yea, real player is borderline spyware/malware IMO, whenever I see it on my sister's / grandma's / aunt's computers I remove it.

Need a ventrilo server?
I own a 50 slot ventrilo server, bought and paid for... any teams / clans / guilds for any game are welcome to use it free of charge as long as you abide by the server rules (basically no spam or illegal activites). The vent server is located in Texas, if your interested, let me know and I will pass the IP / Port along to you, and set your team up with a channel and admin.

:: Need some help with HTML ::
man... the other night I was on the corner of 5th and washington. I looked down and noticed I was standing on some HTML, then some guy came up to me, shoved me, and ripped it out from under my feet. Needless to say, I fell over and got all wet. Now I smell bad. :P actually I lied, I was on 5th and lincoln... I get those confused all the time.

How do you store batteries?
er, I've left batteries idle for months at a time, charged, uncharged, you name it... never had any problems, and these are the batteries I've been using for 3 years now.

os change
Omg, xp can seriously run on that? Well I would advise against Windows ME for sure, that is the worst OS I have ever seen in my entire life, it had more glitchs, errors, and random crashs then any other OS, ever. If you want to experiment, I would go with Linux.

*Windows Live Messenger*
how can he do that when he can't actually get into the program before it locks up... and that isn't even a fix for his problem, thats just a jury rig. I don't even think there is an option to do so.

Please help!!! I donno what to do next about this virus!
0KB means your AV deleted or cleaned it, most likely the latter. If it was a 100kb virus, and nothing else was bundled with it, then 0kb would be left... I've had this happen a few times with mcafee when I manually go to the file that won't let me delete it. Just go into safe mode and delete it, though it's no longer dangerous. If you want, go ahead and post a HJT log.

Windows media player 11 problem!
Everyone in T&C helps based purely on good will, it's not as if we are being paid to answer your questions. On top of that, despite us being geek and nerds, we do have lives, or at least would like to think so. As far as your problem, it could either be an issue with the shortcut pointing to the wrong target, or something has corrupted your WMP. First, check the short cut by right clicking it, going to properties, and looking at the target, it should be "C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer[Caution: Executable File] If not, change it. If that isn't the problem, your going to have to uninstall WMP 11. Doing so will automatically revert it back to WMP 10. To do this, go to start >> settings >> control panel >> add / remove programs. Once there make sure you have the "shot windows updates" option checked, now you'll have to figure out which "hotfix" is the update to WMP 11, I would suggest doing a google or going to the microsoft website. Once you uninstall it, like I said, it will go back to WMP 10. It should be able to start just fine now. When it starts, it will ask you if you want to update... doesn't matter, you can either choose 'no' and use the outdated version, or click 'yes' and hope it works this time, and if it doesn't... well at least you'll know how to uninstall it. If WMP 10 doesn't start, then you'll have to revert to 9 or use your windows cd to completely remove it and reinstall it.

Looking for the cheapest gaming computer... ecollegepc.com??
go to newegg or tigerdirect and get a barebones computer, thats basically what you descibed, as in it's mostly complete but you would just need to toss in an extra component... barebones generally come with mobo, processor, ram, power supply, and sometimes hard drives. It usually is just missing video and sound cards, sometimes a hard drive, and you usually want to upgrade the RAM a bit.

Lookin for some proggies

PS vs. Elements
actually thats not true. My sister bought photoshop for like $80 because she was a "student" and they offer some kind of discount if you fill out a form. Same goes for teachers and buisness's, my uncle also uses photoshop for his buisness, duenkel photography... google it, he's one of the worlds most reknown photographers.

Edit: **Need help rotating display on ATI graphics card**
right click your desktop There should be an option like "nvidia display" or "ati display" or something simular to that depending on the card... click that and look thru all the options. one of the options should say something like rotate. I use nvdia. If you can't find it, do this: right click your desktop, go to properties. Click the "settings" tab, click advanced. A new window should come up, click your video card name tab (Mine says GeForce 7600 GS, yours should be similar depending on your card) your card's control panel should then come up, and you should be able to browse thru the options and find the rotation dealio.

PS vs. Elements
You can buy photoshop? Who'd-a-thunk. Personally I've tried both, photoshop had more options. People can argue that paint shop pro is more simplistic, but I find the opposite, I don't think it is as organized, and photoshop is extremely easy to learn by trial and error. I havn't heard of elements - but then again I don't stay that in tune with the new updates. I'm using photoshop CS atm, works fine for me, no need to get CS 2 or any of their other stuff.

Proof RuneScape does actully use a graphics card?
Don't bump old topics - and no your graphics card won't effect RS. Yes, your display is effected by your graphics card, but a pair of $3000 SLI cards won't make RS perform any better then a VGA onboard card. For those of you who have played qbasic games or the like, it's similar to that... your graphics card doesn't mean jack accept in terms of of color (12 bit, 16 bit, 32bit)

Recommendations for membership
Ummm... okay let's recap. You want to get a new computer for your runescape membership, but you don't think yours can handle it because your friend with windows 2000 couldn't? Well... your friend with windows 2000 was probably an idiot with 17 virus's on his computer. 128 Mb RAM is more then enough to play RS, and your OS shouldn't matter as long as you keep it up to date and secure. If you play RS F2p, its no different then P2p aside from the items One last tip, please, for the love of all that is not [developmentally delayed]ed, don't buy an alienware.... your paying thousands extra for a brand name and markup, and I know a rediculous ammount of people who ended up getting an alienware, and it didn't even work... the company refused to fix it, and instead charged the customer to ship the computer back, and then charged the customer again for a "restocking fee"... people paid over $6000 and receive no computer at all.... *edit* Cruiser, I don't like your sig changing script dealio, it confuses me too much =( -oh, and if anyone for some reason saved my sig... /r/ a link, I deleted it and apparently tip.it deleted it from my sig

Edit: **Need help rotating display on ATI graphics card**
just... uh.... use the "rotate monitor" function and say 'rotate 180 degrees'. You don't have to physically flip anything....

Looking for the cheapest gaming computer... ecollegepc.com??
.... New egg is where you buy all the parts, if you want to "customize" a computer, build it yourself. I always say if you've ever played with lego's you can manage to build a computer: 1.) Find the parts you want 2.) Order the parts 3.) ?????? 4.) Profit
