  1. I´m the exact opposite, why bother to be reserved on the Internet where generally speaking no-one knows who you are? And I know this will sound like some teenage macho talk excuse for what people do but being behind a screen gives me a sense of freedom to do what you want, voice the opinions, doubts, regrets, etc..., you want that you don´t get in real life. obviously I´m not one of these people who goes round insulting people just because I can or anything like that though. On the internet I can take time to respond, take time to think how something that I say will effect others. I still say what I want, but I can take a lot longer to think out how to best present what I say.
  2. I am much more reserved when on the internet.
  3. There is a difference between quest level requirements and skill items unlocked at certain levels such as prayers. This is that quests are separate from skills. You skill to achieve levels and these items you can attain. If you want to grind for them that is fine. But quests are quests, not skills. They should be playable separate from having to grind skilling. As said, we are not saying have no level requirements, but do not make players grind excessively for them. For example, if we have had a quest requiring level 90 in x skill, yet most players would only get that skill to around 70 after completing all the other quests and having played the game for an acceptable time, the requirement would be nothing but grind. However, If Jagex were to implement more quests and content to get you to that 90, then the requirement would be less intrusive. Maybe it is Runescape as a whole which needs change, making levels more fun and less grind, but that doesn't discount from the main discussion of the level requirements not being good for the game.
  4. It seems people do not understand what we are saying. I will put it in a short list: Level requirements add no fun to the game Level requirements do not make the game hard, just grind Just because Jagex say they will happen, doesn't mean we have to be happy and stop talking about it. Content in which everybody can have a go at is much better for business than content which only a fraction can undertake. Jagex have the brains to make quests hard without level requirements. Adding randomised puzzles for example.
  5. I'm sorry, but I'm suggesting the total opposite. With lower requirements, you get content that can be played by more people not less. As I stated in my previous post: "You seem to miss the point that EVERYBODY can play quests with low requirements." Lower requirements = more players can access the content. I honestly cannot say it any more simple.
  6. I think the main reason is that currently people have become too stubborn in their discussions. Neither side is ever able to agree or concede parts of arguments any more. I think we also have a lack of random topics, which aren't all around discussions and arguments, but are just fun. Edit: To add onto this, people too often resort to name calling, saying people are trolling and taking things personally when all people should be doing is discussing the post not the poster.
  7. Correction, theres currently a noticable correlation between requirements of quest and difficulty. Difficult quests can be made without excessive requirements, and it would be the exact same quest, requirements or no. Excessive requirements don't actually add to difficulty of the quest in any way. Though, overcoming the hours of boredom thrown on beforehand may be the issue here. (Grind is not the best way to add difficulty, as i've already discussed). I see no reason why the rewards can't have high requirements. I.E all fired up. And frankly im bored of having to grind to do new quests. If you actually enjoy the skill, you don't need the quest requirement to encourage you to skill, you will do it anyway. If you don't enjoy the skill, then all the requirements are doing is forcing you through something you don't like. I can always hope that jagex doesn't get to this point just to please high levels. You see, our opinions are opposite, so this argument is going nowhere. However, I find it sad that you're so adamantly against releasing content for everyone, and not just low levels. It seems like a very negative and selfish thing to want. You seem to miss the point that EVERYBODY can play quests with low requirements. Low requirements do not mean a quest will be easy. It may have a hard boss requiring combat prowess, it may have hard puzzles requiring a lot of thought. Surely releasing content that everybody can enjoy and take part in is better than content that only a select few can. How you can possibly call that selfish is beyond me. Surely it would be more selfish to want content that only higher levels would be able to play? "If you actually enjoy the skill, you don't need the quest requirement to encourage you to skill, you will do it anyway. If you don't enjoy the skill, then all the requirements are doing is forcing you through something you don't like. " I have to admit, the above point is an incredibly good one. That should be a philosophy written on Jagex's wall. The skills you enjoy can aid you in quests, but for those that do not enjoy them, you shouldn't need them totally.
  8. Yes, its a stunning similarity to you and your pro-efficiency buddys bashing the author. Its really just a group of people against another group of people, i'm not seeing the problem here. You don't see the difference between one group giving examples, and the others simply playing a "leave Brittney Spears alone"? I'm sorry. If you don't see the difference, there is little hope for you. I agree, there really is very little hope for you if you don't see that we have almost all given reasons as to why too much offence is being taken. If you really see us as saying nothing more than Leave the author alone then you really need to think.
  9. So jealous, I want a pet. In other news, i am now making my hero evil due to the fact I want my gladiatorship ranking higher and it is so much easier to win as evil.
  10. Before I got distracted, As I explained after Obtaurian's post, just because the game could currently be heading towards more grind oriented quest requirements, does not mean it has to. In a perfect game world for me, I would have enough content available at all levels to make grind redundant. I would not need to grind a single level as I would be rewarded through quests, mini-games, boss hunting, distractions etc all the experience to have an endless amount of things to do. This is a perfect world and would probably never happen, but it doesn't stop them from being suggested. If we all accept the current route of the game it will never change, but if every player were to want a certain direction, there would be a chance of change.
  11. If you feel I have threatened to ban you, you are free to PM me or any other moderator about it. However, this discussion does not belong here. I will leave it with you to decide whether or not you want this community to take you seriously in the future. If you want to be involved in the discussion, please portray your arguments in a way others will actually want to respond to.
  12. Blade to be honest, I haven't seen you use a full sentence, paragraph and constructive discussion for ages, so It isn't much of a stretch to think why your arguments add nothing to the thread. If you want to be taken at all seriously, remember this is Tip.It and not the RSOF. I don't care about your view as long as you actually portray it in a constructive way like everybody else. If you actually want to be included here, remember that you can still use content if it has requirements below your level. If for example you had fun training a skill to an abnormal level, does not mean the rest of the population would. It would make content much more widely used if it was available at a lower level. Especially as quests deal with the core lore of the game which entices new customers for Jagex, it is in their best interest to use lower levels.
  13. 1. There's a direct correlation between the requirements of a quest and how "difficult" it is. Difficulty can be achieved in different ways. Puzzles, length, bosses etc. 2. The rewards would undoubtedly be amazing for quests with such high requirements and of such difficulty. See above 3. It gives people something to work for. Back when I was questing hardcore, I relished leveling my skills because I wanted to complete every quest. Frankly, I'm bored of not having to train to do new quests. I do not disagree, however, I would prefer if non-quest related things were the aim of skills. For example, having a skill more full in the higher levels. This should not be dumped on quests though. It is as if just because skills are not fleshed out, quests need to fill the gap, which they shouldn't imo. Regardless of any of that, requirements in the 90s are inevitable. It won't happen soon, but it will happen. It makes sense, as many posters have mentioned, that a quester would have to be a master of various skills to help everyone. This is why this argument is pointless: it will happen regardless of whether or not you want it. Your end argument seems to be very pessimistic and negative. Things can change with the right ideas. Currently with skills not fleshed out, yes it will happen, but if skills were to be fleshed out, maybe other quest rewards made higher so to level the player up faster without grind, things could be different. This isn't supposed to be an argument, it is supposed to be a discussion as to how to change the game for the better. You don't just have to accept it as it is.
  14. You can suggest an article all you like, but I'm sure it would be better for you to write it. A writer won't be as inclined to write about your things as much as they would theirs. Honestly, people are taking offence at such slight things, are you all newbs to the internet or something?
  15. Then why are you arguing for high level requirements?
  16. The problem here as always seems to be a select few users cannot concede an inch to another players argument. We have two groups of players here, Those who want to play games games core lore without having to excessively grind for it with almost no purpose, and those who want excessive grind to feel exclusive. Neither want to move, so can we not agree to disagree on where the game should head?
  17. That image has been done a few times. We even had an old thread where tipit made our own island in it a few years back: http://forum.tip.it/topic/222963-tipitopia
  18. Just because a religion states it does not like a certain people, does not mean they should not marry. Should atheists not be allowed to marry?
  19. Maybe the dev's lowered the rate at which they can be attained now the game has started to get larger? It is still in beta don't forget.
  20. Define what you mean by cultural?
  21. Not really. Other religions have marriage too. Marriage was around long before Christianity.
  22. This thread got off to a good start But really, none of you are smart I'm gonna be off the chart Put you in a shopping cart Break your heart Make you fart Like fine art Me and the win can't be kept apart I think it's time for me to depart...

Honestly, we have various homosexuality threads around and the situation has not changed from then, thus, I am locking this. If you want to post on one of the other threads you are welcome to.
  24. So I have decided to make my hero a little evil. The first time I punish him this happens: 16:35 Suddenly the booklet The 100 Things I'd Do If I Ever Became An Evil Overlord fell from the sky and hit Monorail Cat. Nice throw, Exalted One! Coincidence?
  25. I have taken all the ideas to the rest of the team, hopefully we can start getting this place up and running again soon.
