Ugh, i hate this time of the year for cinema :P But anyway, im looking forward to Stephen Kings 1408 which looks quite good, as well as the already mentioned Stardust for the cast. That's it really.
  2. Gotta say, the soundtrack for 24 Hour Party People rocks aswell.
  3. I live in Manchester, and I love it. It's livley, cultured, fun, theres tonnes of things to do, theres hardly any crime, theres lots of history, the shopping has become like you would expect in London if not slightly better. So when this guy says Manchester is a hell hole he must live somewhere different from where I do. There are a few areas that have a bad reputation like any city and those are currently going through huge re-development plans by the councils. And to be honest, the center of Manchester since it's continuting re-development has become nearly on par with cities like Paris. It's a great place to live, and in my opinion lots better than London.
  4. mhm, i wouldn't take a link to seriously that actually belives there is a possibility of things like these happening: And i read some of the predictions and laughed, i mean it was stuff like "This woman said an event will happen soon!" wow. And another one conviniently said something about how great these predictons are because they may not happen so if they don't it doesn't invalidate the "spiritual awareness", so basically they're morons.
  5. The film of it, or the live version?
  6. They look for a special type of person, i applied but didn't get a interview. Neither did another friend. However one got into Oxford anyway. It's pretty damn tough. However i was kind of glad since i want to experience University something which im sure can't be fully done with the amount of pressure they put you under.
  7. London rocks, but Manchester is still the most livley place for culture, music and experience. Anyway, forget all the stereotypes that we live in towers and castles or in depressing streets with cobbled roads. Englands a beautiful country at places because of our history mainly, and it's a hell of a lot of fun!
  8. what song are those lyrics from in your signature? The Seeker by The Who. Now - God Only Knows - The Beach Boys
  9. I never said it was...
  10. Yes, because clearly, music found inspirational by one individual has to qualify to the subjective label "deep". Deep isn't an entirley subjective label, and even if it was what is your point?

What did he do that was bad? I live in a bubble.

  14. He is president, not a voter. If you were to vote on your morality then thats fine, but as president you should do whats best for the general public and act on the general will. Vetoing because it stands the wrong side of his personal morality doesn't represent anyone, not even christians because his personal morality differs from other christians. That and you should really respect the seperation of church and state, and since his morality is derived from the Bible it does not. In every decision he makes he shouldn't ask himself whether it's immoral to him he should ask whether the population of the USA think it's unethical. Christianity isn't the only religion in the USA and i reckon that if you had a Muslim president who chose to make decisions based on this morality then I doubt you'd be too happy.
  15. Too many, but will name at a later date. And man, can't you think of something deeper than "Good Charlotte", "Linkin Park" and "Greenday" to inspire you? Thats kinda sad considering the amount of music out there thats superior in every single way.
  16. It would be more helpful if you answered me point by point, rather than re-educate me on Aristotle, no matter how interesting it is :P It seems like you're relying on absolute's and ignoring degree's of different properties.
  17. No. I'd rather have Sunday morning sex. But really, this question isn't very relevant to anyone since most people would never date and therefore fall in love with soemone who was a die hard religious fanatic or a religious fanatic wouldn't date and fall in love with an Atheist. As it's clear that it's not going to work if each of them are constantly trying to convert or deconvert the other.
  18. Can you elaborate on the part in bold, since i don't really know what you're saying. Seems like you're saying that because you find the mind to be rational it can't be irrational at the same time and vice-versa. Thats not the case though, since i can be both rational in one thought and irrational in the next. Which i guess would lead the mind to become an absurdity and be able to possess the function of rationality and irrationality at the same time. Which would therefore lead to there being no reason any supernatural quality must exist.
  19. Bush will veto, so I garuntee it wont happen. But anyway, if it did it's not like America cuts all ties with Iraq and lets it fend for itself. I mean they'll still be support there, only a moron would take everything away as it would lead to many problems internationally and with the UN.

  21. I watched Die Hard last night, after i saw Die Hard 4.0 a few days ago. Die Hard 4.0 was alright... i mean if it wasn't for Bruce Willis is would have sucked. The villain Thomas Gabriel was awful, what the hell happened to Alan Rickman and Jeremy Iron type villians that are witty and sophisticated? This dude was just annoying. Another thing was his new buddy for the movie who was pretty awful, and his friend "warlock" who took on every stereotype under the sun. I know Die Hard even the first one stereotyped it's villians or henchmen to a degree but this was just painful. It wasn't really a Die Hard film since it lacked it's dark humour, irony, incredible villain and some ninja woman who kicks the hell out of him after everything he's been through. Yeah right. I understand Die Hard usually has an element of technology to it but this was just 100% computers and stopping them, it got annoying and old. What the hell happened to him being a normal cop too? Yeah some things in previosu movies were un-relaistic but taking down a military jet with a [bleep]ing truck. Give me a break.
  22. mhm, it's basically if your parrent(s) earn under x amount of money you get some money each week thats supposed to go towards helping with buying food, travel expenses ect. But in actual fact the majority of people get like the eqivilant of $50 a week that goes towards things that have nothing to do with college.

Yet another quality post by Abyssalwhip. Bush is human, humans are prone to make bad choices in life, this man has shown he is just another human. Just an incredibly stupid human.Well, it only reflects the intelligence of those who elected him  If I would of been old enough in the last election, I would have voted for him. He had a good plan, but it would be impossible to have a perfect plan with Afghanistan, Iraq, and threats from Iran. I believe things were going extremely well until after Hussein was captured. So many things began happening; nuclear threats from Iran, threats from new extremist groups, etc. There could be no perfect plan at that point. What was this genious plan Bush had? His plan was nieve and stupid from the start, there are three religious sects all fighting over a region that can not possibly be divided fairly between them. Sadam Hussein controlled the country and kept the sects in order with fear now that the fear is gone it's a free for all. Really, his plan was always [bleep]ing ridiculous and i think the billions of dollars spent on divising and implementing his plan could have been better spent on experts who knew what the hell they were talking about. Billions of dollars may not get you the perfect plan but i'd hope that it would get you a plan that was actually somewhat successful in getting the country back on it's feet in later years. Im tired with all the people who say "Well Bush is just human, he makes mistakes" he's a president for gods sake, he has the most intelligent people at his service which he can ask for advice from anytime he likes. It was atleast a communal screwing up from him and his advisors.
  24. I didn't get EMA and most people i knew who did get it used it for stuff that didn't have anything to do with college. If you give it one person, give it to everyone. It's unfair.
  25. Indeed Tarantino has just become a brand name really, and his name is splattered over anything he produces as if he has major influence in it. Like directing and stuff which isn't the case. Anyway Tarantino's alright, I'm not his biggest fan but his last few movies have been a let down (Kill Bill, Grindhouse). I hope his war movie starts up again soon.
