  1. Pros: Less bots/RWT (I guess), there is no temptation to cease grinding to go pk for an hour or so = quicker levelling (can't believe that̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a pro!). Tons of people quitting and hosting large drop parties = lots of farewells and catching up with people I haven't see for ages. Con: Tons of people quitting as thier prime reason for playing was to solo pk. Demand for pking supplies will reduce significantly, which will further reduce the prices for those items in GE. With floor prices in effect, this means that for many people they will NEVER be able to sell products made through skilling, or items required for skilling (food, pots, armour, weapons etc). Few people will take in darkbow, Godswords, 3rd age etc into Bounty Hunter, so expect prices on those to drop significantly also. Great KOing weapons are often not the best training weapons, and with solo pking dead, the best training weapons will be the main weapons in demand.
  2. I agree. I tried out the clan wars and BH last night, and clan wars was a heap of fun, but it does get a tad boring quite quickly. There is no reward for effort/skill ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ just the knowledge that your clan defeated another. Then I tried out BH in F2P, for me it seemed just like clan wars except you do get the reward for effort/skill with a few major flaws. 1) After you get a kill, and your mates decide to leave ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ you might be stuck there for 3 mins all alone packing full rune! 2) If you have attacked someone, fought a bit and then get jumped on but escape through the exit, then restock and go back in ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ you can get an instant message that your opponent died and you get a 3 minute countdown off the bat! 3) No solo areas to enjoy most what I did before ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ pking at edge. This is what I played RS for mostly, and used to train my stats to become better at it. What now? Tried out BH in P2P which was very sad indeed. 100 1 itemers carrying DDS, with the occasional barrager thrown in for good measure. Unless you are in a large team, forget about setting foot in Bounty Hunter. The highscores table reflects those in a large team, not those who have the most pking skill. I am unlikely to go back to Bounty Hunter ever, unless my clan makes an event that forces me there. This will change the way I play RS massively, and will lead to me just training skills, or monster hunting. I for one hope summoning is something magnificent, and something that can be used to help out ex solo pkers.
  3. There needs to be an area where non-multi pking can still occur. Surely Bounty hunter where a single player gets highlighted on highscores should be that place?
  4. Imagine the number of level 60+ woodcutters up for sale soon :P Anyway ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ accounts don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t generally go for much anyway, and most is done using RS cash ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ i.e. a decent pure with 90+ range/mage may fetch 10M RS geepee, which is $40US. As an hourly rate to get a character to those levels WITHOUT being able to droptrade supplies is going to be pitiful to say the least ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ so I for one do not see character selling as being the next RWT problem. What may be a problem is training of your current character for RL cash. I.e. hire a sweatshop worker at $1/hr to train while you are at school/work etc and have some shiny new levels a few days later without touching the mouse. IP tracking may be able to id this, if so ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ we have nudda to worry about! If not, expect pay to train shops to be opening̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ. erm about now.
  5. Before this update: Multi pking with a few mates or clan, or solo pking in non-multi were the two options. I for one did both, and usually spent an hour or so solo pking each day while pk̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢d once or twice per week with mates in multi. After update: I cannot solo pk anywhere. I am forced to use bounty hunter which will have me swiped in seconds unless I too arrange a few mates to help me out. Time to train mage up and barrage the snot out of folks trying to hurt my team mates I guess :( Make Bouinty Hunter non-multi, or at least split 50/50 - then I have a game I can still enjoy to the fullest.
  6. Who does this affect the most though? Pures, pro-pkers, those who monster hunt boss monsters in teams and want to share the loot, people who host parties to distribute goodies amongst friends, etc. Pures and pkers can still go to Bounty hunter, but loot sharing and a private party is no longer available. I hosted a clan training competition recently and gave away 3M in prizes, this was a great success for the clan, but alas with the 3k limit we can no longer do this same event :( imo this will mean more players will concentrate on skilling and have less contact with mates = poorer community?
  7. Stats here: Budget: Lower than 2M What I use the account for ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ F2P clan pking, P2P solo pking at edge using range only, general monster hunting, and the occasional skilling burst. What my goals are: 99 Range, currently training on slayer assignments. Previously hunted well over 12k fire giants. Each time I pk a whip, I have bought grey chins and used them at ape atol tunnels, otherwise its fire giants. Melee (in order of preference) 70 def (almost there) 80 attack 90+ strength Currently train only on slayer assignments, or on flesh crawlers to gain rannar herbs for prayer pots. 85 Mage one day, but not too sure how to finance it. Last 2 levels have been through alching drops, teleporting around, and occasional alching bursts of yew longs.
  8. Last time I fletched, I bought Yews at 300gp each. I have never sold a yew in my life! People getting base resources, are selling for a lower price than 2 weeks ago BUT they have more pruchasing power per gp as well. Deflation in RS means that people with cash have more purchasing power, and those who have thier wealth stored in goods are losing money. There are exceptions of course, but the majority of goods that are in high supply are falling.
  9. A market like RS cannot "explode". With a 5% max shift per day, it will merely self correct any massive error slowly over time. Yews were 300-330ea not that long ago, and yes they are around the 400ea mark now. Partly due to the decrease in nats price, and partly due to the irritating nature of getting them yourself. Yews are the best way to raise cold hard cash while getting experience at the same time - so it's understandable that the demand for these has risen. Becasue your cash can buy a whole lot more, high alching at a profit is in higher demand, hence higher yew prices.
  10. What is happenening is that the players are determining the 'value' of items, rather than merchanters. Supply and demand is more fluid now, and items with an oversupply (sup attack pots, whips) are dropping in price. There are items that have plateaued at a steady price. Archer helms cannot be bought at the lowest price, nor can black masks. Why? Because the sellers are not willing to put up the items for the lowest price even if it means waiting a few days for the goods to sell. Until this happens with the oversupply of stock, prices will continue to fall. Look at cooked sharks, and monks - 650ea for cooked sharks, and 230ea for cooked monks. Oversupply of both products means the only way to get rid of them is to sell at the lowest price. The GE was not flooded with junk, never was. People were simply trying to sell product they did not have an immediate use for, and saw many items in their bank that were previously difficult to sell. With GE, the items are very easy to sell at minimal effort. Take clean herbs as an example. I had over 1k kuarms/lants/clands etc of clean/unclean variety. I can't use any of them so was happy to sell them on GE at lowest price. A good cash boost for me, and a herby was happy with lower than usual prices for herbs - we are both happy. So who is moaning that prices are lower today than 2 weeks ago? Merchanters are, thats who. They no longer control the prices, and are at the mercy of the GE. Merchenters who bought at high prices prior to GE have lost a ton of cash, while normal players are happy to be paying 2k less per prayer pot than previously and skillers are happy to pay 2k less per rannar weed.

I have around 15 of each, I'm just glad I never dropped em as I was planning to a while back to clear bank space! Watch the price of maples drop even further as people place 100% on maples over the next month or so to try and get more and more eggs. Hopefully tree seeds will drop in price too
  12. Find something they will like, and or use. E.g. I gave a pking mate of mine 10 rune scims and a cake on his birthday. We both had a bite of the cake, and he put the last 1/3 in his bank for keepsake. He used all the scims pkin, but 1 year later still has the 1/3 cake and we have a giggle about it often.
  13. I like bazza'a notion the best actually. 1) it would be a great way to see how good your opponant was, and 2) Might be a decent money drain of sorts. With the advent of the GE, another money drain so soon after its implementation would see prices of items fall even further (or limit their recovery)
  14. Mine would say "Here lies Nicealcoolj - yet again"
  15. 1) Use Shey as your bodyguard while you 1 item at Bounty Hunter. Plenty of lashings to be dealt out for every indescretion. 2) Fight pits, same as above :P 3) Increase Sheys looting level by spending 15mins at edge, ordering her onto piles. Once she has 4 looted item, announce "Congratulations Sheynara, you have gained Looting Level. Your Looting level is now 2" 4) A makeover is essential. 5) Have her be your bodyguard 1 iteming while you do wildy agu=lity. Announce to all passersby "Stay clear, or feel the might of my 1 item :p" 6) Do #4 1st :P
  16. They are tanking right now, down from 330 a month ago to what - 260ea now.
  17. Nice story :) Sorta reminds me of the countless times I've headed off to fire giants without my trusty rope! Those small required items can cause a lot of pain if forgotten ;)
  18. .. And it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s the 'items' part that makes everyone ponder. Why only a gravestone if you have items? It will make it easier to return to the spot you died and retrieve your accumulator/torso/gloves etc granted, but will this be the only difference? If thats all it is, I'll be happy. If it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a system where you stand to lose nothing when entering wilderness, they may as well change its name to safetyness.
  19. alcoolj replied to Alex_Ewan_1's topic in Rants
No, it means that there are truckloads of sellers selling at minimum prices, and they all must sell before your ones 4gp more will move.
  20. How would that deter RWT? A mule with gp/items goes to wildy, gets beaten up and the buyer gets his gp. IF the buyer has to go to a specific place to redeem the corpse/bones of his victim for the gp however, Jagex could then track the large cash exchanges that came from non standard pking items (stack of cash, logs, fish, etc). This would be detrimental though to a genuine pker who spotted a mule, killed it and got caught by Jagex̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s tracking device as a RWT̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢er. Speculation on the gravestones, and their purpose is fairly pointless. Can̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t wait for it to come out, I just hope it does not affect the way I play. I play to pk, with some moderate skilling to earn some cash for resupplying all the stuff I lose in wildy :)
  21. I have an idea on this one. Jagex may have screwed up the listing. My son and I tried every search that we could think of to find DDS on GE, but we couldn't find any. It should be under ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅDragon Dagger p++̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  22. And that would be a right royal shame. Never, ever have we lost XP permanently, and allowing the rich to keep their more expensive trinkets is so wrong I can̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t begin to explain it. I hope this is not part of their thinking. The mini-games sound awesome, esp Bounty Hunter. If clan wars are not F2P, I won̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t be using it. My clan only wars F2P, like so many others. I am looking forward to the Dev Diaries, more hints on summoning and RWT will make for interesting reading. Xmas update ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ meh, I could take it or leave it. Depends on the goodies we get I suppose. If it̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s a wearable gift I can use at parties I will do it. Gravestones ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ has the potential to make pking a little bit more fun, get rid of looters, or plain ol take away the reason to pk in the first instance. It will be interesting to see what they come up with. New monsters: If they are slayer monsters, I doubt if I will be able to kill em anyway! Spiritual Rangers I can kill, but spiritual dark beasts ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ what, 95+ slayer to kill? OMG ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ wonder what goodies they will drop? Exciting times as usual :) *must train slayer for next 2 years to get 95*
  23. But its nice to ponder isn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t it? The interesting part of the BTS is ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâ¦Ã¢â¬ÅIf you die while holding an item̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâæÃÆââââ¬Å¡Ã¬ÃâÃ
  24. I love buying cooked sharks for 650ea in GE, and rune bolts, weapon super poison, super sets, and pretty much everything else for cheaper prices than they were a week ago. Buy things while they are cheap, don't sell when they are cheap - there endeth sales lesson 101 :)

Consider this: Since the GE opened its doors, how much have you offered up for sale that you never would have previously? Calculate that across 1 million P2P and you should get a grasp of the extent of impace the GE is currently having on the marketplace. Before GE, many people didn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t offer their 10k cooked sharks, because they could not be bothered sitting in a bank selling, or posting and repeatedly bumping topics in RSOF. Now every man and his dog are able to put up products, and walk away happy in the knowledge that it only took a minute or so to place it in the GE with a possibility of it selling. So there is currently a massive influx of product on the marketplace, which is driving prices to new lows in some cases. Whips, coal, and iron are at lows not seen since I started a few years ago. (I bought a whip for 1.27M yesterday) Will they go back up? Who knows, only the demand/supply chain will dictate how low the prices go, and to what extent they will bounce back. Some people would have lost out on potential pre GE profit, merchers who missed the initial bargains will be stuck with product they can no longer shift at above the bought prices pre GE, but most normal players (like me) have new found wealth through emptying what were worthless items for me, but treasures to others. Skillers (like you) who have massive amounts of end product will find it hard to shift them until the supply/demand equalises.
