  1. Pures and pkers, I understand. But seriously, what's the fun of getting 99 woodcutting on another account AGAIN?
  2. Aw DJ, sucks to hear that. I guess I'll just do waterfiends with my iron titan like I should, considering I am not maxed melee, but do have 99 magic yet.
  3. I wasn't really planning to comment but since it is so heated I'll try to post my hopefully not too offending opinion. I'll actually just explain what I did. Normally when there a new Times, I read it at some point. However, I am not the person that is looking forward every week to when the Times is released. I just like to read it as a disctraction every now and then. I also don't read the fictional articles, and often when I get bored, I don't read the full thing. Well, that is what happened today. I saw, hmm, only one article, no problem, they just left out a fictional I guess. I started reading and saw they were askign for more writers, so I stopped reading since I don't really have any ambition in that direction. That's it. I'm not going to rant, or laugh, or whatever, just stopped reading and looking forward to next week, no problem. I do think, like some people said, that it might have been a better idea to just say you are short of articles and are looking for writers. Would have spent you less time in making up a fancy form of advertisement, and it's really no shame to admit you don't have a Times ready. We understand. At least I do.
  4. I don't think there are many people who got membership this month because someone trying to get into their pants gave them a membership card. XD But I see your point. Did you use the scroll to boost your magic level or just have it summoned? They might have removed it from the equation as not to make 92 summoning the cheaper extreme magic potion as well as disallowing it in PvP. I'm using a wolpertinger + scrolls at rock lobsters at the moment, I've hit a few 25's with ice burst so I can confirm wolpertinger does work. Also, +10 from extreme mage seems a bit overpowered. Spellbook swap/ice barrage at 84/86? I think it is pretty balanced at the moment, both 92 summ and 91 herblore are pretty hard to get. Like you said, 91 herb ain't easy to get, so I don't mind someone with lower magic level then me using spells I can't because they have 91 herby. No. Jagex wouldn't make something like that. Also, Jagex can't be like "oh, well your magic level is boosted, but because a WOLPERTINGPER (or w/e it is, sorry about spelling) gave you the boost. Oh, you can hit +5 more damage with DBA spec vs super str pot because DBA gave the bonus." No. The bonus is a bonus that affects stuff. Sorry if that came across as a little obnoxious. You didn't get what I meant. I meant that I heard of some people that the extreme mage pot's extra damage only applied on one enemy (in this case one rock lobsters), meaning all other 8 rock lobster got hit by a regular burst (with a max of 22). Not sure if it is still like that cause this was what it was like (according to these people) BEFORE the update.
  5. I kind of agree with you Mywepons, but I fear that it won't be better money now for 44-91. Nature rune prices will drop, making the profit exactly the same. The only people really losing here will be the 91 runecrafters. The only people really winning are those who made alchable stuff, cause that will probably rise a bit when natures go down.
  6. aah, okay. And 188k xp per 1k bursts seems a bit low yes, since I got 180 before all these updates. Maybe the rumor is true that it only affects on lob.
  7. Is it not too hard with wolper hitting the lobs messing up your lures? Also, what do you mean by this 84/86? And I think it's okay, but I would have liked for extreme mage to be given at least one or two levels more than the wolpertinger, since wolper gives stackable scrolls and can be used in pvp (meaning it's more useful/cheap so should have less of a bonus).
  8. How did this update make 26king easier?
  9. Just because you get an update for a skill that needed one doesn't mean the update was good. These spells are pointless. The God Spells are: a. more powerful b. have lower requirements (80 for charge) c. are still cheaper This makes them completely useless. Yeah haha, the lamest "pro" arguement I've ever seen. "The update kind of sucks, BUT we needed an update, so woohoo!"
  10. Seems a bit low for barrage since I got 180 xp per burst, also before all these updates.
  11. Aha! I could have known because I read something about it on RSOF where you were replying too. As I thought, it did make sense somehow, not the "stupid joke" I was referring to. Now to get someone vid it.
  12. Max hit with magic has gone up actually, to 208 on a single target unless I'm overlooking something. Where do you get these numbers from? (you are not the kind of person that makes stupid jokes to get attention normally so I assume this somehow makes sense)
  13. Hmm okay, it gives wolpertinger a use, but for me it makes extreme mage pots just obsolete. I think + 10 magic bonus for extreme mage pot would have been a better solution. Wolpertinger would still be good cause its cheaper (300gp a scroll or so) and can be used in pvp worlds, while extreme mage pot needs a very high herblore lvl, hit higher, but cannot be used in pvp worlds. @ howdasisbad: Were you even thinking when you posted that? Mage didn't get any good update at all. You still hit higher with claws of guthix and it's even cheaper. Only downside is you risk your void mace if you would use it in risky pvp, but then you would probably use ancients anyway. Range doesn't need any updates at all. I guess it's just a coincidence that you are 99 ranged and only 83 magic? :-)
  14. You will be able to toggle it off once in a while but certainly not all the time. Use super def pots if you want to leave it off sometimes, and bring swallow whole scrolls.
  15. Why dont you use claws of guthix? Hits more, is cheaper, and has a chance to lower your foes defence.
  16. Again, like brawlers, EP requires either PKing or 76king to use. The former is not something I am adept at, and the latter is a loophole that Jagex is intent on fixing (though they will probably fail at that like they have several times now ). I think Jagex considers 76king fixed now... It's a big shame but I fear it is the truth. I'm kind of losing confidence in Jagex with these kind of updates. Same goes for todays update. The introduce new spells which require death and blood runes and then go on with: now you'll need more runes, so we updated runecrafting. Well, can we get more deaths and bloods by rcing? Of course not. They just made nat runecrafting easier for the lower lvls and left the 91 runecrafters in the dust. Now I wouldn't mind if this would have been the system from in the beginning, but adding this update with the reason being "get your runes for the new spells easier" is just plain stupid. /rant
  17. Everything you say doesnt make sense. 1) These spells cost more and hit less than any god spell with charge, which only needs lvl 80 magic. So mage is NOT more equal to other combat types. 2 You can't craft your deaths and bloods at a faster rate. It doesn't make sense for Jagex to add new spells requiring deaths and bloods, and then just making nats easier to craft. Someone suggest to introduce double deaths at 95 rc and double bloods at 99. Now that would be a good high lvl update and much better than what we have now. They could even add this together with what they added now, since a lot of high lvl double nat crafters would move onto double deaths, evening the increased supply by the "noob nat crafters" out. 3)Mage pots might have gotten an extra bonus, extreme mage got extremely nerfed. 4)Why should you train herblore for mage pots, which you can buy far cheaper on the GE. I'm training herblore right now too, but doing it so you can make your own mage pots is a bit of a silly reason tbh. 5)150 pure ess which most people dont even bother to collect, yes this will keep the ess price down...
  18. Yeah, but you realise that 91 in itself has gotten totally nerfed. Natures will drop massively and they still get the same amount of nats per esss.
  19. Yeah, I dont really get it. Lvl 80 spell > lvl 95 spell in any circumstance? Am I missing some catch here or is this buyout of deaths and bloods just plain stupid, considering nobody in their right mind should use these spells over mage arena spells. Also, I've been reading that before the update, extreme magic potions only had a damage boost on one target, is this true? (so you would only be able to hit 46 on one rock lobster and normal damage would apply to the others). If this is true, does it still apply or have they updated it. If they did, then rock lobsters will be faster rather than slower.
  20. Mixed feelings here. They nerf the non pvp extreme mage pretty badly, from 40% to 21% and make the difference with normal pots only 6%, which is a bit small in my opinion. I think a +10 magic boost would have been more suitable. Now the "extreme" in the potion sounds a overdone, especially if you can use a wolpertinger, which is cheaper, and can be used in normal pvp.
  21. I think that's exactly what it means! Wow yeah, in some way not too bad cause 92 summoning isnt exactly easy to get either. But yeah, I was planning to do some ice barraging with the old extremem age potions, enjoying hitting 46's but I guess that is out now (it's now 40's or so?).
  22. Cant you get like 300+ spikes or so an hour?
  23. I disagree. The reason people with all skills lvl 41 can enter is because the total level requirement for the p2p worlds is too low. Make it 1500 or even 2000 and you will need to be a balanced character to enter. Make it 50M xp, please no, we already have enough people training cooking and fletching, I dont want these worlds to turn into cooking worlds.
  24. Therea ARE tangible rewards for skilling in pvp worlds. Just carry at least 76k and you will gain drop potential which will earn you money. You risk something, you get something. And eluciner: green dragon slaying nowadays is safer, yet even more profitable. But yeah, I agree, risk vs. reward is a good tradeoff and should be used more in skilling, not just pking.
  25. read the guide in my siggy. Prices are outdated, xp isnt though
