  1. Double post, but as this will probably change very quickly I needed to get a record of this, ELITEs at #1:
  2. Just has a duel with a 62/29 hero. I was hapilly 'Smite Attack Heal Pray'ing away for around 5 turns and gained about a 30hp advantage, when all of a sudden he starts doing exactly the same and punishing at the same time. I had no choice but to start punishing as well. Luckily one of his moves made my hero pray on the same turn my move made my hero pray so I went from about 10% up to 70% which was just enough as I ran out of power just as the fight ended. I had 26hp when he lost.
  3. YES way.... Arcane shield advantages aren't great: +3 magic attack (not very meaningful if you wear proper mage gear) +20 crush defense (who cares if your maging somebody with a cmaul your gonna flip sol special anyway and thats about the only weapon people use with crush that is tier 1) +3 prayer (I doubt you would notice it unless that the only prayer bonus you have) 0 range penalty (you range with it? why its for maging? Much better shields for that) Arcane shields disadvantages are very significant: No damage soak (this is significant because it stops the big hit ko's, I can't ever remember being koed on hit more than 200, probably because they coded it up wrong and apply the damage soak before figuring out if your dead or not) worth 67mil more (huge waste of time making the money to buy or getting on a drop, 4mil/gp an hr is a myth) I laughed. That's a good joke man ^ Exactly. 1. Your point about cost is absolutely wrong. You act as if Arcane's are 67m, and FSK's are free. WRONG. Learn how opportunity cost works. Even if you do consider FSK "free," it's tokens that could be used on other things. You can sell an Arcane back, you can't get a refund on your DG tokens. 2. Nobody uses SoL spec LOL. If you're a proper brid, you bring a spec weapon, claws/dds at least. People fight to kill, not to survive. 4 DDS/2 Claw specs go a lot further than blocking half a maul hit for 60 seconds in a fight. When people realise their melee attacks are halved, they will switch. That's what brids do. SWITCH. The only time I could see using a SoL special is when you are only maging. And nobody does that...It's too easily defended against. D'hide + magic protect, and your "only mage" setup just hit a brick wall. 3. As stated by people before, the soaks are barely noticeable. What difference does it make if you get hit a 500 or a 482(forget the actual value, but it was around this)? Either way, if your lp is that low, you're DEAD regardless. Try taking a trip outside of Soul Wars once in a while, things are a lot different in BH/PvP/Clan Wars. 1. For people who think 67m is a very large sum and is too much for a shield, worrying about other items, refunding and the time taken do not come into account. You forget not everybody does a rotation of money make, buy something, money make, buy something. There are plenty of players out there who want a good shield which they can attain through having fun at no cost. To those who can afford Arcane, the shield may not seem worth it, but it wouldn't. For those who cannot, it is a much better option. 3. The defence bonus of the shield is the main focus of it. The damage soak is an extra onto a shield which starts being very good. Any damage soaking is better than no soak. It is a regular shield with a bonus. NOT a bonus which has a shield attached. Small damage mitigation may not stop you getting Ko'd, but in the long run it can save you supplies.
  4. i wouldn't mind it getting a facelift, but it's our brand logo.
  5. Did you win? It works well if you manage to spam it every turn.
  6. My comment was poorly worded. What I mean is that, in the past, bug reports (even ones where I incited 50+ people on the forums to report the same incident) have been met with not only silence, but also go unresolved for years if at all, and never are added to the "known bugs" section of the site. They literally have no affect on Jagex's actions whatsoever- it's as if they don't even read bug reports. I'm not the one who decided chaotic shields should compensate for the offensive power of chaotic weapons- that's straight from Jagex's mouth. They said it I believe in the dev blog about the new hitsplats. Take it as you will, but their stated goal with the shields was a balance to the weapons. Reporting and moving on will not only do nothing, but also will keep people in the dark about the shields until they buy them. Jagex may like the idea of lying to customers, but I like it when people have the opportunity to make informed decisions, thanks. It all depends on what you report. Do not forget that Jagex only have a limited team of coders. Those will usually be fully occupied by updates. Small bugs which do not break the game will not be dealt with quickly as there is no need. It does not mean that they have not looked into it. Jagex have to prioritise, and by the size of the rants when they don't get an update out on time, they will obviously make those the priority. Non game breaking bugs will probably only be dealt with when a coder can take a look into it and has the time to fix it. Small bugs in a game of this size can be tremendously hard to find in the code and to figure out what is causing it. On reporting, it does annoy me to no end when I see people posting that they find bugs but do not report them, then blast Jagex for not creating a bug-free game.
  7. Spirit shields, the strongest shields in the game for each respective use. The most expensive shields dropped by what is probably the most powerful creature in the game. So, why is it whenever we get an update which brings a new shield into the game, does it get compared to these shields? The spirit shields are arguably the hardest items to get in this game. Not only are they only attainable from the strongest enemy outside of quests, it can only be attained in separate parts which need putting together. The shields were the first to offer extra bonus damage reduction added onto their regular defence. In a way, they were an experiment by Jagex. The problem with the shields however is that they were released too soon. Being the first with these extra bonuses, you can expect more in the future. And more did come, as rewards for the Dungeoneering skill. These new shields therefore got compared to the spirit shields because of them both having extra bonuses. Of course, it has been found out that these shields are not as good as the ones released earlier, which brings people to complain. Is it however, fair? It is fair to compare items which are incredibly hard to get, which take the highest of stats or massive amounts of money, to items which require much less effort to attain and much less time to attain. Here is the problem. Jagex released the best items first, which will always lead to the rest being inferior. This in turn brings complaints. Jagex made the mistake of making something super powerful and releasing it when they could have released something much less powerful, but still enough to satisfy people and their hunger for stronger items. This brings problems for the future. Jagex can either: Create something even stronger which will then dwarf the spirit shields, but would be even harder to get. These would then have to be worth billions in todays market and could unbalance the game. Create shields which are inferior which then get thrown to the floor in disgust as they can't stand up to the current best. This then, as I have said brings complaints. They are stuck in a hole as far as shields are now concerned. Their mistake was to create something incredibly strong instead of a slow gradual change and increase. What I am saying, in short, is that it is unfair to compare spirit shields to others and then complain when the other shields can't stand up to them. Jagex have made the mistake which they now cannot undo.
  8. I actually just canceled my membership as a final push off the edge from this update, probably for good. I only renewed it after the BTS mentioned new Dungeoneering rewards. (ROFL) Now we find out that dungeoneering shields are even worse than originally thought. On top of this, I'm sick of how stupid JaGeX is in general - currently referring to how knowledge base is ALWAYS wrong about EVERYTHING and it's the official website. This means that the dungeoneering rewards have been wrong for a year now? Don't know how long the skill has been out. They have had wrong information in the game ITSELF AS WELL. But now we find out shields are actually 7%-14% and it's not even say 300-14%... it's 300-200-14%. Someone did some quick math somewhere and Jad has to 1-hit you to soak a 3 digit number. I mean really, wtf is with all these limits on shields anyway. EVEN WITHOUT LIMITS THEY STILL SOAK LESS THAN SPIRIT SHIELDS. But another of the over 9000 idiot things of JaGeX, is what you have pointed out - the equip screen doesn't show spirit shields soaking damage. Wtf? Dung (crap) shields don't ALWAYS absorb either so why not show the absorb of spirit shields that ALSO don't ALWAYS absorb. Just completely sick of how stupid this company has gotten.     Am I jumping the gun a bit too much when I say I hope this mean you may actually stop ranting at every single update Jagex does? The knowledge base said up to those percentages. The shields still have a regular defensive value which is very high, which doesn't make them useless. The ability is a bonus, not the main selling point. On the KB, yes it often has an error or an explanation that is worded badly, but do you have any idea on the amount of work it takes to write the KB? We often have mistakes here on Tip.it, and we have a very large team working on everything to a very high standard. They don't have a large amount of mistakes on the KB, they are just picked up very quickly by players and highlighted. As has been posted by a Jmod, the change to the shields was a last minute design change which means the person writing the KB had the wrong information. It isn't because they don't play the game, it isn't because they are stupid, it is a small human error.
  9. This update should be good for those who argue over weapon speeds. Instead of the hit&miss KB, When you compare a weapon in game, it now states the speed. So far the classes I have seen are 'Medium' 'slow' and 'extremely slow'. For the reference, Rune scimitar was 'medium'.
  10. I like the change to mourners gear. The old mask didn't fit in with the time frame. The new gear looks like plague doctor ish, which does fit in. I guess this update means a lot of new work for the Crew with all the weights to add onto the Item Database. Also, on the shield above, it does say up to 10%, not a direct 10%. I believe it is your assumption that you got 10%, so it is your fault you are disappointed.
  11. 15:03 During a wayside halt, met Aryael and borrowed his diary to read. So much similarities in writing... We're obviously soulmates. 5 minutes after a duel to the almost dead, they are best of buddies
  12. 14:57 Aryael tried to use a skill. Danicus roared with laughter Does he even know how to use intimate tickling? That lost you the fight. We both would have been at 1hp and it would have gone to a coin toss.
  13. Haha, Want to agree to no recharging? So you can use the 25% but no extra charges? Being from another guild, I shouldn't go so lightly on you ;)
  14. Did you go to the site he said?
  15. It isn't great for overtaking but it certainly isn't the worst, it has some good long straights with hairpins at the end which should lead to some good racing. I remember Webber and Button at the end of last year, in the last few laps having a good duel. It will be a much better race than for example, Valencia. I have to admit I laughed at your definition of Vettel's help, but I wouldn't put it past him. He is a funny guy, don't get me wrong, but he doesn't have the maturity to control himself in most races which really harms the team.

Which in turn may make prices rise due to losing sales, which in turn makes more of a. I personally pirate, I will not deny it, I do however know it is wrong. If it was taken away I would not rant or rage, I would buy things instead. My reason for pirating is the ease of it. I could go down to a rental shop and get a Movie for cheap, but It is easier and in human nature (my nature) to go for the easy option. I do, as I say, know it is wrong but because the consequences are currently so minute, they outweigh the small benefits it has. I will still argue against Pirating though and know there is no moral high ground to stand on in favour of pirating.
  17. The first few laps were very tense seeing Everybody try to get past Hulkenburg. But once they did, it was obvious as to who was fastest and who would win.
  18. Wow, I'm surprised they didn't mention that on the program. Red bull have won the constructors finally. It was inevitable, they definitely earned it with the fastest car all year. Disappointed with Webber only making second, but Next week is now basically a three horse race, but my word are they close.
  19. :( sparky has died. It would be around 4500 gold to revive him so i doubt my hero will.
  20. I do think it would be ideal for everybody to have access to the RSOF. There are no levels requirements here yet we have good discussions. Why are we not inundated with spammers? The reason is that here we can deal with any that come along swiftly and without incident, and with correct punishments meaning they quickly get bored and stop. On the RSOF, the moderators have what I personally think is the worst possible system for a forum of that size. Their report system is a shambles, it is incredibly inefficiently and ineffective. Because of this shambles of a system, anything which breaks the rules takes a very long time to be dealt with, and correct punishments such as IP forum bans cannot be issued. This in turn invites more people to spam and flame for the 'lulz' which makes the forums spiral downward. With a total overhaul of their reporting system and a much larger moderating force, the RSOF could actually form some very good communities and be a good working forum that Jagex themselves could actively browse without flinching.

Today while on a trip to Birmingham, we found a shop which was selling foot long baguettes with filling for 99p each. At Subway they would have been £5+. And they were surprisingly good too, very liberal amounts of filling. Mine was mixed cheese with lettuce and spring onions. They had around 30 choices on a whiteboard but made them as you ordered. Wish we had one here.
  22. As much as possible without it all flying out the back when squeezed is the best solution.
  23. My god where did those laps come from? I can't even think of a reason such as low fuel for giving him the speed as They don't refuel any more. He just seems to have raw pace. I think he could really throw a spanner in the works if he manages to get around the first few laps unharmed tomorrow. With red bulls so close I agree it could be a fire fight out there. Should be an incredibly interesting race.
