  1. Unfortunately I don't have time to read through all pages, but I've always thought it strange that they don't have a Blue Wizard Skirt available F2P or P2P. Adding that to both would at least complete a basic mage outfit!
  2. If the Varrock Museum update includes addition to Achievement Diary, then I predicted that. Otherwise, my only correct prediction is that other's predictions are incorrectly predicted and that predictiotarianism will mostly lead to disappointment. Note: Do you like the word that I made up  ?
  3. I'd have to agree, the Shield of Arrav (although Imp Catcher holds a close second). I didn't do Shield until last (combat 60ish) just because I couldn't be bothered finding someone to do it with. Ended up talking to some random person and it came up in conversation so they offered to help. Only took 5 minutes to complete and I gave them some Laws as thanks (aren't I nice).
  4. Some good and well thought out comments here. =D> I'm not really sure about Jagex secretly feeding rares into the market though :-k, but it's an interesting idea. I think there are 2 categories of players that would be affected by the eventual disappearance of current rares: 1. Rare holders - currently have rares. If they all lost their rares through some bizarre set of circumstances (e.g., massacre in wilderness of phat wearers with no-one left to pick them up), they would probably just go about their normal daily business (I considered taking this out since you can't hold a rare if they have disappeared, but I think my point is still valid) 2. Rare savers - saving for a rare. These would have the biggest impact on the economy because they would have gp saved up which would then be spare cash. They would also likely have extremely efficient money making processes. All of this extra gp would then go towards either "rare" armour or skilling. But as said above by numerous people, the disappearance of rares will happen slowly so one by one the Rare savers will give up on saving for a rare and go on with everything else (or quit). However, and this is my main point, unless Jagex decide that rares are no longer in existence (i.e., remove them as items), some number of rares will always be valid items within the game, even if they may not be actively traded. These are the ones held by player who quit. They could technically come back at any time and suddenly there would be an 'active' rare. The only rares that truely go out-of-game are banned accounts and lost through death (pretty uncommon I'd hope :ohnoes:). But if this game is still going (in its current form) long enough into the future for this to happen, I'd be very surprised.
  5. Good observation. Im going to have to disagree, however. This is only inside the musem, and I would hope that Varrock's acheivement diary would consist of goals throughout Varrock. You could very well be right though, but if you were i would really be dissappointed in Jagex. Fair comment (I first suggested the Achievement Diary on page 1). Whether it is only Achievement Diary or not, I expect it would constitute a good percentage of it. The downside of it being an Achievement Diary type of thing, is that you couldn't re-do it once you've completed the tasks. There's no direct suggestion either way in the KB, although my impression is that they are likely to be repeatable tasks. Therefore I would like to retract my suggestion on page 1 that it is Achievement Diary related and go back to my initial thought following BTS that it will be a mini game ... but when??
  6. To me, this implies that the Museum update will be an addition to the Achievement Diary
  7. My theory on randoms is as follows: * Certain randoms (e.g. Rock Golem, Troll, Tree Spirit, Gravedigger, Zombie) are 100% only found while doing certain tasks * Other randoms are more weighted towards appearing during certain tasks (e.g., Evil Chicken while fishing, Mime while melee training) * The rest fill in the gaps. Similar to the rare drops theory that a 'wheel' is spun, imagine a lottery wheel where 50% of the options are Rock Golem, followed by 10% each for Sandwich lady, Miles, MOM, Evil Chicken, Evil Bob. Obviously just an example, but explains how I see it. Edit: Oh, and where you are also affects what random you might get or how often. I didn't get any Zombie random until training in the Stronghold on Minotaurs. Within a week, got full Zombie plus emotes. Haven't had any outside of the Stronghold. It's not a straight 'pick from the list of all randoms' type of thing. You could almost call randoms 'manipulated random events'. Thus completes my theory
  8. I think it would be far more logical to add a new hunter animal to catch that can be loaded into a cannon. It can become like a giant flame thrower that will hit all monsters within 6 squares in a straight line (or all around, like a Catherine Wheel). I can see it now ... 8-) P.S. - don't flame me ... this is a joke!
  9. I'd like to suggest that there may be a higher chance of getting the maze that gives a reward relating to what you are currently doing. But seriously, there is a reason that it's called a random.
  10. The mime would just go into his invisible box and he couldn't be hit. For me, I think the frog princess would win. All others would run away from the thought of the kiss!!
  11. Mine is a mashination of my 2 pets names ... Truffy the dog and Schmoo the cat. Hmmm, I wonder if mashination is taken
  12. Following on from this poll, and ignoring F2Pers (since we don't really count) ... if Jagex stop releasing updates, would you continue to pay for membership?
  13. Regarding the bit I bolded above, maybe you'll be able to dig up (over time) a full 50 piece skeleton of a monster, then use the summoning skill to bring it back to life :ohnoes:. But really I think it sounds more like a minigame (a harder/longer version of the WOM minigame) as the implication is that it is an ongoing thing. Also the "Our quest in May" is surely intended wording.
  14. So based on the replies above, it looks like you cannot log in if you have an active membership, but without an active membership (lapsed or cancelled) you'd respawn in Lumbridge. Was wondering as if you respawn in Lumbridge even with active membership, it would be a good way of escaping dangerous situations (e.g., got attacked/tb'd outside mage bank but got far enough away to log out). But it looks like you may need to cancel your membership to get a quick/free tele home ... which would be a real pain.
  15. I would agree with you, if the poll was conducted a month or two ago. Surely they've been working on a big quest update for a few months ... but maybe they are all at an initial next-quest stage and wanted feedback on which one to focus one. Then again, maybe I'm giving Jagex too much credit on foresight ...
  16. This makes me ask a questions I've been wondering about: If you are in a members area and log in to a free world, what happens? Does it just not let you or does it put you in your respawn point?
  17. This is essentially where the idea for the guide comes from. What level of skills do I need to reach to be more effective in the game? You don't get much real benefit on some skills going from high-80s to 99. Anyway, since most of the comments aren't supporting this, I'll let it die its own death.
  18. Thanks for the positive feedback. Hadn't thought about including requirements for wearing/weilding bits, so will have a look at that sometime soon. The point is that the information is all together in one place. If you want to plan out your skilling, then it is easier to set targets when all together. But maybe you're right and it will get locked. If it does, then it does.
  19. I believe the term is "I have been pwned". But that's ok ... I forgive you. How about you give me a 1/10 for trying to help?? :?
  20. After this one, could you please make ... "A guide on making guides about bad guides" or "Guide on making guides to request guides on making guides about bad guides on guides on making guides"
  21. Guide to Target Skill Levels Introduction I was thinking ... "What level should I really get skill x to so that it'll be useful and yet not waste time?". So based on the information in the Tip.it skill guides, Archive of Wisdom, Player Made Guides, and other forum posts, I have compiled a list of levels that present a useful outcome to the skiller. I've tried to list the levels in the context of Work hard to reach the level then just relax and let further levels come whenever they come. Your Input I know that many of the items below may well be disputable (plus I'm F2P so am partly guessing in some of the P2P areas), so if you think that something should change, you'll need to give me a reasonable excuse as to why. I will not turn down valid arguements. Acknowledgements Tip.it Staff for the Skill Guides Many forum posters for various bits of information This is long text, so I haven't included any pictures. 23. I'm going to throw something way different in here (because I can  ). I financed a majority of my full rune with iron arrows. I camped down at the Minotaurs in Stronghold of Security and got ~5,000 iron arrows. Sold for 20gp each (lower end of price at the time) for 100K gp. Not only that, but got combat levels and prayer levels down there, along with full zombie. Not sure if they'll hit you too much though to make it effective. I was somewhere around 50 def at the time. Disclaimer:This was before the accumulator came out for members. I'm not sure if the iron arrow market is still at 20gp each. They weren't always an immediate sell, but it didn't take hours and hours.
  24. I agree with this, except Monkey Madness has quest pre-requisites, so that would by default imply that 'The Grand Tree' and 'Tree Gnome Village' are also in the most completed list. Based on my chart ([/shameless plug for player made guide]), I'd say that PiP and LC would be the 2 top as they lead to lots of other good quests ... not that I really know since I'm F2P #-o . Just remember that the title is Members quest completed the most times?, not necessarily the first one many people do. They are closely related, but not necessarily the same.
  25. Thanks, I needed some more lines on the page . I'll think about how they can fit in. - Thanks for the feedback.
