I second the classic winamp - easy to navigate / organized and still informitive... plus it has some of the sweetest pluggins you could ever immagine.

You'll have to get a host - thats where you upload the site for people to view it. Paying for one will mean that you don't have to worry about banners or stupid URLS, free ones generally mean popups, banners, ect.

theres a few other things to take note of aswell. Using a headset, especially for FPS games, is incredibly helpful compared to using speakers, as you get a sence of depth and movement - makes it so much simpler listening for oponents. But one thing you'll want to consider, if your getting a sound card with 6.1 / 7.1 DolbyDigital Surround sound, it won't be as usefull unless your using a headset that supports 6.1 / 7.1 surround sound. I myself have yet to get a soundcard, but thats because I'm waiting for the one I want to finish development :roll:

When I first read his post I was really confused, I thought he might have been talking about wild cards - if thats the case I think it's explained on the search page that * is the text wild card, I don't think it supports anything for % or $ or anything

I use polish / car wax on all my old games - beleive it or not it fixes it. It's really just a temp fix, since the wax eventually fades out, but I just keep the bottle next to my ps2.

I don't see anyone claiming anything about Firefox's speed in this topic actually. While howtocreate.co.uk/browserSpeed.html seems to be based on some vague research and fact, firefoxmyths.com is complete and utter bull. I've spent a considerable amount of time reading over the firefixmyths website and reviewing it's sources. And I must say I fail to see where this "utter bull" is warranted? I think a lot of those myths are justified in the multiple sources available. However I agree the website is extremely bias, and similar nit picky sort of arguments could be made about pretty much anything. Some of the stuff they say though is just incredibly stupid... for example, they say that IE is faster from a cold boot than FF. DUH?!?!?! I would hope so, considering IE is integrated into the OS and is started as soon as windows boots up, since all the navigation in windows depends on it - of course its going to be faster than FF when your opening a IE window.... I like the section that says you can use tabbed browsing with IE6 as well, all you have to do is go out of your way and install some spyware infested, annoying, obnoxious tool bar. I say this because every tool bar I've ever seen in IE as been just that, even the google tool bar aggrovates me. The security section is the best - "Firefox isn't secure since it has a few bugs" and then they go on to say that every program is going to have bugs... common sense, but the ammount of exploits seen in IE is nothing of that to compare to FF. I wish they would actually crunch some numbers here rather then just talk talk talk. This sites dumb, and while they have a couple valid points, they lose all credibility since they just enjoy bashing FF with stupid [cabbage] like "opera is .00391 seconds faster then FF" who the hell cares? Stfu and go get owned by IE giving you spyware...

Better still; never let keyloggers be installed in the first place. I installed keyloggers on my own computers - good way to keep track of what other people are doing to your machine, key loggers don't nesesarilly just log keys, but they can keep track of what windows were open, what buttons were clicked, what executables were ran and what sites had been visited. In reality, keyloggers are like the ultimate admin tool, too bad they are used for other means.

it's a program used a lot of times for people to get info thru... I can't really explain it. Think of it it this way, if you have a big spreadsheet with a lot of graphs and what not, you might use adobe acrobat, post it on the internet, and then people can simply click the link, and it will open in your acrobat reader just like a webpage would, only it's more interactive and what not. It is also commonly used for things like newspapers or leaflets. This is really the best way I can describe it. Personally I don't care for it, its useless to me and it lags whenever I use it anyway, depite computer specs.

open the AVI in windows movie maker.... why wouldnt you be able to do that? And FYI, no one wants to watch a blurry movie, the quality of RS movies is bad enough without annoying effects like that.

Good idea, insult the people your asking help from. Don't bite the hand that feeds you. Like cruiser said, this is a forum, and in addition to that it isn't like we are being paid to sit around and answers people questions or solve their problems. The card you picked out will run FEAR and Guild wars just fine, though it is AGP meaning it won't be as good as if you had bought a PCI-E card - doing that would require a different motherboard though. Basically, what you put together is what people would have put together a year or so ago, which is fine, it will still run todays games just fine but don't expect to be playing next years games on high, or medium at that.

this happens to me, if I have 2 windows of FF open (but really, it's random), rather then using tab, if I try typing in google or any text box for that matter, the find text thing shows up - so I have to close the 2nd window and make a tab for google in orgional window. Kind of annoying, but not enough so that I care to figure out what causes it or attempt to fix it.

If it was blocking connections he wouldn't be on RS at all. Blocked connections don't cause lag... :? true, accept that there are many instances in which even when ports are unblocked, firewalls cause lag as they try to interperit every packet coming thru to your computer - I know plenty of cases where people would have their ports corrently opened / DMZ / UPnP and still had lag because of their firewall, and when the firewall was disabled, voila no lag.

And the reason I want to know if he is using one is because it could be blocking connections to... teh interweb, and thus why he is having problems with runescape. If asking questions is being an arse, then I guess no one will ever be able to fix anyone problems around here. Sorry for my attempt at getting to the root of the problem, since every one has such a problem with me commenting on T&C I might as well just leave - you know its not like I ever tried to helped or anything....
