From all the people I know, Dell laptops aren't even close to decent. Everyone I know with a Dell laptop have had the screen, the optical drive, or the harddrive, or a combination of more of them go out within 6 months of buying the laptop.

Some addatives to what Godslayer has said: 90% of it is role-playing. You basically "pretend" (though that makes it sound way more lame than it actually is) you are your character, and you react to what the DM is saying happens. On anything that means anything, you have to roll a dice to determine the outcome, 99% of the time it's a d20, or 20-sided dice. For instance, my elven fighter comes up to a chasm, and rolls a jump check to see if they can jump it. I roll a d20, then take my result and add in whatever my + to jump is. That's my strength modifier (a number based on my strength level), and any ranks (skill points) I have into jump. Lots of stuff like that. The combat is based off of die-rolls. Say I have a longsword. I roll a d20, and add in any modifiers to see if I'm able to hit. So, say I have a +11 to hit (based on various things), so I roll a 15, and add 11, that's 26. If the 26 hits (the DM decides based on what he knows about the monster I'm attacking), I roll for damage. The longsword does 1d8+4 damage, so I roll an 8-sided die, and add 4 to it, and that's how much damage I do. There's a huge variance in what weapons do what damage, various things that add to damage, or + to hit, etc. The pencil/paper element is basically you have several sheets of paper which helps you remember what your character's name is, his attributes, what items he's carrying, history, notes about the campaign, etc etc.. That's what I heard too someone made a translating error which was discovered like last year :roll: I heard it was actually something along the lines of 444 or 424 or some combination of 4s and 2s.

Recently I've been having an extremely annoying connection problem. Randomly, I will be unable to open new connections. Web-pages I'm viewing continue to load fine, IRC is still connected, as well as AIM/MSN. However if I try to open a new page, try to connect to another irc server, or try to reconnect to aim/msn (tried for testing purposes), it doesn't work. I've tried resetting my modem, rebooting my router, doing an ipconfig /release and /renew *CON*. Nothing works; I have to restart. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The magnetic pole switching theory sounds the most plausible so-far, but, frankly, I prefer to sit in my dilusions of saftey. :D

SNL hasn't been good since the late 90's if not earlier. The days with Phil Hartman and Chris Farley and etc. were the best hands down. Mad TV has definitely seen better days as well, though. I don't know if they have new writers now or what, but they just don't know when to quit! They beat a joke to death in a skit so that it's not funny. General timing is crap as well.

And yet we would still maintain that he had killed himself, because we still have no proof that the guy killed him. Unless the guy has footage of himself killing him, in which case we would have to make sure the footage is legitimate/etc. Only then can we be sure. Hannibal, you speak of paradigm shifts and etc. What's wrong then, with teaching what we currently have the most verifiable data for? Creationism used to make sense, now we have better and more provable ideas- thus we don't teach creationism anymore. Are you saying we should teach the aristotealian ideas and say, even though we have this other theory that works far better and fits far better into our other theories, it still could work. My problem with teaching anything faith-based is that it is faith-based. I'm completely fine with saying "this is another theory, but it's entirely faith-based". But teaching it alongside things like Evolution and Newtonian mechanics seems ludacris at the least.

Ah, I do that, sometimes. It draws emphasis to the urgency of the situation, and highlights that it's a ?! - you want an answer now. It's not just a question mark and it's not just an exclamation point. It works if you're asking something urgently... or angrily. :P :D He doesn't mean the "?!" itself, but the fact that it's preceeded by a space.. so "hello ?!" instead of "hello?!". At least that's what I got from it.. Also, the whole "kk" thing I don't think is that bad, it's a more final/definite version of "k". Like a salute in the military. :P

That's probably close to my number 1 pet peeve ever. Same.. Even worse when they do "their" for "there" or "they're". I also despise "oic", and "neone"/"ne1".

As much as I hate to give out numerical ratings, I beleive this is a special case. I give you a 10/10 for originality and it not looking half-bad. :D

The shots themselves don't usually hurt at all.. What sucks, though, is when a tooth they're pulling has a semi-hooked pointy-arse root on the end of it. Every time they rock it back and forth it's like somone's stabbing some area above your mouth. Ouch.

Why in the world would you ever need 2TB of hard drive space? Thats 2,000gb. I can hardy fill up a 160gb hard drive :? . Given the fact that motherboards of that time had 4 hard drive connectors, maximum, that'd mean he would have needed 500GB drives. Which didn't exist two-three years ago. Hence, he's lying. Medium server-class systems of that time (which would have Intel Xeon processors, not pentium 4's) barely had the amount of RAM mentioned, and nowhere near 2TB of HDD space. My school bought two servers back then, each with 3.6Ghz processing power provided by dual Xeon chips, and one with 1Gb and the other with 1.5GB RAM. Both servers used six 120GB harddrives (hot-swappable), to a combined storage space of 720GB, which is less than half of what he's mentioning. Oh, and I fail to see how a 13-year old would manage to glas-blow a pyramid, much less, how to insert a computer inside it without breaking it. I think the guy means see-through plastic, if this isn't all made up as well. To be fair.. Couldn't he have used daughter-boards with extra HDD connectors? Also, he says he uses it as a server in case the other goes down, it's not primarily a webserver, just in neccessity. That being said, though, I also have trouble beleiving it.

It's not like the government would have very much trouble getting people's contact info anyway. Also not really a matter of privacy, either. They're not spying on you. I agree it is kind of :-/, though, and if it went much farther I'd really be upset.

You mean you don't? I haven't used a computer in years that didn't have a "homegrown" graphics card. ATI can shove it, I'll take my pile of resistors and duct tape any day. ;)

Try some of those throat losenges, they work wonders for me whenever I have a throat infection or whatever.

Been posted before, or I've seen it before at least.. Still pretty neat. :D I beat it with flashlight.. Also, I think it's slightly lame that it can have odd answers, the questions are supposed to be straight-out yes or no.

Are those the only two programs not coming up? What kind of computer do you have? I had a very similar problem earlier this year, but it was rather specific to my motherboard model.

I actually really like the RS character in it, the shape of the flames flow really nicely with/around it, and the colors compliment it nicely. I think you should add some orange/yellow highlights, though, especially to put focus on the text. Unless you want it subtle like that, which is also cool.

Good job, but I agree that the clothing should tear as the body swells, not after.. smooth it out some too, it's too jumpy. I also think the body swelling should have another step or two, it's too dramatic right now.
