what ever happened to paint shop pro? Did they get shut out?

We had the same problem at our school - whenever we would try to build it, it would give us a bunch of errors about some restriction BS. The admins had to jury rig something, but our EXE's were automatically made when we built/compile, it would just be in the projects folder.

Try right clicking my computer, and going to properties, go to the hardware tab, and then click device manager. What does it show for your USB ports? It could be possible that there was some kind of surge... but I doubt it, I'd rather tell you that it's just a problem with your motherboard and simply reinstalling your drivers would fix it - but it's a long shot. As for java, are you using sun java or microsoft java VM? Try clearing your java cache

I'm not familiar with the google video format, do you have any video editing software or codecs you could use to convert it? Maybe link me to the video and I'll see if I can convert it without too much quality lost for you?

View the page source, then search for the file, then just put it in your browser and do save as. I do this with alot of [extension not allowed] files imbeded into pages as well.

Trillian for sure... my friend uses some other program similar to trillian, starts with an M I beleive, can't remember it for the life of me, but he swears by it.

You'll have to get the monitors refreshrate to match that of the camera... the reason the lines appear is because the monitor is "flashing" on and off at different times then the camera recording it... I think most camera's record at 24 FPS, but don't quote me on that because I really can't remember. Anyway, just try recording your monitor with different refresh rates, and then play it back. I doubt youll be able to get rid of the scrolling line, but you should at least be able to minimize it's effects.

Use the windows tool "disk cleanup" to get rid of temp files and compress your old files. Also delete all the old backups of windows accept the most recent, also try turning off the fast-indexing feature, and limit the size of the cache for internet explorer

Could be a lot of things - if the lights are flashing only occasionally its probably either bad wiring, the mobo is junked, or the PSU is dying. I would guess the latter, but don't go monkeying around with the power supply because it's a good way to get electrocuted.

What specifically is over heating? Your graphics card? The CPU? If it's the cpu, it could be a bad /cracked heatsink. Cheap ways to coop with overheating is getting another case fan or buying thermal paste - both are reltivly cheap. Otherwise, just open up the side of your case and let the air flow naturally, shouldnt pose any problems.
