800k to maybe 3.7m or beyond..
Nats, nats and more nats. Then do some more nats followed by some yew choping for a break! Grey chins are worth catching atm, especially if you into training hunter in preparation for summoning though reddies are not great money makers per hour until 80+ hunter when you can set up 5 traps and can catch 400 per hour.

Jagex, what are you doing with pking?
yes i remember something about jagex saying they were thinking of a 1v1 bounty hunter type thing because of all the complaints on the RSOF They also said mid 2008, so they are not in a hurry to push it out. 2 is too few world for anyone to solo bounty hunt, in fact soloing in BH is nigh on impossible in these 2 worlds.

Will the Release of Summoning Drop an Old p2p Skill Down?
Fletching is actually a horrible skill to pass over to F2P, I mean where would you stop? Maple longs/addy arrows? Maple longs are a decent way to fletch yourself to 99, especially as a F2Per, but what purpose would this bring? All of a suddon F2P would get the easiest 99 skill handed to them on a plate, denying Jagex of another potential customer ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ aint gonna happen. Cutting it down to say willow longs again serves only to provide enough of a ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâtaste̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ of a skill to produce completely worthless goods.

Summonings two waves
They have stated that it will be a slow skill to train, so there isn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t much point in releasing all the level 70+ summoning creatures in the first batch if they don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t have to is there? If doing this makes gameplay as lagless as they can make it, then kudos to them.

Rares prices.... (27,000+ views)
I don't doubt that there are accounts with hundreds of santas/phats out there. I was suggesting that by looking at the stakers hauls, you can get an idea on the ratio of rares being currently transferred, hence get an idea on the ratio of rares being traded - loads of santas, half as many masks, half as many phats, 1/5th disks/pumpkins/disks etc. This doesn't mean that prices should reflect the ratios of course as wearables will always have more demand than non-wearables.

Summoning - How Are You Preparing?
Jagex have stated that it will an expensive skill to train and a slow one ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ an easy 200M xp does not compute I̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢m afraid.

Rares prices.... (27,000+ views)
I generally go by bank screenies of famous stakers as to how many of certain products are out there. Time and time again I have seen people with 50+ santas, the same total number of masks but less than 10 pumpkins/disks/half wines. They also tend to have around ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâý the number of total phats than santas, and cracker or three. That to me suggests there is a lot more santas in circulation than any other tradeable rare. Also makes sense as it the last tradeable to be dropped, hence more people playing to get them.

Will the Release of Summoning Drop an Old p2p Skill Down?
There are many skills that are part F2P, but can really only be used well, or trained easily in P2P. Rcing is the prime example, but prayer, wcing, crafting are others ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ why? Because those skills are essential to enable the F2P player to experience the game. The ranger has never been able to make arrows/bows in F2P so why start now? Rangers in F2P have coped quite well without this ability thankyou very much. Construction? Again the question must be asked ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ why? Construction is primarily a money sink with a few helpful items being able to be made (teletabs, portals, altars etc). Construction is almost like a bonus skill that you do not need to have to be able to play the game ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ i.e. not required in the F2P format. Herblore: There would need to be another 15+ bank slots opened to F2P should herby ever be opened to F2P. If rev̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s can indeed poison in F2P then they need to sell anti-p pots in a shop somewhere in F2P land. No rightminded individual will make def pots out of ranaars, and they would need to have mage and range pots if they are to introduce attack, def pots ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ too big for F2P in my mind. Agility: This is currently the one thing that benefits a P2P player in a F2P world. Would putting a low levelled course in F2P land draw the crowds and make them want more (i.e. pay to get P2P?) highly unlikely. Once they got their 50 agility and use it run around Bounty Hunter better etc, they will have 1 less reason to subscribe to P2P. Something Jagex would want to avoid I imagine. Next is Summoning. This is a skill that affects your combat level, which has a huge amount of flow-on effects. F2P has always been able to match P2P players combat levels, and had a shot at beating the P2P player in level 1 wildy. Jagex have stated that they will be bringing out a single player bounty hunter type game in 2008, so if summoning up 8 more combat levels is not achievable for F2P, then P2P players in F2P land would be at a disadvantage. I would hazard a guess that a small section of summoning will be available to F2P to enable the F2P max combat to be the same as P2P. My 2p :)

Gifts
Gifting money is out, get him to spend 10M on runes that can be used in Bounty Hunter, i.e. nats, then use the previous posters idea about killing him on an empty world and having your mates around to protect you for 3mins before you escape.

Before becoming a member: preparations
Don't bother training fishing in f2p, shilo villiage fly fishing is incredibly fast, and close to a bank. Combat 65 is perfectly fine to go P2P, any skills that quests require you to get higher are infinitely quicker to skill in P2P anyway, so don't delay!

Summoning - How Are You Preparing?
A skill that can net you 100k+ per hour exp without spending a dime is considered pretty easy. As for me, I am reading the RS frontpage each time I log on in preparation - nothing else! I do have around 40 eggs from MTK in the bank, so hopefully they will come in handy :) Anything else required, I will gather along the way. I know I won't be in the running to get 99 summoning, so there is not a lot of point me trying to second guess what materials might give me a head start. For all we know, a proboscus could create a very lame critter that you might only need to make once, same for raven etc. I'd prefer to wait til it comes out, then see what I really need.

What are you most excited about for summoning
1) The summoning pure :P 2) Seeing chicken eggs break through the 10gp barrier! 3) Getting to 100cb without breaking a sweat :) 4) Tracking the race to 99 5) Reading the rants forum and giggling a lot 6) Getting +1 total level by logging on :) 7) Getting new training areas to maybe use chins/ice spells + monster to do more damage per hour than ever before. 8) Going to empty training spots while new areas are crowded! 9) Having something else to do in RS 10) Being glad of my highish hunter Not looking forward to: 1) Clearing bank space for the summoning items 2) Crowded new training spots 3) Needing another 7 hunter levels to utilise summoning better 4) Trying to remember what it was I was doing before Summoning once I get sick of it!

Pure Essence: What happened?
Don't be sorry for having an opinion, we are all entitled to one! I am completely ignorant of the sharks/barows/3rd age/rares/TT markets (and many more) as I either have no use for them or cannot afford/want them. I would assume that almost all RS players are ignorant of some aspect of the market BUT they are well informed on products they make/buy/sell on a regular basis and the price trends in GE. This does not make them ignorant of the economy, or how it works, only ignorant of aspects of the economy that does not affect them at this point in time. That̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s my opinion, and I like it :)

heads up on maple logs
They pointed out that they would be opening a shop that would buy your maples at a fixed price, but they never said what that price would be! My prediction is that it would most likely be the min price you would pay for the maples if you collected the maples from MTK, I thinks its around the 58gp mark?
-
Pure Essence: What happened?
Being ignorant of the RS economy, would imply that you are syaing that almost all players are unaware of what happens, and that is the point I disagree on. I suggest that most players are well aware of how, and why the GE prices change, and they buy materials when prices suit thier needs irrespective of the price of the same item yesterday.
-
Pure Essence: What happened?
Economic ignorance by most RS players? A tad harsh, and untrue. The truth is that most RS players just do not care about whether the price has gone up/down of a certain product. If they need it, and have the gp, and the price suits their need, they will buy. They realise that the price has risen/fallen, or that they could have bought x amount for a lot cheaper a year ago etc, but they just do not care! It is not as though they have lost real money, and provided they have enough gp to be self sufficient - meh buy that ess at 160gp ea (or whatever it is) So it is not economic ignorance, it is that RS players (non-merchant ones anyway) play for today, not for how much gp they will make tomorrow. Once the price of a product gets to a point that it becomes uneconomical to buy or the loss is too great to bear, they will not buy it and move on to another skill or get the product themselves.

What are you most excited about for summoning
Your kidding right? You don't even know yet what the changes will be to the likes of Bounty Hunter or PC, yet bag it already? Visit RSOF often? I'm looking forward to having little critters by my side when doing slayer tasks, or just testing them out against KBD :P

How many Red Chins and how manypots needed from70 rngeto 99?
150xp per chin over a 1 hour period is a tad on the high side. 150 per chin over 5 mins, I get that sometimes, but once the skels drop below 6 the xp per chin drops a lot too. Time is spent moving around getting 7-9 chins lined up, ensuring you don't waste chins, and maximising the xp per hour at the same time. At 95 range, I get 200-220k xp per hour, using 1.5k chins, range pots, and around 15 prayer pots. A full set (22 ppots) lasts me between 1.5 and 2 hours, and I use up around 3k chins in the process. I do not use eagle eye. This is at 52 prayer btw. As a side note, I have found that using grey chins is very good xp also. I get 170-180k xp per hour using these instead of reddies!

F2P to P2P? Or not?
Warning: Once you obtain membership, it is very hard (nighh on impossible) to ever return to F2P. It is so much better, so many more things to do, quests to do, skills to train, areas to explore etc. I have been a member for a couple of years and have barely scratched the surface! Read up a few guides on 'Beginning P2P', and decide for yourself what skills you would like to have before forking over the cash.

What to do now? Open to any suggestions
I would also suggest training slayer. While you won't be using your 99 mage often, you will certainly be gaining many combat levels, and the chance at some decent drops. Also no grinding to be done (not really anyway :P)
-
Which path to follow to get 99 thieving???
Plunder all the way - much faster and you will get a few sceptres along the way to boost your gp :)
-
Look at it this way
If a small fraction of summoning is F2P (as with runecrafting), then so what? If anything it will give F2Pers a taste of summoning, and the desire to get to summon greater critters in p2P. A winner for Jagex I'm sure. I would not unsubscribe just to be able to summon the 10 lowest creatures (or howver many they do or don't get)
