- Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
Due to recent trend: Must be a mining / smithing / crafting D&D (and I am really really really really really really (have I mentioned really..) tired of those) But my hopes go out to a skill based boss (aka something like nomad) where pure stats don't matter as much as moving / chosing attack style and timing matter. Perhaps something.. BRILLIANT!!! And no ofcourse not f2p, that would be silly wouldn't it be ;)- Lobster Fishing F2p
@Red_fat: In my early days of lobster fishing (Runescape classic times), I once got stuck on karamaja by not having 30 gp for the trip back. Took me a few minutes to realize .. I could sell fish to the general store. Either way, the 60 gp is for the trip TO the island and the trip FROM the island. In case you don't have a teleport with you. (I think)- The guide to using brawling gloves (WIP)
A perfect guide and I simply love the revamp. For the Ranged / Melee brawlers, you might want to add to save the gloves till you get a slayer task. Using the Focus Sight or black mask (slayer helm or full), you can significantly boost your experience gained. Also the berserker curse boosts your efficiency due to longer effect of extreme/super pots. Using controlled, I got 60k in HP and 60k in att/def/str each with some slayer experience on the side. Was lovely! Perhaps one day I'll get some new brawlers. (only 1/4 of a thieving, 1 prayer and an agility one left). Any tips on surviving with the agility ones? It's a pain to get killed every 10-12 laps, having to get all the way back.- IN-DEPTH Gem Rock Mining Guide
The obisidian golem (+7 mining) is your best bet in this case. The pictures aren't working for me either. On a sidenote, perhaps add that using a Penance horn (master or normal) raises exp by 2x. This will turn everything to aproximate 40-60k experience per hour. I personally used this miningspot several times already, giving me a great alternative to boring granite mining.- Ready... set... rock time!
I started to love shattered rocks as well. Took me a sturdy 2 weeks to manage my first statue. Nowadays, it doesn't take 2 days :P I understand how you feel! Luckily it is a great healthy addiction, unlike car-skiing (That 70's show joke) Anyway ;) Love to hear some of your best methods to gather them rocks! (or more important, the most fun methods!)- Good alternative to claws for special attack
Well, you could try a darkbow for specs. With a guaranteed hit.. Could be well worth it. Also, you could just spec with BGS, effectively lowering the TD's defenses, but I doubt you'll need that. Darkbow would be my best bet ;) As for the tasset question, I have no idea. But tassets are highly overrated in my opinion. Waste of money in every way. Void is more efficient, especially for someone like you that is looking for extra damage- Runecrafting
I'd say, if you want to break even -> Air runes for the first levels. Cosmics after that through abyss I think and from 44 and on, nature runes all the way. Good luck on it tough.- Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
Awfully quiet on Twitter still ;) Hopefully next weeks update will be that '' big project'' that delayed the postbag etc.- 'Bonus XP Weekend' Economically Benefitial?
As for the player-killing, a max of 10 hours per person wasn't spend PK'ing.. There are 365*24 - 10 hours left in that year. The effect would be so marginal.. Construction was trained a nice bit to, but the above poster said something very viable. If people were to get the same exp outside the weekend, they'd be spending more. What the weekend created was a huge spike upwards, followed by the same spike downwards on various products. I don't see it very beneficial. Deflation is an economy killer as much as inflation is. Anything between -1% and +5% inflation isn't dangerous (in normal economy).. bigger numbers are! The weekend created huge numbers. Up to 20-50% inflation to start.. and the same numbers down. All in all ;) I am still a big fan of these weekends. Enjoying 80 summoning and 80 construction as we speak ;)- No money for expensive skills
Time is money. And therefor you now have to pay me as a result of me responding to your sentence! Anyway, time = money is what this entire topic is about. There are a gazillion ways of training skills. Choosing the fastest methods is going to COST you money. Slower methods MAKE you money! Think off charging air orbs will MAKE you large sums of money, yet alching will COST you money. Charging air orbs takes more concentration / effort and gives less exp/hour. Just one of the many examples... I seldom (never) grind for money yet I am a very wealthy player. I train my skills inefficiently and never for more then 2-3 hours at a time. ;) I don't go around smithing addy plates from bought addy bars. I rather make mithril bolts @ blast furnace using SC hammers, making a small amount of money and having decent experience :)- Shattered heart- construction stone
I believe you need to be in your house for longer then a minute or so. Best bet: Have your butler get you soft clay each time and just make tablets. Have your butler un-note items and bank whatever finished products. (raw fish - cooked fish) or what you indeed said: Make items on workbench, works great to. Getting in / going out slows you down.- April Fools' day
Every skill will be [hide] OVER 9000!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! [/hide] Other then that, simply love that IMA FIRING MA LAZ0r idea that was posted earlier. Best bet would be they actually did release the skill and everyone would just think it's a joke. Whoever written that earlier in this topic is on the same line with me. Tough I am calling it now!! The new area is released and the fremmeniks are cabbage-bombing the area!- Complete Slayer Guide
Pretty darn impressive guide. Can't wait for the kuradel section. What is your view upon the various barrows melee armours (non-set)? Verac > Torag > Dharok / Guthan? Currently using Guthan skirt / Torag platebody for no good reason whatsoever. The EE acts as +15% Defence as well. You do say later on it acts as defence. Perhaps useful to notify the specific effect. Hopefully you'll be making a guide/section about familiars on tasks aswell. Your info seems solid and this guide is very well written!- Betrayal at Falador book
Edited this post: link is save, confirmed in below posts :) sorry there, trying to be safe. Welcome to the forum and sorry if I was a bit harsh (A)- My Shattered Heart Guide
This is what I ment. That means, when harvesting you either need to fill your inventory with sacks or eat/drop all the cabbages. You can turn them into compost ;) but anything other then super compost is a waste to most. Using either potatoes or cabbage or watermelons doesn't make a difference tough. Like you stated: higher level things don't make a difference. As for the big net thing you said, you are probably completely right. It should be actually faster the way you do it. I don't see why you are cutting your chances in half? You just spend your time doing 2 things. Crafting hard-leather bodies costs money, while making gold amulets out of gold bars is about breaking even. The only cost will be Gold Ore to Gold Bar. If you don't want this, just buy bars and use it for crafting stones. (26 gold ore / bars + 1 mould, if you don't have the inventory space, you will lose 1 gold ore/bar in order to get the strange rock. Doesn't / shouldn't affect your chance to get it.) Also, smelting iron ore into bars is profitable and with recent update, you will make profit from this. Useful for those interested in not losing money! Same goes for cannonballs, tough this is a slow and painful process hehe. Perhaps useful, http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Calculators/Potions That link can be used in order to determine the cheapest pot to make. Also for firemaking, willows are the cheapest. Maples are more popular to use tough. (since most have an overkill of these banked anyway). Don't make people burn oaks or normal logs, since these are quite costly and low experience compared to willow/maple. Many places are great for this, including Grand Exchange and/or Falador east bank. There is a theory about switching between skills after getting the first rock. Apparently it ups the chances if you switch between skills after getting one. Example, woodcut till you get the 1st WC rock. Then thieve till you get that one. The chance for the second WC rock resets and when you go back to woodcutting, your 2nd rock will come faster. There is a theory about this one in the General Discussion thread about Strange rocks.- A guide to soloing the King Black Dragon
I've read this yesterday and was surprisingly impressed about this guide. It is very much complete! What I am personally very interested in, is the discussion about whip vs. Leaf-bladed Sword. What the above posters pointed out, it is possible to tank with antifires + mage pray. What levels you reckon this can be done at? Never even considered this would be possible. PS. If you need chatlogs of the KBD head --> I have a mounted KBD in my house if you want to add it. Quite a fun addition to your guide. I reckon there was already a topic on this forum about all the head-conversations in one's POH. Perhaps you could look that up instead. All in all, a great guide and perhaps a worthy post for AoW in the near future- My Shattered Heart Guide
Well, I could give you a few tips myself: First off: Construction: You need to be in normal mode, inside your house. The stone appears next to the portal. This means you have to 'wait' While waiting you can do the following things: Bring noted raw fish --> Have the butler unnote them (and bank them afterwards). Tough it may cost a little extra for the butler, you get the chance to combine construct rocks with cooking rocks. This is ofcourse done in the kitchen. Make teletablets --> Have a study within sight of the portal and just make teletablets while waiting! Profitable and magic experience. Woodcutting: Cutting oaks / willows is a faster way to gather rocks as you get a chance each time you cut a log. Oaks cut the fastest ;) so this would be faster then Ivy. Also --> Draynor Willow Trees has a bank AND master farmer. You can combine these easily there. Thieving: add Ardougne Cape 3 as useful item. Fishing: Monkfish seem to be the fastest method to gather the rocks. Often hear 2 rocks in the first inventory or at least within 3 inventories. Cooking: Cooking guild with varrock armour 3 or the Rogues Den is the fastest place to cook ofcourse. Often requires 500-1k fish till you get both rocks. So going to either of these places is great. Farming: NEVER EVER EVER! go for cabbage seeds. Not because they are so horribly expensive.. they cannot be noted when picked! Which is a pain. I'd advice potatoe / onion if you are looking for the rocks FAST! (20 minutes or so for them to grow). Sweetcorn otherwise. Ofcourse herbs, whichever you want to grow. What I am personally a big fan off: Smithing/crafting --> Goldsmithing gauntlets (Family Crest quest) and melt all the ores into bars. Bring an amulet mould with you and immediatly make amulets out of them. Both smithing and crafting is done by this. Good luck on it ;)- How YOU make money in Runescape
I don't to be honoust. Just doing the things I enjoy makes me money ;) E.g. farm rounds, some daily activities. The occasional slayer. Training skills through profitable methods. Some runecrafting. Heck I don't do things longer then an hour at the time haha- ring of wealth
Above comments are right. Also drops are determined upon the monster dieing. Same like clues are determined when the reward is handed out. (that has been proven when new clue rewards were handed out). So if you put on the ring before you do the final damage to the dragon (to be sure, before you are going to land the hit that kills it), the ring of wealth should work. Tough.. like above said.. It won't help on d skirt / d legs. Shield halfs and those, sure :D- Agility Question
Well.. at level 80 Dorghuskaan is the better experience from what I read about everywhere. Tough if you think the experience isn't that much of a difference, or if your just semi-training pick the course that keeps you focused the best. Heck for the sake of fun you might even try getting the master penance horn filled. Clearly you are a person that doesn't like to spent hours on hours doing the same thing over and over focused :P So.. vary a bit and worry more about what you enjoy other then what is the max.- Whip or LBS
LBS.. I found it.. vastly superior. If you have the ability for super anti dragon breath pots, use a zam spear.- Shattered hearts and omg easter
Just for your curiosity, the statue in your POH does nothing in the end other then looking AWESOME! (and the fact that.. nearly nobody will have it) - Post and discuss all Jagex Twitter updates here!
