  1. I think the graphical update that is coming up is needed and the ones that are for certain monsters and other NPCs are just as important for a few reasons. The first reason is that although games are not all about what the game looks like, the graphics are the first impression that people have about a game. Thus, if a game looks rudimentary, some people might be turned off to the game and not even give it a try. In this way, the graphical update that is coming up could possibly open up the game to new players who would have otherwise not given Runescape a chance. This also puts more money into the coffers of Jagex and the money can be used to develop new quests and such because Jagex will hire more people if more people are playing. The graphical updates, although it may not look it, may actually be necessary for some updates to work correctly. So in this sense, graphical updates are on the surface flash, but are functional if you really think about it.
  2. I put 86 at the end of my name because lovepanda was allegdly taken. 86 is my birth year.
  3. I almost always drink sweet tea while playing. I usually eat pizza if I'm going to eat a meal and I snack on snack cakes or chicken strips.
  4. What percentage of the Runescape population do you think will riot and/or be really upset with summoning when it is released? You can give the reasons why you think they would riot if you want to.
  5. Dateline: Monday, December 31 2007 1:35 am. I was patronizng the Grand Exchange when some noobs were badgering this guy about his purple partyhat. They seemed to be very excited to see one, as if they had never seen on before. Anyway, one of the noobs proceeds to offer the guy with the partyhat the armor (granite platebody) and shield (obsidian shield) he was wearing and noted that the two items were worth a total of about 200k. I asked the guy that offerred this stuff if he knew how much the hat was worth and he said that it was worth 300mil, even though it is "only" 177mil, so the guy at least knew that it was expensive. After laughing at the guy and buying some stuff, he continues to badger the guy with the hat, even asking if he could have a free one. At this point, I told the guy with the partyhat to run, and he promptly teleported.
  6. I still play because of the community. Most people that play are, in fact, not immature, although I'm sure some of you would beg to differ. I also keep playing for the fact that I have been playing for about 2.5 years and I'm not going to stop playing because of an update because then it means I would have wasted that time. I also don't think as many people quit as some people think, although I could be wrong because I don't have any numbers to back that statement up.
  7. I highly doubt that summoning will also be released f2p. The last 4 skills released are not available to f2p and I don't think Jagex is ever going to release big updates to f2p, ever.
  8. I'm actually a fan of the wilderness update because it makes abyss runecrafting easier
  9. Not having to deal with randoms, or at least as many of them, would be awesome. I would especially like to have the swarm random removed. The only ones I like are the Genie and the one with the dragon where you get the Book of Knowledge (I don't remember the exact name of the random).
  10. You should have fear because I am dead, for when I return, I will have your head!
  11. Jagex does these kinds of updates to make the game as a whole better. If they make some people mad (100,000 people out of 6,000,000 is not that many) then those people will just have to either deal with it or find something else to do.
  12. What's wrong with skillers?
  13. I agree, maybe this update will weed out alot of the immature players. Unfortunately though, there will be some mature and respected players that leave, but all in all, this should help the community as a whole.
  14. I agree. The fewer bots that I see, the better.
  15. Nice pictures everybody!
  16. We pwned, that's all there is to it really. Also, I hardly saw anything besides green capes.
  17. The sense of achievement and knowing that you are one of the (relatively) few that took the time to train a skill to such a high level. The skill capes are nice too.
  18. The only way it will stop is if people stop buying stuff from the offending websites. If nobody is buying the items from the websites, then the gold farmers will move to another game where people are buying the items. Sounds simple, but getting people to not buy the items is extraordinarily difficult, because some people don't want to have to work for levels.
  19. I'm working on RC and fishing and some crafting, just in case.
  20. This is going to be out of control.
  21. It will probably look like it did before construction and hunter were released, just with an extra row.
  22. This is similar to crime in real life. The macroers (the criminal) will usually, at least for a short time, be ahead of the police (Jagex). This is the sad reality, as no computer program is perfect at detecting whatever it is designed to detect.
  23. I think it would not only look weird, but this would add to the amount of objects that need to be processed, thus decreasing performance, especially for those with older computers.
  24. I don't thing Runescape will ever be on console. They could possibly develop something else for consoles, but most likely it would not be Runescape.
