Actually, with the newer versions of windowblinds, the programs use just as much, if not less resources than the original XP skins. The Windowblinds processes run in place of, not overtop of, the standard XP skinning processes.

It's a gray area, to be sure. However, since there is an overwhelming ammount of "renders" used here and on other sites, and I've yet to hear somone getting into trouble for it, most people just turn a blind-eye on the subject. Technically yeah, though, most of it is breaking copywright laws...

For 3000 you could get an alienware, and they are overrated, but not without reason. If not that, then you should look at a sony vaio, or toshiba, both of which have some high-end laptops that could handle gaming.

I'm helping my neighbor with some network troubles... She has wireless and wired... I can connect to my wireless (she lives in the apartment next door), but not her wireless router. I can't get the wired connected through her router, but I can get it straight through the modem.. The problem still remains though that with both (much more so than the wired), there are many more packets sent than received, and I can't load any webpages/etc. The wired is a linksys g with speedbooster, wired is an integrated on the mobo. My router is a netgear rangemax 240, hers is a linksys of some sort... She's going to call her ISP's tech support, but I figured I'd ask here just to see if there's something obvious I'm missing, or something..

Something I just realized, which makes me actually really dislike vista is that they're pretty much screwing legacy users in the hardware-department, but they aren't also screwing legacy users backwards-compatability wise. If they did both of them they could make some real progress, all they're doing now is making a flashy POS with the same pitfalls as previous versions. BLEH. That being said, though, they are supposedly doing some interesting performance enhancements and have some innovations with graphics, which will allow cooler effects and whatnot.... What can I say? I'm a hwore for eye-candy..

Never heard of a twingos... did a google search of it.. Looks like a european version of the geo metro.. wow.. *shudder* To be quite honest, I want this thing: Vanagon Club-Cab Syncro.. they're really rare in the US, though.. It'd also be cool to get a pinto and fix it up so it wasn't a death-trap. I love the styling.. Unrealistically, though, I dunno.. I enjoy most clean-lined sports cars.

I want to say I like them, but, I really don't.. sorry.. The first one seems good at first, but then you start to notice there's really no composition to it, no focal point, and shoddy contrast.. The second one is better, but, I think it's too busy, and the type of shot has been overdone, I'm afraid. My other problem with it is the lack of scale.. there's nothing to compare it to. A person or car in it somewhere would do wonders for it, I think. Not only for scale but to place it.. if you know what I mean. At the moment it could be some random wall floating in space, it's not grounded.. Now that I think about it, I think the first one suffers from that problem as well, though not as much. It's too detached from anything.. I'm sure you'll get some better ones next time. :-D

You'll find that most of us here are under the age of 24 or so, a very large majority under the age of 18. You may find better advice elsewhere. Why do heavy alcoholics drink? To forget thier troubles. I really don't have hard website evidence because I just meant this as a tag on to my post, after seeing that he actually thought the life of pornography was glamorous. Not all alcaholics drink simply to forget their troubles. A fair number of them drink simply because they have an addictive personality, and have become addicted to the euphoria alcahol requires. Saying that the "guilt of porn forces people into crack-habits" is just the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. They may feel guilty, they may turn to drugs as a result. Just because you have a set of morals doesn't mean everyone else follows those same morals.

Way to be respectful and open-minded to other people's views, guys. You don't have to beleive what they do, but you don't have to belittle them for standing up for what they beleive in. It's not like they're trying to force you to beleive what they do.

Ultraviolet looks like another cheesey plotless action film.. V for Vendetta looks like it's original, has a good plot, balances special effects with story, etc...
