  1. No.. when it came out, the prices were crazy.. like 50M if I remember correctly.. I bought my first whip for 15M.. I think it may have taken a whole year to get to 5-6M. Inflation is normal in any economy, including the RS economy.. but it's clear that inflation is not the recent cause in the rise of whips. It was the PvP/BH updates that did it, which was expected.
  2. No I've never personally trained there, but at your level, I would be shocked if you could find something better. The only downside to them is they don't drop anything except bones.. but I mean, if you're maxing out your potential xp, who cares about the drops? I don't see why you couldn't range there.. Im sure it would be good xp as well.
  3. They can be busy but it's well worth it... I mean, rock crabs have half the hp, so you'll get double the xp for a single kill at experiments.
  4. Definitely not at your combat level. Experiments would be ideal for you. lvl 25 combat and 100 hits. It's practically cheating. :D See here: http://www.tip.it/runescape/index.php?rs2monster_id=444
  5. Thank you! People, it's clear as day that you are NOT allowed to have two accounts logged in at the same time. Again, read the Runescape rules they have on the site. You can only play one account at a time. http://www.runescape.com/rules/rule_multiple_logging.ws It looks like its fairly recent - May 12, 2009... So whoever has friends who have been doing it, maybe Jagex hasn't really been enforcing it until then. I know back when I first started playing, from 2002 up until 2005 (when I quit), this was not an issue, because no browsers supported tabs.. but when I got back into the game last month, I checked it out right away, and sure enough, it's banned.
  6. You can buy it for 1 gp (I believe) from any slayer master.. If that's the gem you're talking about...
  7. They would be a lot faster.. babies definitely.
  8. They drop charms :| , blue charms fairly often I may add. To address the second part, dusties arent too bad... Oh sweet, gonna hop over there when I get back to attack. Dust Devils though? Training on a lvl 93 npc doesn't seem like a good idea. I can see you're at 68 summoning, any other "okay" or "relatively good" npcs that drop good numbers of charms.. crimson preferred but green is okay too. Damn, I totally hijacked IeatWindex's topic.. :\
  9. How much are Azs exactly? I've heard 60-80k an hour, but is that with a whip, or with a scim (strength training).. cause if its with a scim, I'd be all on board... too bad they don't drop charms.. any good [green/crimson] charm droppers? Edit: Do dags drop charms? Cause from what I can remember, they're pretty good xp are they not
  10. Every time someone asks this question, it's pretty much either Azs or zombie monkeys that come up as answers. Anything else?? lol And anything (does not have to be afkable) that's decent xp, at least 40-60k an hour, that drops a good number of charms (preferably green or crimson..) (Sorry to hijack your topic btw; just no point in me making another) Edit: and yeah slayer is way TOO SLOW combat xp.
  11. Is it better to do it in a BH world or Pvp world or no difference? And 76k for members, right? 26k for free servers? Obviously members would be more profitable...
  12. I remember just before I quit 4 years ago, bandits were very popular. I tried it again a few weeks ago - and I got 43k xp per hour - no potting, with a dragon scimmy (training strength). (with 88 att, 88 str) I would imagine with a whip it would be 50-60k an hour, which is not bad, and you really don't have to worry about dying if you have a good defence.. they rarely hit. Bring a couple hundred noted lobbies with money (for me personally, a whole inventory of lobbies [26ish] lasted for a whole 2 hours), so you sell and buy them back in the general store.. You don't want to lose your spot, cause it's hard to find one.
  13. Umm, why turn public chat off? Why not just turn off the chat effects? That's what I do. They don't make me lag, but they are really annoying.. There's a reason they have an appeal process... I'm sure Jagex has an accurate detection system, but it is not full proof, much like a lie detector test. Mistakes can be made. Make sure to fit all that you can in the little space that they provide you; be coherent, mature.. watch out for spelling and punctuation, etc. Don't lay the blame on them - simply state that there was a mistake.
  14. If someone else had access to your account (i.e. you were hacked), I would assume that Jagex would be able to check that pretty easily, by checking all the IPs that have logged into the account. But yes, be coherent, polite.. grammar and spelling are important as well.
  15. Definitely not. They will go down - they will not "crash" though.. just naturally drop in price as the supply grows.. happens to all new(er) items (don't know how new the claws are, I would guess a few months old?). Not a good investment at all cause the price WILL drop long term, unless you're an amazing pker who can use them to pk well.. even then I wouldn't though, unless you could make back at least at least 20M because of the claws themselves. In conclusion: terrible investment - you do not want to blow your money on something that will go down to 5-10M in a years time.
  16. Huh? A town called Oog'log (not sure on exact spelling) has a shop that sells raw bird meat. Dirt cheap. Go to this guide, under obtaining secondaries look for bird meat--> viewtopic.php?f=103&t=744156 Buying them from Oog'log or GE isn't silly either. Silly would be spending 3 hours killing birds, earning almost no experience, just to gather 1k bird meat. Sometimes you just have to swallow that pride and be lazy ;) Indeed. Looking at it from an economic perspective, it's a higher cost to waste time gathering the meat himself, than to buy the meat off the g/e.
  17. I pity you. Barrows IS the best armour in game in terms of all-round runescaping and anyone who thinks dragon or rune is better is just... Stupid, really. No offence intended, but I'm convinced you've never even used barrows if your reasoning for hating it is the repairing. I didn't say rune or dragon are better. I said they are more practical. Like I said, why would I use barrows on something that never hits me? And yes I have used barrows before - working on making junk (through training fletching) so I can get one of my sets back from a friend that I gave to after I quit the game 4 years ago. And I do have barrows now, just not a full set (just came back to the game a month ago - made a couple of mil, but still not willing to throw away 90k on defence stats I don't need.. and unable to get anything back from my friend cause of the new trade restrictions).
  18. Barrows is arguably one of the best armors in the game. Have you even looked at the bonuses they give? Plus the recharging is only once every 15 hours, and if you can afford Barrows, then I'm sure you could cover the recharge cost. Yes, and I'll use my barrows sometimes, but when I do combat, 90% of the time, it's to train the specific combat skill (att, str, def)... and of course I'm not going to be training on something that's above say... level 60, so there's no point in having good defence and wearing barrows.. its a waste. And yes, it's only every 15 hours, but 15 hours passes quick.
  19. Barrows is the least practical armor ever.. Having to recharge it all the time is stupid. I'd take dragon any day. As a lvl 70, why not just stick with rune? Who cares what people say?
  20. You're gonna need it for 99 attack and it's one of the best weapons in the game. Keep it. Even before the recent PvP/Bh update, prices were going up... I think they were at 1.7M or 1.8M when that update came into force, then it shot up to 1.9M I guess.. If it does go down, it probably won't go down below 1.5M, and for a while at least. I see it staying at 1.7M-1.9M for months.
  21. Ugh, who would want to be a pmod? Jagex would always be watching you, and you'd be completely limited in what you can say and do (I don't like arguing with little kids, but sometimes I just gotta say something)..
  22. Attack would be easier - you can use a whip to train it.. whereas with strength you're most likely going to be stuck with a dragon scimmy.. For f2p Pvp - attack is more useful. For p2p PvP - strength is more useful. I myself have never tried pking in members pvp, and won't bother.. cause with the godswords, drag claws, even magicks updates, it's just a death trap. I haven't pked in members (when wild was around) since whips came around... so honestly, as a f2p pker (although haven't been doing it much since I came back to the game), 99 attack would be a lot more useful than 99 strength, no matter what anyone says.. the weapons in f2p suck, so you definitely need the attack advantage.
  23. YES, I agree, junk IS useless 99% of the time.. I even dismissed it a while ago when someone suggested it on here.. There's a huge opportunity cost.. BUT, since I was planning on raising my fletching anyways, it seems like a pretty damn good idea. If it wasn't for the fletching xp, there's no way I'd do it, cause just like you said, you can make more money doing other things. In my case: -Going from 63-75 fletching (big motivation) -cost of the logs - ~700k -profit (after I get my verac's back which I plan on selling away) - ~2M
  24. Sorry to jump in and hijack your topic OP but.. Maple longs seems like a good solution. If I make about 15-20k maple longs (u) (2.16M to 2.88M gp according to the price of maple longs (u) on the g/e?), can I use it to trade for a verac's set (story: left 4 years ago, gave it, along with a number of other items to a friend, who was gonna give it back when I came back to the game a month ago, but we realized she couldn't).. Is that how "junk" works?
