  1. Anyone seen the previews for this? It looks pretty sweet.. Written by the Wachowskis, which could be good or bad.. probably good http://imdb.com/title/tt0434409/
  2. Basically a statistical rationality, but, you won't be skewed by anything I say, and frankly, I won't be skewed by anything you say. So, let's take the shorter route and end this before it starts and save both of us time.
  3. GhostRanger: It's true that religion and science don't have to be mutually exclusive. However I beleive that it shows that you yourself have conflicting views on the subject. I myself was raised a christian. Then I started to learn about science, and I thought "Hey, God could still exist..". Then I thought about it more, and realized that in reality, the chances of a supreme incorporeal being having created things "in the begining" just conflicted with rationality, and I stopped beleiving in it, for the most part. To me it shows more faith to realize all of the "facts" and realize that your view of the world conflicts with those "facts", and still beleive in it anyway. To beleive in God and say all of these "facts" also exist is just a cop-out. Anesthesia: I love your jigsaw analogy.. best I've heard in a while.
  4. He did use manual focus, that, according to him, was the point of the shot, to play around with a manual focus method using a touch-screen.
  5. Didn't we like.. just have this thread, a month or so ago?
  6. I made it in Photoshop... the lines in the background are just another design element..
  7. No, we've observed that it exists. At any rate, the whole purpose of my bringing up gravity was to illustrate that "proof" of either side's case is an entirely moot point. We've proved that it exists in the same way that we've proved thought exists. We don't need a how to see an is.
  8. We've proved that gravity exists. We've not proved why or how it exists, but we have proved that it exists. Proof by disproving others isn't proof at all.
  9. This is what we call composition. I didn't say it before, but, looking again, the first pic is really very nice compositionally. It may have not been intentional, but, It's good. The pins create a great and interesting movement.. My only qualm is that it's very slightly out of balance, but, for a random shot, it's still pretty sweet. :)
  10. Sweet.. Odds are it's under 128 mb, but, who cares? :) Hm.. According to the fine print it's valid in the US only, and you have to send the drive back when you're done..
  11. I love the map one.. Golf one is pretty sweet, though compositionally it's rather bland.
  12. lmao, what the heck's a foot doing there  . that's the monty python foot. Duh..
  13. Woo, completed.. wasn't nearly quite as long as viridian.. Oh well.
  14. Not trying to acheive anything, really.. just sort of screwing around
  15. That was my concern as well.. Frankly I wouldn't mind using that much space, 'cause it looks like an incredible game, but.. They were talking about how every creature was created using the same script, so I'm sure other parts of the game are like that as well, and if that's the case, it may not be as large as we think...
  16. It's so much more than that, though, which is why it's so crazy. You go from 2D pacman style, to rpg-ish, to sims-ish, to sim-city-ish, to rts like civilizations-ish, and then get into a whole new genre that doesn't really exist now - alien encounters with an almost infinite myriad of other planets. All the while being able to customize to an almost infinite degree, what it is you're playing with. Incredible.
  17. Wow.. It's not too-often that a genre-shattering game like that comes out.. The only thing I'm mildly worried about is, how is it performance-wise? How much space will all of that information take? Will it take 20 minutes to load the galaxy graphics? Other than that, it looks like more fun than any game I've seen in a while. I'm a sucker for games where you get to upgrade and create your own stuff..
  18. Attack of the Show is worse than anything spawned from satan because: There used to be 2 networks. G4 and TechTV. Nobody watched G4. TechTV had a great show called "The Screensavers". It was a smart tech variety show. Call-in tech support, ideas for computer stuff, interviews, lots of cool stuff. TechTV also had a lot of other great shows, which people actually watched. G4, the devil, decided they were jealous of TechTV's ratings, so they bought TechTV. Once they did this, instead of keeping what was giving TechTV great ratings, they decided to sumarily fire everyone except for the two hosts of X-Play, and the 2 crappiest hosts of The Screensavers. They they bastardized The Screensavers. Took out all of the good content and left it essentially a showcase for random stupid internet crap, and reincarnated it as Attack of the Show. G4 couples adult humor with immature morons who host, and have removed all content except video game culture. This leaves it useful and watchable only by people in the 15-25 age range, and only those people in that age range who are also idiots infatuated with video game culture.
  19. You've just opened a rift in space-time. ebaumsworld sucks, but, Attack of the Show really sucks.. who do you root for if they both suck? The answer is you blow your brains out so you don't have to deal with either. Especially Attack of the Show If you don't know why Attack of the Show is worse by far than anything that could've spawned from satan, I shall tell you.
  20. Unless you're really experienced, don't set yourself up to try and do something as big as RuneScape, you'll just get let down when it doesn't turn out like you like it.. Try to come up with something really new. That's part of why RuneScape did and does so well, it's the first (as far as I know) viable MMO based completely on Java.
  21. The problem with these debates is that we quickly get into even more existential debates. Namely "why are we here" ?
  22. http://www.pickle-green.com/egraphics/m ... eggarchive Old eggs hatched.
  23. Fair enough. Let me say though, Magical Trevor would be ashamed of you.
