money to buy over 100 dharok sets but I don't even have a single set.
-
Almost exactly what i am doing. Did super atks to 81, brews to 84, spec to 88, then 2.2k of each extreme as you can do them till you have all overload supplies done. At that point, you will almost be 93 herb. From there, you can stew those 2.2k overloads and get 95, nearly 96 herb. Thats what im doing right now, and seems to be a very good plan, imo. Keeps you gaining fast exp while also making useful pots. I was going to do spec restores to 92, but realised that i could be preping for overloads for a little bit more cash, which is ultimately what i want. 2.2k overloads will last me forever :P That's how I see it too. Better pay a bit more and end up with useful pots, than paying less and ending up with nothing.

I only use a dfs for skeletal wyvern tasks, so I would say you shouldn't buy it for slayer. It is quite good however for PvP and MH'ing, but then again, a blessed spirit shield would be nearly as good and would save you some money for other gear (claws or something). I would get claws over a DFS. You can use it on every task, and they're quite damn powerful, especially in Kura's dungeon.

Like others have said, it IS significant boost over piety. Pair this with the slower drain rate and the access to soul split, which is easily flashable, and you are a hard hitting beast with infinite health. SW cape is also an excellent addition to make turmoil even more worthwhile. Giving up 4 str bonus for 12 prayer is a very good deal IMO.

I would use battle robes and fire wave, or fire surge once you get the lvl. Fire wave is cheaper, and hits higher than slayer dart. Surge spells are more expensive, but much more powerful. If you can't get battle robes, get ahrim top + bottom (+ farseer helm). The repair costs are minimal. All in all, I think you might profit a little with firewave
-
I would stick to maging rex. Your melee stats and ranging stats are on the low side. You can always try to range prime while waiting for rex to spawn though.
-
Check the runewiki calcs on gp/xp and choose what you like. The market changes a lot.
-
Yes it does stack. I'm hitting 553 with fire surge on iron dragons in Kuradal's dungeon. This makes it not much slower than meleeing with ZS and turmoil. Mage slaying in general still isn't comparable to melee, but it's been better than ever. Get the arcane stream necklace before you consider it though. It's too good to miss out on. Also: Dont do slayer dart. Fire wave is cheaper, hit's more, and give more XP too I believe. You might consider surge spells when you get the lvl for it. Looking at your stats, I would mage tasks like Abby demons and metal dragons + maybe a couple other, and range the rest.

hehe, nice! However, shouldn't you be able to hit 566 or something? -

I'm very sure I hit a 551, because I was really watching but I just pressed print scrn too late. . I'm not 100% about the 553. I was picking up a dragon bone drop and saw it "in the corner of my eyesight". How often I hit 400+? Hard to say, because a lot is about perception, but there's been times I hit two 440+ in a rows, and I remember one of them was on Karil's. Double 400+ is sort of exceptional, but still the accuracy and DPS is pretty insane. -
Yep, I remember I managed to get an addy pickaxe, which I sold for 40k. This way I bought my first rune large.
-
Maybe make extremes. You never know when you want to go for 99 and make overloads.
-
The answer you are asking for is just basic math that anyone can do. I'm not doing that for you . I happened to have done it too, so i can tell you you need around 3.6k overloads for 95-99 (use greenman's for 95-96 boost). I'm pretty sure you can work out the rest yourself.

I've been thinking about that too. Strange I never hit close to that in the whole task though. (or I missed it when I was htiting a drag off screen, but that was rare). I also still find it strange how certain bonus stack apperantly, and others just get added up (sol and necklace). -
Yeah, I think at certain point, TD's just about what suits you best to prayer/weapon switch. If you are using steel titan and claws though, I would go for a slower weapon. You'll already have your hands full enough.

He can always keep buying santas, and hope for a strong buyout. 10 santas and a mask set might get him somewhere if santa's are 25m street over GE mid. If not, just buy with junk after a major item gets dumped. It's not that hard to get rid of junk, I figured.

So, I wanted to try out my arcane stream necklace on alayer task. Was very satisfied with the results. I finished my 96 iron task in under an hour. Here is one of the many nice and high hits: The strange thing is, I've hit up to 553 (missed screeny), while according to my calculations: 280 * 1.30 * 1.15 * 1.21 + 40= 546.5 You might argue it should be: 280 * 1.15 * 1.15 * 1.15 * 1.21 + 40 = 555.3 However, when wielding arcane stream necklace and SOL, you get "+30% magic damage" on your equipment screen, in stead of + 32% (1.15 * 1.15 = 1.3225). Also, when trying out ice barrage, my personal max was 471, which matches nicely with: 300 * 1.30 * 1.21 = 471.9 Any explanations? -
Thanks for the interesting post. Just saw that vid on youtube you mentioned (it's on screenshot thread), and it seems quite unavoidable to die this way, when you fight someone with chaotic + granite maul. I mean, the guy just has to keep his "wield granite maul" button ready, and hit spec as soon as his maul hits a 600+ hit. Downside is of course that maul has little uses elsewhere. I also agree on letting us get tokens back quicker without xp or whatever. Actually, I would prefer an option to rebuy your weapon for around 10-20M gp, kind of like how quest reward items (barrelchest anchor) work right now. Would be another small moneysink too.

You can go higher, for sure with miasmic. I hit a 471 with ice barrage :-). Barrage + ags isn't working anymore, is it?
