  1. What I'm wondering is how much trouble junk will turn into if the update goes through. Junk will lose all of it's value.
  2. Honestly, I can't see more than 2/3 of those votes being legitimate. After now, I doubt more than 1/4 of them are real. Those who play will have voted by now. Most of the votes from now on will probably be those put in by scripts. You will know if they are true votes or not depending on how long the trend rises in a constant scale.
  3. This is the last time I will give this warning. Any inflammatory posts on others opinions may be removed without warning.
  4. "Some people, you know, like how Runescape is now?" Nobody likes how rs is now. Not even Jagex. First chance they had to bring the wild back they took. An opinion, just like what I said is. You cannot possibly say people do not like how rs is now. It would be a total lie to try and say so. "Some people didn't experience it and don't believe it was better." It was better. And now they will have a chance to see Runescape in its prime. Ignorance isn't the best of excuses. Again, an opinion. "Some people don't want to have to wait another two years for Jagex to figure out how to rebalance the game with this in it." Faulty assumption. Basing your opinion off of a 'welllllllll maybeeeeeeeee this wont work right' is stupid. "Some people don't want even more economic instability" Was never a problem before 2007. With this update comes the end of inflation - no more statues. Economy will be in a better overall state. And you bashed the previous for being an assumption? We do not know how Jagex will impliment this. Statues may remain for all we know. However, we do know, for definite, that it will produce instability in the economy of the game. "Some people don't want the chance of Runescape going under" *Facepalm* Runescape has been at risk for going under SINCE 2007. Have you not noticed how hard Jagex has been trying to bring new people into the game??? Please look at the thread on this page of the forum looking at their finances. They did not tank, although we don't have the most recent reports, immediately after the update the company still grew. " Some people don't want to be even more inundated with bots" Sooo explain why in 2007 (and I'm taking a craaaaazy risk in assuming you supported jagexs decision) when Jagex said 'its our only option' or whatever; you believed them. But now that they say they've gotten new anti-macro tech in that can deal with the bots you think they are dead wrong? Explain this. Because at the time it as their only option? I saw just how bad the game was hit with bots then. And I can see just how bad it is hit with bots now. However, now they are skill training bots, not resource and money transferring bots. Bringing back free trade means we will be swamped with both. "Some people don't want to be inundated with people who have RWT'd." RWT never left, as you're probably already aware. This is unlikely to bring in much more, if any at all. It was never dead, but it did curtail it to an extent. Allowing it free rule means it has the opportunity to grow at a much faster rate. And finally; "For some reason, people in support seem to be blind to the negatives that will come with bringing it back, thus resorting to twaddle like what has been said." For some reason, people who are not in support seem to be creating false negatives that will come with bringing it back, thus resorting to twaddle like what has been said. cwutididthar. Answers in bold.
  5. 'Cry more' is not an appropriate comment for this forum. If you want to disagree with what somebody has said, argue with the comment. Inflammatory posts like that however in the future will be removed. If you think somebody else has said something inappropriate, report it but do not respond to it. If you do not want to post constructively, do not post. Thanks
  6. Yes that's the only reason  Some people, you know, like how Runescape is now? Some people didn't experience it and don't believe it was better. Some people don't want to have to wait another two years for Jagex to figure out how to rebalance the game with this in it. Some people don't want even more economic instability. Some people don't want the chance of Runescape going under. Some people don't want to be even more inundated with bots. Some people don't want to be inundated with people who have RWT'd. That is off the tip of my tongue. I know you want the update, but you opinion is an opinion much as mine. With something like this, there is no right answer. It all depends on playing styles. For some reason, people in support seem to be blind to the negatives that will come with bringing it back, thus resorting to twaddle like what has been said. EDIT: And it seems many who think Jagex never do things right are suddenly thinking they will implement this perfectly? I can guarantee the game won't be as it was 3 years ago.
  7. Please use this thread http://forum.tip.it/topic/283204-new-runescape-trailer/
  8. Even adding a 'no' option now would be pointless. So many of our usernames would now not count due to being used to vote yes. It either needs resetting with added 'no' option and login needed or scrapping altogether. Jagex can't use this to sensibly judge anything. How can you use it to test the interest in it coming back when for all we know, over half the votes could be false?
  9. We actually do not know how much damage could be done by bringing back free trade. We do know that it will do some damage at least however. We know it will have a massive impact on the economy, we also know there will be massive upheaval in playing styles for many. There could also be bugs occurring in such a large update which would effect such a large part of the game, and there would probably be frustration at the limits. Thinking that the game would revert to the exact same place as it was 3 years ago with no disruption is naive. It will do damage. What has come to my mind is an adverse one to those who have argued with others who do not want to the update because they didn't PK at the time. For years now, those who raged at the update have proclaimed how much better the game was and how much they want it back. They have looked back through rose tinted glasses (because the game was by no means perfect). This could also have impacted on those who have since made accounts and who also did not PK. To them, the past may sound better, making them vote yes. However, they do not know better. For all they know, they could hate how the game turns out if there is an update. Are their votes just as invalid as people who don't want the update in this situation?
  10. This is very relevent. Most people seem to relate a falling number of players to the Anti RWT updates, however, they have no full proof. This contradicts that view with them expanding still during that year. It will be very interesting to see 09-10.
  11. Illegal? Probably not. Vote rigging, yes. Corrupt, wrong, immoral, choose whichever term you wish. Maybe Jagex already have the update ready to roll and just wanted to legitimise it? Thinking it wouldn't get enough votes, they made it not need a password knowing their player base would cheat to get high enough votes? Bro I am pretty sure that the consesnus of the general public is that the vote is just for fun and that this update is clearly just a planned update. They probably have it all planned out and just wanted to run the poll to see how dedicated people were to rigging millions of votes. I wish that they would've done a legitimate vote though so that people like yourself could just see that the population of players who would actually oppose this revert are in the vast minority. Do you really think we need to have a vote on this? Do you really think that the people who are against this would win? Yes (82 votes [58.57%]) No (58 votes [41.43%]) That vote may not be as large, and may only be tip.it, but it is less of a throwaway vote that the Jagex one is. It doesn't show this vast minority you seem to think. As I said, i agree it probably is set to roll out and is just a farce.
  12. How is it not blatantly obvious that Jagex has every intention of bringing free trade and the old wilderness back regardless of how the vote pans out? That's exactly what I said. They can use the vote to 'legitimize' it to those who don't want it as they know the community will cheat the vote higher than it would be with passwords needed. If not they are just plain crazy.
  14. Or because I may not play constantly but still play the game? Just because you may play more hours than me does not make me less entitled to an opinion on the game. If we could remove any old update it would be skillcapes. I was not a full supporter of removing free trade, however, it will lead to another few years of unsettled game if the update goes through. The vote is a shambles. I cannot understand why you do not need a password to vote. It's madness.
  15. Please use this thread for discussions on the vote: http://forum.tip.it/topic/283107-wilderness-and-free-trade-vote/ Locking this thread as the majority of it has not been centred on the vote, but discussion on the events in MMG's clan chat. We feel the other thread is a better place to discuss the poll.
  16. I have merged the other two threads into this one. If you want to discuss the poll, please do it here. EDIT: Why can't I vote no?
  17. I don't see how people find it misleading. You have a chance of winning 10k, through winning 1k/month ish.
  18. Closing this due to there already being topic on this subject.
  19. Having not done many of the newer quests, who is Sliske? Is he, or 'it' powerful enough to have been a problem for all four other generals in the GWD. We have to remember, it isn't the gods themselves in the dungeon but generals of their army. It could always be a strong follower of a god behind the door.
  20. ...how? Zaros is trapped in another plane of existence entirely and wasn't around for the God Wars, I thought? That I didn't know. Who else is affiliated with the power of shadows and getting revenge?
  21. I doubt there would be anything directly behind it as there isn't really much room. I would more likely think it would act like stairs and link to another, maybe deeper dungeon? By the looks of it, with words like shadow and revenge, it does point towards Zaros. Also, could there actually be a way of opening it? Especially with a Jmod there. We have had things put in without being told before such as the shadow sword.
  22. (So far this is rumour but confirmation would be nice, but I don't personally have members right now) (Thanks to this thread 16-17-646-62037353 ) The frozen door in the god wars dungeon has apparently been updated today, emitting voices and having an open option. The door immits the following voices: "Give me the power of Shadow!" "The shadows lie in me forever!" "All those who oppose us will perish!" "My revenge will be great!" -------- Open Option -------- 'Try to figure out a way to open the door.' This gives us new insight into what may be put there and maybe even if it already has? Does anybody fancy going down to confirm this and maybe get some more information?
  23. I liked the seal sliding but it wasn't implemented to the best it could have been. Although it could have been my connection, you had to wait too long after clicking a direction to move which made actually dodging holes a bit of a pain. The rest of the event was great. I had no trouble with the statue room as when I got there there were probably only 4 others in the room. I'm glad they finally did an event without re-used content. And is this the first event with an actual useful reward (the hammer) we have ever had?
  24. So I'm not the only one getting the head crab reference? How do you get the cracker? EDIT: Are the scores in the heimland games just for fun?
  25. Rewards: Very fun event, the speech of the NPC's in the heimland games is hilarious.
