If you like def, stick with your main. A 1 def pker is great fun, and ought to be kept that way. Dont ruin it even further with def. I have a 40 attack, 87 stre, 1 def, 1 pray pure that owns up big time in F2P PvP, and I have a ball. 40 def, 44 pray would ruin it for me, even though I could train better, tank better in wars etc. It would put me up with the level 80 rune wearers, and no longer could I pk other pures. With the new wildy due to be released shortly, I would stick with your 1 def pure until such time as all details are released. You dont want to ruin it now, only to find out that your 1 deffer would have ruled big time do you!

I have played with FF adblock on for the last couple of years or so for exactly the same reason. It used to lag me out when on clan trips, or when solo pking. If static ads were there, it would be no prob, but once the Zwinky ads appeared, I had to take aciton.

1 def until you have 99 attack, stre, range, mage and hp. Until then, never get more than 1 def. I am cb 61 with 40 attack, 86 str, and 84 range. 1 def and 1 pray, and eat up nublets with 10-40 def for breakfast.

get 70 range at minataurs, or lessers. Minataurs for the easy arrows, and ore - or lessers if you have a spare 20k arrows to blow.

As a main in F2P mid crater, you will be up against maxed pures. Full rune is a must, and NEVER do a no arm fight. You will get spanked. Take your trusty scimmy, and a R2H for a KO weapon. Use tele's sparingly, as you will more than likely get killed by teleing into the midst of a clan in the middle. Try to hook up with a few mates to reduce your likelihood of death. Stock up on 1 4 dose str pot, and the rest swordies. Have fun, and expect to die a lot.

Is "Nice weather" a better convo starter? Talking about the skill you are both trying to train is the perfect opener, so why get peeved about it? You ought to have your public on private, or friends if you dont want to talk about random things to random people.

I am always choosing a lamp, and getting some much liked agility xp, a skill I hate training. I get a random or 2 each day, maybe 1 every couple of hours. I like em more than before, but a new pure would not, as I got a lot of cash from the gems I scored from randoms.

I always put it on agility - cant stand training it, yet it gives me good boosts!

Pure mages kick butt in PvP from cb 30-35, then your pure is going to get beat up by every ranger there is. They are a lot of fun, although expensive to train. I would suggest you train range aswell as your mage to 1) get some hitpoint xp NOT associated with maging, and 2) to earn some gp. Train using failed curse, or teleports/alchs if you are rich. Train range using bronze arrows on minataurs once you are 20 range. Do chickens up to 20. Keep all noted stuff, and all arrows. Good luck!

74 str, 70 range, and range/R2H your way to awesomeness. Stay 1 pray and def til you are at least 60 combat. Its a waste of combat levels until you have 90+ strength and want to limit yourself to pking close to altars, and/or want to protect your R2H constantly (bad)

When I went to school, it was almost unheard of to own a computer, let alone one that could play games, and WWW wasn't invented. I got a ZX spectrum for my 11th buirthday, and though all my Xmas's had come at once. Oh the joy of playing Jetpac! There is an emulator I have bookmarked that plays all old speccy games :) In the last couple of years at high school, they bought a few Apple 2's, and we wrecked em up good n proper! Now I am an old fogie, and try to coerce others into playing, as yet not with much success - I will get my 1st victim soon though. My missus's friends son who is 11 plays though :oops:

Don't let the pure noob get to you. Just because you could easily KO him, he hates you. So just challenge him/her to a duel and take care of it right then. Shuts them up every single time. (Some even log or run away before we fight. ^_^) You are just as bad if not worse that the people the topic author wrote about. "Pure noob... main can easily KO them..." etc - this is equally as impressive as people calling me a def nub, or pures calling you one. Mains do NOT have KO potential - I repeat - DO NOT. They have defence which they hope will see them eat long enough to last a fight until everyone has eaten all food and wear their opponant down through shear eating skills. A main my level (60) cannot hit 25's with a R2H, nor hit 14's with addy arrows. I happily accept all fights/duels with player of similar combat level as me. I would go 5 levels higher if need be, but after that its too much difference. Likewise I would not expect someone 5 levels lower than me to stand up to a beating they will surely get. Pures do not train on monsters that hit 20's. You know very little about how pures train their skills - so don't pretend you do. They train at a slower rate, gain less gp, to become better pkers. They do not want to buy godly armour, or expensive garb -unless it provides them with better attacking stats in battle. We do not lust for gold, we lust for blood on the battlefield. Learn that, and you may begin to see what makes a pure tick.

Def nubs, str nubs, food nubs etc are all just names people use to hurl abuse. Don't like it? Stay away from PvP, BH etc. As a 1 def, 1 pray pure, I have been called a def nub too many times to count - yet I have 1 def!!! I kill rune wearers the same way as other pures, although with less success, but a lot more impressive none-the-less. Hitting 14-24 on rune is a lot of fun - which is why we make pures in the first place. We make them to pk with - not to do quests, train farming, or solo Bandos. When a level 60 main enters the PvP, or BH arena they ought to be aware that they are now in the realm, and domain of pures - they are extremely vulnerable with their low hitpoints and inability to KO. Not all pures are name callers, just like not all mains are either. Don't lump us normal players in with the name calling bunch just because we train differently than you do.

Bounty Hunter ought to be top priority. Pkers are awaiting their runecrack en masse. New lands galore I foresee but no sailing skill to go with it. A new quest, and perhaps a grandmaster one. No mechscape or mobilising armies. Jagex have been warning us for a while that they will be late with these. Expect them Mayish.

I believe most trades in BH were trading between accounts - i.e. a main gifting items to his pure etc, rather than trading items for real life cash. I realise its hard for Jagex to tell the diff, and in any case ppl are breaking rules. As for the new rules: 1) Limiting the value of items brought in - this will cripple the higher level players who pk with godswords etc. The legit flashy players in F2P who use thier sara to lure attackers will get penalised. 2) Better rewards are definately needed, even 3x is still very poor. Items rather than cash would be great - esp BH ones that you could never lose upon death for example. Loads of opportunity here - but a measly 30k for 20+ hours of pking is miserable. 90k is just as pathetic. 3) Better targeting is greatly needed. At present lower BH is only good for levels 53-55, it wil be great to see some lower levels having a blast and same for level 56-85 who are currently far too low to survive in mid level crater. A much needed update here. Sounds good except the gp value restrictions - depending on what it tis, I guess - but godsword owners and sara set owners beware! I bet TT sets will decrease a lot in the coming days until the news is delivered.

Get 60 mage then pk as a pure mage. You will do quite well with your hp high, though range/R2H'ers at 45 combat will spank you - do not try to compete with them. Once you are sick of maging, or broke - train up your range, and strength until range is 70 and stre is about the same. You will be around the 52cb mark, and good for bounty hunter low rater, or P2P as a range/R2H'er. Stay 1 def, and 1 prayer until much later - i.e. at least 62 combat. 1 def, 1 prayer owns in PvP between 56-63 combat, just stay away from Rune tanks.

^ What he/she said. I have shown many players how to do waterfall wuest, lead them to the fire giant safe spot, and after 20k kills have I attained a single dragon drop - nope! Karma does not exist in RS. It's all luck.

F2P: Fastest is ranging dark knights from a safe spot on white wolf mountain - power range these til 99. It is the fastest spot in all of F2P - though you don't ever get your arrows back. Use bronze arrows always to minimise your losses. Moss giants are an OK alternative but you get less xp there. You do make a small profit however. After 85 range, you ough to go to Ankous - these make more cash than mossies, and are a little better xp once you hit high and often. P2P - Grey chins til 90, then reds til 99 - the fastest by a country mile, though you'll be shelling out close to 45M for the privelage! A lot less hurtful on the pocket, and make some cash is to range fire giants with bronze knives til around the 80 mark. If you have decent defense, you should head over to avianses and use B2P tabs, or spells to tank these. You can easily make enough cash from 80-95 to chin the rest of your way to 99. Good luck!

Alt codes creating µ caused others around you to crash out of RS. If you had public off, then you would stay while all who had it on would crash out.

0181 no longer crashes you and others out - so a fix so far it seems, though have heard of some people getting p'd since the latest update then instantly crashing out with the same screen - so I'd stay away from dangerous areas for now.

By now you have probably 50+ range lolz, but anyhoo go to minataurs directly, and range away til 70. You can easily get to 77 range and be under 56 combat, and use non hp gaining spells to raise your mage. You will be a great addition to any pking group, but will struggle in solo pking, as you do not have a KO attack. You will be fighting other range/R2H fighters who can inflict a 22 on you at combat 55 , while you are dishing out those 13s with addys. Even if you use fire blast its only a 16 and ranger equipment is not very compatible with blasting. Good luck in whatever you chose.
