  1. ^Again it has to be said, the government is not involved in the running of the proposed system. I feel we need some larger font to get that through. Why even have internet when we can use telephones, libraries, books, museums and physical speech to get information. Why use word programs when we have paper? Why use music players when we can tap our feet? Why innovate at all? Lets just go back to the dark ages because innovating is pointless? You and I may be able to remember passwords, but older generations cannot. Business' main targets are those of older generations who may not be as computer literate, who may have harder times remembering passwords for their banks and various shopping websites. They want mass appeal, which means they need a system which can be used to effortlessly make the internet easier to use for anybody that wants it so. Again, I see no problem with allowing a system which people who choose to can use to link all their profiles into one, more secure, easily accessible system. I think people are confusing corporations. The companies which would oversee this are companies which run the internet already for the majority including Google and Paypal. Do they suddenly want to ruin the internet? No, not one bit. They also are not scared of the internet, they want to make the internet better and more accessible for the masses. The companies who would oversee this are companies which need the internet to be working to make their money. It isn't companies that are scared of the internet, many have embraced it with open arms. It is the people that are scared of the internet. This would be a small step in bridging the gap between young people using the internet and older generations using it. I'm utterly confused by how scared people seem to get when the words government and corporation are used.
  2. Thinking about the corporations in another way, they need your money. It is in their best interest to make a system which is as good as it can possibly be so that you, as the consumer, can spend money safely and securely with very little effort. Them wanting money is a good thing in that direction.
  3. Ah, I would like to see proof of it. If true, yet another reason this armour will have no effect on the majority. The repair price however sounds very reasonable.
  4. Degrade them fully or degrade them slightly by going into combat? If fully, it's 100% lie. Not sure what you're saying. Also, it costs 10K per %, or 1m for a full repair. Just thought I'd throw that out there. Do you mean once they degrade to 0 they become soul bound or once you step into combat for the first time only degrading them slightly. (according to the rsof)
  5. Degrade them fully or degrade them slightly by going into combat? If fully, it's 100% lie.

Talk of breakfast is making me want to go grab a bowl of cereal.
  7. I'm not a fan of the new armour (mellee). Too many sets now seem to look the same. I wouldn't be able to distinguish it from CW armour and some dungeoneering armour.
  8. I agree. As I said earlier in this thread, for the majority, especially in PVP, this armour may as well not exist. If they want life point boosting armour to actually have an effect, add it to all existing armours, much like damage soaking or bring various sets ranging from low to high level. Also, as I'm currently F2P, can anybody post some of the lore which the banker explains?
  9. It's called innovation. May I ask which things you are reading which are making you dislike it? I personally can not see one thing which makes this worse for anybody.
  10. I have a feeling that's why you need multiple people. One or two to tank nex (if possible), then one to four people to take down the mages.
  11. That saves your passwords onto the computer you are on though. The system being proposed has a chance of getting rid of passwords with other methods (as shown above). It isn't a system to remember your passwords, it's a system to replace passwords.
  12. Has anybody actually managed a kill on nex yet? Wondering what her secondary drops are like.
  13. Well, at the price these armours are at, I can't see them being anything other than new spirit shields, totally unattainable by the majority, having little to no effect on most people's gameplay. however, with the free trade update, that could hopefully change. But for the moment, the armours may as well not exist for most people.
  14. That brings up some great points which unfortunately, many people have not read and just decided to comment with knee jerk reactions knowing nothing of what is going on beyond the title. Things to highlight: This could potentially be more secure than passwords we currently have, and would have no government control. I'm failing to see any negatives here at all.
  15. Are people that lazy/irresponsible that they can't keep track of their own passwords? Yes? Add forgetful into that. There is a need, lets fill that with an invention. I see no problem here? It wouldn't be forced, those who feel they can remember everything could carry on remembering, those who can't, if they have too many names, are older and aren't as good at remembering or simply don't want to have to remember, won't have to.
  16. I was making sure I didn't read this due to not knowing if the second half of the season had been shown in the US, took the plunge and find out it's been cancelled? Damn. I actually preferred it to Atlantis. It was different but worked. Some episodes were slow, but the faster paced ones were very good. It's a real shame, I wanted to know what's at the Destiny's target point.
  17. No, that is 100% correct. It HAS simplified social interaction, but in the grand scheme of the world and it's history, that's really unimportant compared to the large potential market for businesses. And don't say anything about Facebook being evil because I never did nor did anyone in this thread. And about the losing passwords: PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. Live with it. I disagree, facebook has brought many people to the internet who previously wouldn't use it. That is what it will be remembered for. How many of the over 60's currently on the internet have started using it because of facebook? It's a little like the Wii, it is looked down upon by gamers, yet it has brought massive amounts of money into the business and many people into the gaming area. Mass appeal has made Facebook massively influential in society and communication. Passwords: Yes it is personal responsibility, but that's only because a comprehensive system stopping it from being so hasn't been released yet. What is so wrong about a system making the internet easier to use for the masses? Are people that opposed to change?
  18. Argh another frustrating duel. Absolutely punishing a guy, I was spamming "Attack Smite Kick Heal Pray Punch Strike ", had him with about 1/2 of my hp, so I decide to got to the toilet. Come back, he had punished 4 times and I was at 18 hp, by the time I could act I had lost. :wall:
  19. Notepad. Or a pen and paper. I wonder if this could be used to make it easier to identify torrent users who download music and movies? And what if one were to lose said piece of paper? People don't seem to be grasping what this is. It isn't, for example, an addition to your IP saying your name or anything which Identifies you if you don't want somebody to. It would be in place of a username or password on a website which would then identify you through that. Imagine going onto Amazon and instead of having to log in, it already knows who you are because you have such an ID? The same with any other site with this enabled which would need a username or password. I wouldn't mind something like this, especially with all the hastle I've been through before trying to prove my identity on the internet.
  20. Guys, remember not to talk negatively about players when they have no chance of defending themselves. It is not fair to them and doesn't help their reputation to have a one sided argument about them here. Any more and action may be taken. Thanks
  21. So what does the government have to do with this now? That I'm not so sure.
  22. Good picture, although he looks slightly 2d, which has been tilted to the side, not sure if that's what you were going for (as if he is a card tilted sideways). If it is, very good picture.
  23. This is an interesting point. How many of us already use our real identities for numerous things on the internet? Social networking, shopping and banking? It really only seems to be forums/comment systems on the internet where people don't want identities shown. I do worry about people losing some freedom of speech, but really, how far has the internet increased our freedom of speech so far? Many things seem to revolve around social networking where people actually use their real identities such as Facebook. I'm somebody who doesn't mind if people know my real identity, freedom of speech will not be stifled by identities. We have also survived for years without internet being needed for social changes, why all of a sudden is it the be all and end all? Also, this is, as said, voluntary. It would from what I understand be the same as entering your bank details on Amazon, then entering them on paypal. But instead of bank details, you would only need to enter your ID. This would also work on any other site using the system. Sounds like a good idea to me. EDIT: I'm slightly disappointed in every bodies view that a government only wants to control everybody else and let nobody have any freedom. They are voted in by you and everybody else, they have constitutions to abide by. We all have legs and voices, if you don't like the gov, use them. EDIT2: The Title, description and even the OP (not the quote) are incredibly biased and to anybody not reading the quote, make it sound as if the Gov wants to make the whole internet use REAL ID.
  24. Argh had a fight against a guy who just punished every turn. There is nothing you can do against somebody like that without wasting all of your charges. You need to get incredibly lucky with voices to have a chance. So annoying.
  25. I'm not 100% but I think charging for pictures, even with GP became banned before the RWT update.
