  1. Sorry, I guess I didn't make my intentions clear. I wasn't really trying to argue with you. The counter-points were for the benefit of other people. I was simply presenting a counter-opinion.
  2. This is a screenshot of an "out of the box" copy of Opera. Now, where are the millions of tiny windows and panels with mile-long menus? My argument, however, is that most of Opera's features are features that a majority of people would find useful. If you don't beleive me- A lot of Firefox's most popular extensions are features that are already in Opera. Plus there's the issue that extensions may be incompatible with eachother, or future versions of FireFox. You haven't, by the way, adressed yet that Firefox is slower and larger than Opera.
  3. Matt, elaborate on "It takes a lot of customising to remove the features you dont want". Also, while it may take a bit to get it set-up to your tastes, I feel that it's less than it takes to download all the extensions you'll want for FireFox.
  4. I'm guessing you know what Internet Explorer is. I'd venture to say that a majority of the people who will read this post are using FireFox. But, have you ever heard of Opera? Have you ever tried Opera? For those of you who don't know, Opera is an alternative web-browser. It has tons of great features, including a multi-document interface (MDI), mouse gestures, sessions, panels, a fantastic mail client, and much more. On top of that, it is currently the smallest (only 3.9mb download), and fastest Windows browser. I would give you all kinds of reasons to use Opera, but, others have done it before me, and much better than I could have done. So, take a look at these links: http://operalover.tntluoma.com/8/ Rather extensive guide to Opera and it's features http://tntluoma.com/beyond30/2003/08/opera_vs_mozilla A response to a review of Opera. It's slightly outdated, but still a good read. http://nontroppo.org/wiki/WhyOpera Again, slightly outdated, but gives a point-by-point "Why Opera?". I've used Opera for years now, since version 6, and every time I try and switch to something else, I end up missing something from Opera, and going back within a month. Give it a try at least. If you have any questions feel free to ask me, and I'll try to answer, or try and find the answer if I don't know.
  5. I almost killed one of my monitors a few days ago. That was really bad. Thankfully the pins bent back easily..
  6. He wanted to switch because his site wasn't displaying properly in anything but IE, but it was just a CSS error and I helped him sort it out.
  7. I've known about this site for a long time, but I don't know whether any of you have ever heard of it.. http://www.ferryhalim.com/orisinal/ Bunch of games. Some of them are admittedly rather lame, but there are a good few really fun ones as well. What's really great about all of the games though is the look and sound. They're interactive peices of art. Visually stunning, very cool/relaxing music; if you liked the music in the "duck game", you'll love this.
  8. I think this is what you're looking for.. http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/product/224509.asp It's only $8. It is pre-owned, but, the one you broke is pre-owned as well, so it doesn't make a difference. :) I can't find a new one on the site, but they may have them in the store. Oh, and, don't feel bad, I've done the exact same thing to other stuff before.. :(
  9. I'm fairly sure it is, Ex.. :) This is amazing though.. Those screenshots don't do it justice.. Moving around is so simple and smooth, it's amazing.. I have a new goal in life... find penguins... muahaha
  10. You're also forgetting, Insane, that Dumbledore would never beg for his life. Ever. He was begging Snape to do something else. The theory I beleive is that he was begging Snape to kill him, so Snape could continue to be an inside man. If Dumbledore really wanted to get out of that situation, he probably could have. If Voldemort did focused magic without a wand before he was 11, there's a good liklihood that Dumbledore could then. But it would have meant losing his inside man. If he killed them all, Snape would obviously be gone. If he killed everyone but Snape, Voldemort would wonder why.
  11. Maybe Flitwik did pass out, as Hermione originally thought. It never actually said that Snape for a fact knocked him out. At least I'm fairly sure ..
  12. Snape is probably still a good guy. Dunno if you read this, but, to repeat a theory earlier on in this post.. Dumbledore would have never begged for his life, it's possible he was pleading for Snape to kill him so that Snape would be able to continue to serve as a spy for the Order and ultimately do more good than he would have been able to by saving Dumbledore's life.
  13. For anyone else having this problem.. in Internet Explorer go to Tools > Internet Options > |Programs| and check "Internet Explorer should check tos ee whether it is the default browser" Then next time you restart it, you'll be prompted to set it as the default browser.
  14. I seriously doubt Harry is a horcrux. You saw the pain caused to both when Voldemort posessed Harry. I'm sure something very similar would happen if part of Voldemort's soul resided in Harry..
  15. DUDE its an art program. Actually, no. It's a mechanical drafting program. There are major differences between modeling programs and mechanical drafting programs. Not that you can't do wierd stuff with a mechanical drafting program, but it's not going to work nearly as well for art as 3Dsm or Maya or etc..
  16. Uh, first of all, who cares what she looks like in the movie? Second, Hermione is obviously going to end up with Ron. Been used before Spiderman, too, and it's not like it's such an original idea that it has to be ripped-off somone.. It was mentioned towards the end that the book belonged first to Snape's mother who then gave it to him. That wouldn't have fit well with the plot now, would it have? Plus that could have caused some serious delays.. Also.. I don't remember him going into the Hufflepuff common room.. He ran through the entrance hall where he walked by several Hufflepuffs, but..
  17. That's part of the problem though. It's not just pixels anymore. The line between reality and computer-generated images is becoming increasingly blurred. I mean, look at where we were with computer game graphics 10 years ago. Think of where we'll be 10 years from now. Although, there is the possibility that we could hit a wall soon, and what we have now is as good as we'll get for a long while..
  18. Don't get me wrong, though. I think it's silly they got an AO rating for something that wasn't intented to be in the final game. Though they should've realized that it would be cracked easily and taken it out. I think though, agreeing with something I saw on another forum, that this really is just missing the larger issue that is the ineffectiveness of the current rating system.
  19. The thing is though, the only thing you have to modify is a few lines in one file of the source code. All of the animations and models and etc. are already there, you just have to enable it. It's a teeny step from a code unlockable..
  20. Any pics or a link? I find it hard to imagine a keyboard with only 25 keys :-/ its a gamepad, but since they r keys on a board they call it a keyboard (my bad for not posting that orginally) snippet from article "the ergodex dx1 input system is a "keyboard" for gamers who know exactly where they want their buttons..." Aye matt, it's a gamepad. Basically it's this special board, and 25 blank keys that you can place anywhere on the board and assign pretty much any function you want. You can also get more keys I beleive.
  21. No, it is one. 1 - .9 repeating = 0. You can't have .0 repeating 1
  22. I thought that an administrator account was the exact same as administrator?
  23. I just saw it.. It's definitely different than the first, but I think it's just as good. I don't think it's fair to compare the two. The first was more a serious feel-good kind of thing, the new one is definitely a comedy. Jonny Depp was awesome, if you ask me. The only part I really didn't like was the ending. --spoiler-- Charlie went from being completely uncomfortable about even thinking about his father, to going and visiting him. Plus the whole house moving halfway 'round the world thing would've been nice had it been explained. I don't think it completely ruined the movie, though.
  24. Yeah, I think they're called Logical Fallacys. They can be true logically, but they can't be proved. An example: Kenny lies whenever he says something. Kenny says something. Hence, you can assume he's lieing. I can't really explain the relevancy between that statement and the equation 1=2, but basically, it can be true, but only in one way. And in that one way, it's still not true. Basically an endless contridiction or proving it false or true, hence Circular Reasoning. Guh, I don't think that made much sense, but neither does what I'm trying to explain. Oh, I know full-well what circular reasoning is. I was saying that I didn't know if circular reasoning would be a good explanation of the flaw in the equation.. And yeah, .9 repeating does equal 1.
  25. Sorry, the "if you have a shred of intelligence" wasn't directed at you, or anyone. And the part I was saying was self-explanatory was the setup once you get the disk in and stuff.
