Or perhaps you're just more into eyecandy than actual good design? Good design isn't just about making things flashy, it's about presenting content in a way that's both good-looking, and user-friendly. Flash sites do look cool, I won't deny that. But they just aren't very condusive to browsing lots of content..

I implore you, please, for the love of all art that is good and holy. Don't use the buddy kit! Do something original, do something yourself.

Maybe require that artists don't guess their own work right? just pick one at random and switch and that artists aren't allowed to win?

I wanted that set so badly when I was a kid, Matt.. I think I got the smaller Aquanauts base, though.. I also had a couple of the time-traveler series, including the main big castley thingy, a couple of the old alien sets, and most recently the giant tunelling machine thing from the miner series.. I still have most of the peices, hardly any if any at all of the sets are still in-tact, though.

I'm in.. should be fun.. :)

Instead of going and "flaming" his stuff on his thread, you should've just politely asked him not to post on your thread unless it was constructive. That being said, however, Maximumu, Rhys, your posts on this thread and maximumu's thread were no better. You should've just ignored him.

I've seen almost all of those stunts done before... or at least ones so much like it that the difference is negligable.. The jumps onto the boat was cool, though.. as was the bus flipping... and the guy getting off and then back onto his bike in midair..

Similar thing happened to me once.. My mom bought this little set of drawers at a sale somewhere.. We get it home and open it up, and discover what we thought was a library card catalog, is actually files from some insurance company. Has all kinds of client info, including social security numbers and etc.. We were on the news, and I beleive turned the thing into the police...

Still looks tacky man. I thought you had made some real progress with your current sig. It got an element of realism, and it's still tasteful. I think that's what's missing from most of your work. Elegence, a touch of class. I don't know if your current sig happened by fluke, but I'm gonna assume it didn't. Take whatever you did it it, and experiment with that, not with weird atmospheres and concepts. I was just about to make a similar post myself. Your current sig is much better than this.. You also need to work on your typo, I think. You use the same font/color on every sig......

"Dead" comes to mind more than calm. Calm is usually soothing, this isn't..

The sky is too distracting, IMO, or at least the way it's being done now. It looks for everything like you took a kind of bland landscape and just upped the contrast and/or saturation really high.

I've often wondered that myself.. the sort of like "physics" of magic.. How do you make new spells? Is there only one way for a spell to happen? But I think it'd be too difficult to explain, so, just ignore it and call it "magic"

Another reason I dislike flash sites is that you can't link to any part of the site except the site itself, which is supremely annoying. Other sites that do that but not with flash annoy me as well (like RS.com)..
