Runescape becoming too complicated for new players?
I disagree ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ your old vs new is essentially a F2P vs P2P, and not a lot has changed significantly over the last 3 years that would make playing P2P ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¹Ãâmore complicated̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ as you put it. If anything the changes make playing easier which would bring more people to the game.

An Interesting Thought: Will Summoning be Pest Controllable?
I doubt it will be. Jagex have stated that they don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t want it to be a fast skill to raise, and that it will be expensive. PC would negate both of these.
-
Need some info. with raising herblore from lvl 30.
Herby is very expensive to train if you are buying all your ingredients, especially so now that pots are a lot lower in price while ingredients have not come down as much ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ i.e. higher loss. Try to collect your own seconds/vials etc and raise it as you can afford to. Few pots (if any) are making a profit atm.

What i have to do to get a gs...
Chins form 71-80 is tedious and not a great money maker - but once you get 5 traps the chins flow very fast. You don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t have high combat stats to do tons of Barrows runs cheaply, so either hope the drop gods are on your side by attempting to get a visage/godsword yourself - or plod on getting 99 hunter and get a gs then!

Most useful update of 2007
Ava's accumulator update to auto pick up arrows/bolts is #1 for me - sped up training range immensely. GE is a close #2, made a bundle in the first few days of it opening and can now buy very cheap training goods. Clan Chat falls into 3rd place - I love this!

~~~How will/has the 138 CB cap affect/ed the game?~~~ =~)
Cons ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ those of us who like Bounty Hunter will have to sacrifice training summoning to stay within a certain cave level. Pros ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ You will have a companion to talk to during the quiet times! Cannon fodder for all those uncertain times ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ summon critter then run away :)
3 - 3.5m to spend on a non combat skill ?
Top 5, in order of getting bang for your buck (i.e. coolness things or sweet levels) 1) Construction - coolness things but not many levels (compared to other skills anyway) 2) Smithing - 3M will get you some very nice levels here 3) Crafting - again 3M will get you many levels (and you will be able to extend the 3M a long way if you are alching green dhide bodies) 4) Fletching - see #3, and swap dhide bodies for yew longs. 5) Herblaw - a nice way to blow heaps of cash fast - but you will lose the most cash, and gain fewest levels in the process. Though high herby is enviable :)
You right click to report, and there is a ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬Åmute/no mute̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ button you choose when reporting a player for breaking one of the rules. Becoming a Pmod requires you to play with integrity, helping others through useful advice, not getting reported yourself and having a very secure account. Make sure you change your password often, have changed your recoveries once, and if you ask Jagex questions through its CS, you are more likely to get noticed. Note that if your spelling, grammar, and/or attitude is atrocious ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ forget it.
can you rate my stats?or give me advice?
You have a choice, raise nothing and play Bounty Hunter as is until you get too much xp in the game to play in the lowest cave, OR rasie skills now to the point of having a chance in Bounty Huner, OR wait til the new 1v1 area comes out then decide what to train. If you go for option 2, you may as well go tank - get 80+ def, 40 attack and 90 strength with 31 prayer. You will still get spanked by the 99 strength pures, and 99 rangers in the 100cb cave though.
level suggestions
The majority of pures you will face in the 50-55 range are Range/R2H pures. The dominate in that range of levels, and you should be thinking along those lines aswell eventually. Its only in the 65+ combat range that strength pures begin to whallop range/R2H pures and thats the ones who still have 1 def/1 prayer. Most have 31 prayer by the time they hit the 60+ combat level leaving them out of thier depth once prayer runs out. BH allows you to escape though and auto refills your run AND prayer. You can easily reach the 54 combat level by staying at 30 attack, 80 strength with 40 range only for dhide and leveling your range up through failed curse. You will have a whopping 70+ hitpoint level, but be warned you cannot raise your attack once you have chosen this road least you go over the horrible 55 level and be in the midst of level 95 + tanks (thats me btw :P) 55 is an awkward combat level to have for Bounty Hunter, as you cannot be a maxed ranger/R2H user (77range, 77 strength) - test it out once you are combat 50 with 30 attack, if it works go whole hog to be 80 str level 54 :) If not, get those extra 10 attack levels.
Should I still keep my pure?...
That summarises half the reason why they are removing drop trading anyway. Well done. =D> Keep the account, it may be useful in the future. I thought that drop trading was already gone? I haven't played in a while, how long will items say on the ground? You are right, drop trading is already gone. BUT you can still do unbalanced trades with a mate - if you want your pure to have 10 scims, and a few hundy strength pots, 1k lobs etc ready to do battle - then best get on with transferring those goodies now. To the self righteous who say this is the reason for Jagex stopping trading over 3k - get off your high horse this istant - it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a shieffield pony, not a stallion. Stocking your pure up with goodies has no bearing on Jagex enforcing balanced trades.
-
I can't take the only reason I'm going there into the arena.
Suggestion: Send this in as a bug, range pots, strength pots etc are able to be brought in - so should mind bombs. You never know - they may actually incorporate it into a future update and you can say "I suggested that!"
3 Combat, high slayer?
That̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s level 35 slayer, not 74. They are ranked 74th in the clan for slayer. Can be done through rings of recoil and lamps easily enough, though would take a long time. This is assuming they do indeed have 1 in all combat skills, as runehead/RS highscores does not pick up any skill under 30.
New eggs being introduced for summoning
Time to plonk on the rabbits foot necklace and chop me some willow! I feel left out not having these new eggs in my bank! Must have fancy eggs, must have fancy eggs!
-
Before becoming a member: preparations
60 attack is nice, so is having a heap of emerald rings, and saphire necklaces prepared ready to enchant. (50 emeralds, and 20 saphires will see you through the first month of P2P.) Questing will be your first priority though - to open up new areas and weapons. Laws will be gobbled up a lot faster in P2P, so either have a few hundred of them in your bank or enough cash to buy some (or run laws for a few hundred of them)
-
New eggs being introduced for summoning
If its tradeable, I would plonk it onto GE straight away with an enormous asking price - 22M and buy a santa :) If not, nice find and hopefully the first of many more to come :)
merchant success with GE?
In one of the latest news posts from jagex they stated that there is not a floor price for maples, but they will be intorducing a shop that will buy the logs for a minimum price which will also make that the floor price for maples on GE. People are speculating that this floor price may be 51gp which is the cost to produce them in Manage Thy Kingdom. hence people are buying up all surplus logs in the hope that they do indeed sell for 51gp in the shops one day. If however the shops buy for 40gp, they will lose quite a bit of money!
Before becoming a member: preparations
The few ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅOh Man̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ things for me would be: Normal logs ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ I wish I had 3-400 of these stockpiled in my bank before going P2P. Cutting and fletching the first 20 or so levels of fletching got old quite quick for me, but once willows came round it was plain sailing. Oak logs for construction ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ just stockpile what you can On the whole though it was the other way around for me, i.e. Oh Man, why did I waste my time doing that in F2P when I could have done it in ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâü the time in P2P!
-
Why do you still play runescape?
I did PK often (almost daily) as a solo pker at edge. Mainly in P2P, and sometimes F2P. Recent updates have of course changed they way I play. Now I see if there is a cluster of mates all on 1 world (they would be in Clan Wars or BH), if so, I join them - otherwise I go train slayer, range, def or look at a skill I haven't touched for a while and get a level every now and then. I play differently, and the adrenaline rush of pking at edge is gone. Bounty Hunter is no match for 1v1 at edge, as when you are in a team the fear factor is diminished significantly.
-
Should I still keep my pure?...
1) What combat level is your pure? If its 50-55, then it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s going to do OK in Bounty Hunter. Anything over 55 though and its not going to do very well against level 95 tanks! 2) Bounty Hunter is designed for teams, and as such you need to have a group of mates who are well organised to take down other teams. Practice in clan wars til you get your piling down, then use those techniques in BH for some rewards. 3) Jagex have stated that they will be bringing out a 1v1 area in 2008, so I would hang onto the pure in the meantime. DO NOT get def or prayer on it if you are staying F2P, and if you are under level 55, then train up your range/strength to max out 1 level below it (you will gain the extra combat level playing BH later anyway.) 4) You will not be able to drop trade anything to your pure after 1 Jan, so make sure he is well stocked prior to this date.
-
Bounty Hunter is HORRIBLE!
So its OK for you and 2 mates to go in and KO a guy soloing, (3 v 1) ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ but when 9 attacks your group of 3 (again 3 v 1) you rant that it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s not fair? Gimme a break. Or did your 2 mates leave you alone to wait out the 3 minutes? If so, blame your mates, not the system.
-
starting over
As a member, train up your agility first - this will speed up your entire playing for a long time to come. Next train magic - you will be wanting to teleport all over the place on a regular basis. Next train up whatever spins your wheels, wether mining, hunting, combat, range etc.
-
The strong adapt, the weak quit
I do not like the fact there is no 1v1 area to pk in - dueling is not my thing, I like a risk/reward game. I play primarily to 1) gain money/supplies for pking, 2) train stats better for pking, 3) Quest to get better weapons etc for pking. I am now forced to pk in a multi area, and while I can adapt to that, my one true love of the game (1v1 pking) is now gone. This lessens the enjoyment I get from the game, along with many others. To rant about people complaining about the updates is pointless. Its a fact that people are not pleased, you best live with that too.
Wrong AGAIN, Jagex... Calculus 101 revisited?
Problem not solved. This would allow a bot with 20m wcing xp to xfer all his chopped goods each time he fills up a load (40k per 15mins). This equation favours xp and total levels too highly when clearly Jagex want QP to be the prime factor on how much you can xfer. A rune scimmy every 15 mins is not to be sniffed at, but what needs to happen is the rather a set gp limit, make it so the trade barrier is a % instead. You can buy from GE less 5% of market price so why not extend these limits to be +/- 10-15% OR 30k (whichever is greatest)
