There is a reason why the GE is that big now. That is because it is always one of most busiest places, which creates a lot of lag for people with bad specs (or just with macs like me, because java for mac is crap sadly). Luckily as an ironman I don't ever need to go to that place (except for a few tasks)

Wasn't that the original intention of Dungeoneering? Pandering to what was considered disgustingly rich at the time? If you're referring to floor selling I don't think so. In fact I recall people even getting banned for it, as a psuedo-autotyping ban. The original original plan for Dungeoneering was a separate game, 'Mechscape..' I don't see how money entered into it but I'd be interested to find out... Mechscape and Dg are not remotely related. Mechscape which later became Stellardawn then got put on 'pause' is an entirely sperate sci-fi game that has absolutely nothing remotely dg like about it. What stellardawn did end up informing was engine updates that allow rs to do more and the Transformers game. I am not sure about mechscape, but I am fairly sure that dungeoneering was not originally planned for runescape but as an entirely separate game, but in the end they decided it was better to put it in runescape.

Sounds like your ISP (or some setting in your router) is blocking it somehow. It might help to add an open DNS to your connection (google it to know how to) for example you could use Googles open DNS (8.8.8.8)

Strange, than my memory has been wrong, as I became a player when slayer was released (I remember noticing an extra icon), slayer got released in january 2005. Well I remember a time where I think willow? was the highest bow usable in f2p, then it got upgraded to yew and now they can use magic, so it has already changed a few times :P Also according to the runecape wikia f2p can use Gravite shortbows (through dungeoneering tokens), which seems to be better than a magic shortbow :) Maple was the highest they could use for the longest time, with Adamant arrows.Then EoC came out and they got access to Magic bows... except they left Yew bows as P2P-only, until they finally made them F2P a couple months ago. Oh you are right, it wasn't yew but maple. But I remember being f2p and not being able to use mithril arrows ;)

So what point are you trying to make? What do you want to discuss? I am a bit clueless to that. Do you mean that runescape is not the only game with these kinds of holiday events? That is nothing new, just look at mobile games, which are much much worse at holiday events.

They said it is kind of for events :p so people are on the same time. Also I don't mind it being an hour of for me, but why does it flicker on and off... I cannot stand that so I deleted it... And somehow they thought it was wise to always use the fullest water can :p I rather use the most empty one first (I always take 3-4 watering cans with me while farming)

yeah, a system without GE was great /sarcasm, remember the times you had a lot of "useful" items and stand in bank shouting "bank sale" and waiting for people to trade with you so you could maybe sell something they didn't know you had? Also buying essence took long.
