6th May 2009 - Bounty Hunter Wilderness-only PvP
alcoolj replied to Kirderf123's topic in General Discussion
Now try that in F2P. Someone with 60 mage casting fire blast has no chance against full rune. I can't hit often enough to get them to take off the armour to start hitting with a scimmy. Am yet to see any measure of success against full rune with magic in F2P. -
Untradeables are lost in BH, so 1 def ftw. You also will not be 90 hp at 90 str, 85 range/mage. I have those stats and have 84 hp. Only 1 str level is through soul wars. So I have not been neglecting hp along the way too much.

And now this thread can be deleted for surely the only place to go now is Edge on BH worlds.

I do agree. There ought to be a maximum limit based on what you risk. I got a 120k drop a few minutes ago, when all I risk is 40k on each death. Also - In the 2 hours of pking, I have only once been assigned a target. I have changed worlds to get to GE and back twice, but surely the timer does not reset once on a different world? Or maybe it does... -

Have tried it out, and I do like it. It resembles pking in wildy enough to tickle my fancy, and I know that as long I'm not against a 1 itemer or prayer then I will get some loot. The type, and extent of loot is often higher than that your opponant loses, and sometimes less. I have died about 5 times, losing R2H and ranger gear in F2P, and have won about 15-20 times. To date I have made a 200k profit from pking in about 1.5hrs through decent rune drops. Not bad for a F2P pker who pk's for fun not cash! There are bugs being abused though, especially when fighting your target. You can get 2 hit when your opponant eats then hits. If someone else hits you while your opponant eats, you get 2 hit. Not tragic on F2P servers, but would be deadly in P2P I would imagine. Haven't yet ventured to Gdz, so someone go these n let us know whats up! -
Non-traditional sources of raw materials

Even pures have options. I camp at fleshies and have a fury +5M because of herb drops, iron ore drops (noted) and runes. -
Summon was to blow some cash, but means nothing in PvP due to not counting if I don't use scrolls - and I only PvP in F2P so it never counts. Ugly 1's are pretty to me :) I make cash through monster drops, and I'm a pker, not a skiller so 1's are normal? I prefer 1 pray atm, but its the 1st one to raise when I have to. Once I'm 99 str, 99 range, 31 prayer I will get 60 attack through P2P quests.
-
Rate/hate my F2P pure. Remember, although I have some P2P stats, and train P2P, I only ever pk in F2P areas. Have trained almost exclusively at fleshies/crabs until I started SW from 90-91 str. Am currently combat 63, and will continue to train strength til 94, and then train range to 91 maxing out my range/R2H offensive at combat 66ish. Will be leaving pray and def at 1 until after those stats are reached, then will most likely get 31 pray (haven't decided for sure yet though). Cash is not an issue thanks to the drops from fleshies.

Well I hope that BH is tomorrow. With months out of action on the BH front, wildy being reborn will be a very welcome update. Can't wait!!!

If 99 str is so common, should I feel proud to get it?
alcoolj replied to Neilson1111's topic in General Discussion
99 strength is an awesome achievement - congratulations. Your friend is in the minority - most are in awe of any 99 stat. I got 99 ranging after about 3 years playing, getting up to 77 in f2p, then 77-96 doing fire giants, then some avianse/chining from 97-99. I had people say it wasn't a real one because I used chins! I ignored them, and felt better for doing so :) Revel in your new found cape, and show off as often as you like. No matter what it is, no-one can take it away from you. You earned it, and deserve all the recognition you will get from it. -
Suggestion: Quit this, spend a day getting the same stats but with 1 pray. You will be up against a wall for the next month or two with those pray levels. If you must keep it, you may as well get 31 pray, 40 attack, 60+ strength before you attempt pking. Range/R2H'ers will be tearing through you though. It's awkward to pray switch between range/str but it can be done.
-
For me, only the first one should be continued with any great effort. Get him 40 range to wear green legs and vams, then carry on with your strength training. Stay 40 attack, 1 def, 1 pray until you are at least 90 strength. At 90 str, 84 range you will be around 62 combat and be lethal against all you come across, with the exception being level 75 99 str, 31 pray pures. Run away from people hitting 26's on you with scimmys. Your other accounts with 50 attack, 10 def are all doomed unless you intend to make them members.
-
Sounds OK for F2P, although the terrorbirds are hard to beat for P2P. I hope the benefits for P2P make them a worthwhile option compared to birds.
-
I run from a main only if they safe. If they do not allow me a sniff of winning, then why waste food on them? I give them a chance, so is it not fair the other way round?
-
Looks like a main to me. 60 def in F2P is never going to be a pure. You will be up against 99 range, 40 def range tanks who will wipe the floor of you. Even 99 str, 40 def rune pures will eat you up. I suggest you start a new pure with 1 def/1pray and stick to the game plan of keeping 40 attack til you have 95+str. Same goes for 1 def/1pray. Don't raise em on purpose until you absolutely cannot go further without them.
-
Nope, not profitable. You will lose if you pk in pauper gear, and when you die in good stuff, you lose multi mils. When you win, you might get d boots if you're lucky. Make money elsewhere, and pk to have fun, not to make cash. Welfare if you have to, but have fun and expect to die lots, and lose loads of cash.
-
I'm a level 61 and when 73's attack me, I walk away and say nty. I want to fight someone at least close to my level, not 20 strength levels away and 40 def to boot. Yes you are a noob for calling him names for walking away.
-
If he kept saying "I am gonna", or " I was thinking about", then Jagex will not ban him for account trading. You can say you thought about it, but unless you are advertising account trading, or talking about account sharing, i.e. "want to train x for me, ill give u my pass" etc, then no banhammer will be brought out.
-
^ Agree with that. We pk to have fun, not to waste time. We used to pk at edge as solo pkers, or in packs in Varrock or GDZ. To come up against others 11+ levels above you and get called names for leaving the fight in its infancy is juvenile. Most mains I see do the same so name calling for that is not reasonable. Most mains I fight do not understand the reason to wear a team cape, nor seem to believe a word we pures say. When asked my def/pray - mains say bs when I say 1. They don't believe 88 str either til I hit 25's on em, then they run away! Mains are not well practised in pking, nor do they understand the reasons why pures seem so good with low def. Often it is only because of a pures experience in pking worlds that they can beat mains, not just high hits alone.
-
Yes, the feud quest should help quite a bit. I would suggest doing masterfarmers till 41, and after that do p plunder. I did PP at 31, and it was still considerably faster than master farmers.
-
1) Do Feud quest if you havent already - easy xp, and a fast quest. 2) Do Pyramid Plunder til 53. Hands down faster than anything else. Check a guide for PP levelling, its easy and very fast - plus you cannot fail as such.
-
F2P, or P2P, and current combat? You have got 43 prayer way to early imo, as it limits your ability to pk for any length of time away from an altar. get 40 attack, 70 strength, and get 70 range to range/R2H in F2P, OR become a mauler and leave your attack as is and PK in P2P with rune xbow and maul.
-
Get 77, or 84 range. Range/R2H pking is the bomb in F2P. Im sure many range/R2Hers will be getting you in PvP. 50 attack will destroy your chances in F2P. Those 10 attack levels are 10 more strength levels your opponent will have, always remember that. These days you need to choose between F2P and P2P pking early. Once you are 99 str, then getting 50/60 attack will become the obvious next step, but you leave a lot of fun times behind if you choose levelling attack now.
-
I too have heard that if someone pks with range/dragon baxe instead of a R2H as the KO weapon, then you can safely pk for days without it disappearing. It seems to only degrade when you have it equipped, not just in your inventory. Just dont lose it though!
-
Just make sure you get void armour before you go chinning. It sure helps your chins gain that extra bit of extra xp. Definitely get greys only at your level, and with your gp limit. Reds are best only if you have tons of cash to get 99 with.
