  1. Even thought I don't pk, this is a disgrace to every well balanced account. I can't agree more with everyone else here. On top of that, removing it from minigames too is just plain ... inexplicable. Okay, mage pots were a huge difference, and like other's have said, a mid lvl potion, making spells hit 25% more might not be a bid idea. Point is, the update could have used a bit of rebalancing, but completely removing it from any pvp, and giving in to all the whiners, sad... Lol on the link to the rsof post: even a forum mod didn't get the sarcasm.
  2. check my guide
  3. In the end, you pay exactly the same, if not more, as someone who bought everything from the GE. I say more, because there are (currently, but it will change) better things to put your money on in MTK, of instance. Gahtering seconds is also pretty damn stupid, considering it gives no xp. 5-15 hours of TDS, making 40m of a clawy drop and getting some experience along, seems better than getting no xp, and gathering 40m worth of seconds in 80 hours. The problem being that currently you can't buy any supplies, so there is no "paying exactly the same" option. That will only become valid in a few weeks. So why get a head start by doing some herbs yourself right now? You lose some gp income efficiency? It's a game. I am doing that lol, but even seeds are hard to buy.
  4. With the new update, causing the potion to stack with the extra damage, I would bring your master wand in stead of water staff. You get 10 more magic bonus and you have a max hit about 4 hits higher. I wouldn't go there before you have 85-86 herblore now and can make those pots (with stew). 40% faster kills, and 40% more damage is insane. I just bought 25k barrages, just incase I get too impatient with slayer and waterfiends (already 99 mage). 250+ crimsons an hour seems possible now.
  5. Good thing I bought my papay tree seeds a few days, but bad thing I didn't buy a stock of herb seeds... What do you think, will seeds just go up along with herbs, or will farmers make more profit of this update. I fear it is the first option, leaving us farmers just with bigger investment costs (which isn't a problem for me though).

  7. And us poor players trying to make quest levels? Cash in on the supply-side while you wait for the prices to drop again. You realise that might take over a month, and that even then herbs will probably be 30% more expensive.
  8. Its not merchanters... It's inflation, powered by merchanters. Or trade me has explained it perfectly, so I wont even try.
  9. I bought myself 12k barrages. Barraging rock lobsters just got a lot cheaper and faster, so even if I dont resell them, I will use them for 120k or so summoning xp her hour :-).
  10. Haha, just what I was thinking a few min ago.
  11. You can't, or do you mean you have some secret way? Anyway, I just thought about the stew. Since I don't pk, I am only interested in all the potions up to the ranging potion. I don't range that much so I might drop that one too. So I want 91 herblore, BUT there is the setw, so I only need 85 which is not too hard. By the way; barraging rock lobsters has gotten a lot cheaper and faster. At least that's something I have a decent stock of (25k deaths, 25k bloods). I might reconsider it now, instead of doing waterfiends in CT tunnels;
  12. Cost = product - materials... right? Alright theory crafting time: If you buy all the materials now, make them and sell the potions later... The potion might actually rise in price, because the cost of herbs and second ingredients are rising due to demand, it can lead to a cost pushed price increase. Maybe not as much as the rise of ingredients, buy hey you already have the materials brought right now! Also given that the end potions are used by the your fellow monster slayers and also is need for extreme potions... So you might have a chance of having a lower cost herb training if you ACT NOW! But I do hope the opposite happens like cooking, I just need cheaper potions :( I did act now, and I can't get any ingredient on the GE. The funny thing is I was thinking about getting 85 or 90 herblore a few days ago, and had already bought about 2k cadantines. Should have bought 20k goddamnit.
  13. I would strongly suggest an arcane, if you can afford one. It is the ultimate mage's shield. I would also drop the hood for a verac helm. If you wanna melee hybrid, substituting inf boots for dragon boots, and seers for onyx (i) or berserker/warrior. You could also bring a crossbow so you can use range em while they are frozen, refreeze, etc. Maybe a master wand to have less degrading cost on your zuriel staff. Onyx ring takes around 30 boring hours. I would get charms at rock lobsters if you arent 99 mage yet, otherwise waterfiends. I started doing waterfiends, because I'm 99 mage, and with an iron ittan I can get 130+ crimsons an hour at chaos tunnels for free. Also, why ice burst? If you are spending money on zuriel etc, at least use ice and shadow barrage. I would also take some brews/super defences. (and spec weapon and a crossbow)
  14. I think the closest solution to that would be the "Watched topics" function. In the settings go: Forums -> View/Posting/Email Prefs and in the field below check the "Watch every topic I reply to" box. After you've made some posts you can go here to see the activity of the threads (http://forum.tip.it/index.php?app=core&module=usercp&tab=forums&area=topicsubs), much like the previous way. Hope it helped. Yeah, I miss that one too.
  15. Those are some cool ideas. I think that Jagex should update old bosses like the KBD and KQ and make them more of a challenge by todays playing standards. Or determine difficulty of a boss by how many people are fighting it. The more people/higher levels are in the room, the higher the combat level of the monster would be. I dont agree. KQ is already way too hard for the price of its special drop. So unless they also update the drops, it wll make those bosses even more unwanted. Now for instance I like soloing the kbd because it's a decent way for crimson charms, and a bit more challenging than the normal slayer task. If they would make kbd harder, I wouldn't go there anymore.
  16. Finally someone gets it. Everyone here is talking about increasing power and hp so you need the BRUTE FORCE of a team. Isn't it much nicer if you need it because of the TACTICS of a team. Just make a monster that REQUIRES tactics to kill it. For instance, a monster that only get's hit if the three attacking types (melee, ranged, magic) are hitting him at once, or ... So many possibilities.
  17. Since I had this arcane I went out to look for the ultimate mage pking outfit. I think it is something like this: (notice the huge defence bonus, while still maintaining over 100 mage attack, and reducing the opponents attacking speed by 2. Combine this with ice and shadow spells, melee hybrid'ing (that's why I have str bonus items on too) and you will be a nightmare for everyone). Tried max mage bonus too (I know, I need seer (i) for it, so it's not the absolute maximum, but it is as close as I could get) And full zuriel: Also saw a lvl 42 with sgs. Dunno if it can get much lower.
  18. Tried some outfits: Which one do you think is best? (suggestions for additions/changes are welcome too)
  19. surprises me you didn't know about this yet, Bauke. :-)

  21. You must also remember that phats and the other rares were once worth about or even more than what they're worth today. I remember when blue phats were hanging out at ~500 mill (I think it was 500m, anyways; it's been too long). This might just be them going to where inflation would have put them had everyone not started selling them off several years ago (their decline started, I believe, with construction). I enjoy watching phat prices rise.... It brings back memories.... I dont since it keeps reminding me how stupid it was to sell my white for 170m.

  23. The only good thing I could find is that it improves my english. Besides that, I can only find bad things. I mean, imagine, all the time you've been playing Runescape, you've been practising this one hobby, say tricking for instance. I would be able to do double cork to double cork now then :o

  25. Don't forget mining. I second these notions. I don't particularly mind drop rates for monsters being random, however. Even though I've never gotten anything better than a whip. . . That's a different problem. If it was random, you should see an increase in the sharks you catch per hour from 90 to 99 fishing. It would just vary a lot, but the average should get higher. You say it doesn't, so that's a problem with the skill, not the random system. I don't mind catching 100 sharks one hour, and 200 the next, instead of 150 every hour. Makes it interesting. Same goes for agility and mining.
