  1. It is a cool game. Why not stop feeding the evil Ebaumsworld and play the game on it's (I think) original home? http://saty-home.com/prouge/pro.php?proid=28
  2. I agree there, and maybe I should have worded it differently. We can estimate measurements, and so we can say that such and such is for an absolute truth around 10 meters long..
  3. I think some things can be absolute, but most are inabsolute... Like, how fast is 65 miles per hour? Well, we invented miles, and hours, so we can measure both things and say for sure, yeah, that's absolutely 65 miles per hour. Things like "Am I here right now?" is a different story. But that brings in all kinds of weird things beyond current human comprehension, so I won't go there..
  4. Blaaaagh. I HATE flash sites, with an undying passion. They're just so counterintuitive to web-browsing, and, in my opinion, are a lazy way out. The really nice sites are the ones that don't have to use flash, maybe some javascript, but mostly just well coded good old html and php. http://www.artofadambetts.com/ That's probably my favorite site of all time. It's clean, it's cool, but it's also fast and flat, not flash.
  5. http://onestar.deviantart.com/journal/6061173/ Jark, cofounder of Deviantart is mysteriously not staff anymore. This is in support of his apparent ousting. I won't give you anything more than that, because I really don't know much more. But please, in support of the community, submit NOTHING on August 7th.
  6. There's a corrolation between those two sometimes. Whether the intelligence caused the insanity or vice versa.. *shrug*
  7. Title won't be realeased for a good long time yet. This one wasn't released until late last year, I think.. Supposedly Rowling is taking the rest of this year off to spend time with her daughter, then is going to "really start writing" the 7th book. So, 2 years, approx...
  8. Guys, who cares what words he uses? This is a discussion thread for Harry Potter, not who has the best vocabulary.
  9. I've known about the site for ages... haven't been in a while. The new iceberg picture is really sweet.. What was really cool is that his dual-screen wallpapers used to be free.. :(
  10. "Sicken" is such a strong word, Matt. Do you really mean it? I agree that it's a silly thing to end your life over, but are you telling me your lack of sympathy goes so far as to say he sickens you? I think it's more sad than anything, and what I think is more said is that this guy obviously had some problems, and nobody helped him, or he wouldn't allow them to.
  11. Inappropriate comment. Don't be a jerk. I agree that the scammer is a jerk, a cyperpunk, but he shouldn't be blamed for this guy's decision to end his life. Nor should Areanet be blamed..
  12. I doubt he'll have to sacrifice Ginny. It was made fairly clear that the horcrux that was the diary was destroyed, and therefore so was the peice of Voldemort's soul that was in it..
  13. Take a look at any of your previous posts and it will say under your name.
  14. I rather like the Geico commercial that makes fun of reality television shows.. mostly because it's so freaking accurate. The first time I saw it I honestly thought that they were going to make a new show called "Small House".. Most of the geico commercials are funny, though. Like the one where the gecko is singing kung-fu fighting, and everyone stops, and stares, and then everyone starts singing. The ones for Citi identity theft prevention are always funny. There's also the one, I can't remember for which debt management company, but there's this guy, smiling all the time, and he says: "I'm a member of the country club. I have a huge house. I have a great car. How do I do it? I'm in debt up to my eyeballs! Somebody help me!"
  15. I would probably turn them into my boss, or whoever was running the gig, in vain hope that I might get a small reward for my honesty.. :( Must really suck to wake up the next day and find yourself short $3000... although if you're willing to gamble while you're dead drunk I suppose $3000 might not be so much..
  16. Every once in a while when I come back to my computer after having locked it, I find that there is no login window, just my wallpapers visible, nothing else (my wallpapers don't show when there is the login window), so I'm forced to do a hard restart. I don't see any system errors in corrolation with this. I do run a custom loginUI called LogonStudio, but I turned it off for a week or two and the problem still occured, so I don't think it's that.
  17. When I leave my computer for periods of longer than 10 minutes or so, I lock it and turn my monitors off. Recently, when I come back and turn my monitors back on and log in, I have a series of flickering white lines along the bottom of one monitor. They go away after about 5 minutes or so, but they seem to be getting worse (more lines..go away just as fast though). Any ideas?
  18. Actually, no, nothing I tried would fix it.. I ended up fixing it by complete accident. Her camera came with some photoalbum software or something, and I got pissed that it added these icons, and I couldn't get an option to delete them or anything, so I found and deleted the registry entries for them. I guess I messed-up one of them. When I had to uninstall/reinstall the program for something, the screwed-up icon popped back to what it used to be, and it now had an option to remove it. So I did. :)
  19. If you're thinking of trying Opera, just for your information, Matt's screenshot is outdated. The newest version of Opera has a revamped default interface, revamped preferences area, and overall is a lot cleaner than previous versions.
  20. Default controls use a combination of the mouse and keyboard. You can technically play using just the keyboard, but it's immensely easier to have a mouse as well.
  21. More specific error messages? Exactly which other programs did you try? What were the specific error messages in those programs? Are you able to burn DVDs?
  22. Dumbledore is not coming back, at least not as a person or a ghost or similar. I read the Mugglenet/Leaky Cauldron interview of Rowling, and she basically said that she killed off Dumbledore so that the hero, being the hero would have to do what he has to do alone. Really though, his death was being set-up through the whole book, as other people have said. Thinking he's still alive is just being delusional and in denial.
  23. You're right. Don't get me wrong, it does suck no matter who it happens to, but you know what I mean. It'd be like a nursing home being blown up or something...
  24. Sucks when this happens in something like Boy Scouts..
