  1. Nobody you quoted references any credit to Firefox. Anyways, I believe the first browser that had a major release with tabbed browsing was Netscape. I never said they did, which is why I added - So many times I hear 'omg ie is stealing FF idea with tabs' err... wrong reread the post. and yea, it was netscape
  2. ... I asked if you had one...
  3. I so agree. How long does it take to realise tabbed browsing is awesome. Agreed completetly. Too bad tabbed browsing wasn't origional to FF - So many times I hear 'omg ie is stealing FF idea with tabs' err... wrong.
  4. my satelite is 30 a month, 5 megs down 3 up no transfer limits so you won't get capped, and there is always service unlike what people think. I get better pings the my friends who have DLS and Cable 5 miles away from me when connecting to chicago servers
  5. ahmagawt You use a firewall by any chance? Also do like cruiser suggested and scan for spyware..... and since we love HJT logs, post one so we can pretend to look at it and tell you everything 'looks fine besides a few unnessesaries'
  6. I also think it's noteable to add that in some cases, last gen video cards can compete just as well with the newer ones. I have a 7600 atm, and it's not much noticable of a difference then the 5700 I used to run. Admitedly, these are both AGP cards, and the 5700 was not exactly the greatest card in the series to begin with. Anyway, this is true in more cases than just mine. Sure, you can compare benchmarks and what not, but in most situations, games arn't puting nearly as much stress on a video card as the benchmark is, thats the point of the benchmark... to see the 'max' the card can take / put out. Gaming graphics don't seem to advance nearly as fast as the cards, now a days almost everyone can be running new games at medium or higher, no matter what gen their card is, as long as it was bought within the last 2 years and actually spent some money on it... the only diff is if the person is getting 60 fps or 70. Sure there are some differences, but nothing worth noting imo. In summary - Geforce 4 wins all teh internets!!!1 - no really, that card can run anything from doom to far cry.
  7. minus the dumb case, stupid 'pro gaming' junky mice/keyboard and headphones and windows XP home - pffft. Oh, and 120 gb is no where near enough for me, no where.... Kinda wierd how they included the fans / heatsink in that specs though - usually those would come with the case or CPU along with, sometimes, a PSU
  8. unfortunetly that isn't offered everywhere - hence the big ol' satelite dish on my house :P Actually it's pretty small...
  9. Yea that was the next step I was going to take... but that requires me going up 2 flights of stairs, finding a screw driver, and then unplugging everything from my computer to get it out of the little cubby holes its in and then finally opening it up - then generally I realize absolutly nothing is wrong and have to put it back together... then 7 weeks later everything works fine for no reason, aside from the few swift kicks given to it over time.
  10. Good add to the convo.... Biabf - does each picture need to be under 16kb, or the entire GIF file? The only thing you can do to reduce the files size is: A) Reduce frames B) Reduce quality C) Reduce colors 7) Resize it
  11. I'm game, but unfortunetly I have no clue what $4000 austrilian money translates into the US dollar... and normally I'd google it, but theres a dinosaur right behind me and I have to run.
  12. so it doesn't happen if mIRC is closed? What are you using to play RS, internet explorer, firefox, or their client? I saw you said you have IE7, did it do this on IE6? Also, you said you have their client - I know the first client they released had a bug that would ocasionally randomly close the windows, but I doubt thats what your refereing to as there was no error message, and it happened 1 in 1000 times. Anyway, try redownloading the client just to see if you still get the error, if you do - try playing it on another browser besides IE if you have it, it's not a fix, but it at least narrows down what the problem is - browser or java.
  13. If your getting disconnects, it might not be your modem, it could be the phone line. If it's an older crappy phone line, or you just get bad service, your going to get a lot of frequent disconnects. I didn't mean to confuse you, I meant that on BF2 over my satelite internet, I dropped about 30 to 40 ms after adding another 512 stick of RAM, and on battle.net servers over my 56k I dropped my ping about 200ms just by adding another 128 stick (back then that was alot)
  14. Unfortunetly tip.it doesn't support piracy and unfortunetly we never had any classes for flash or really anything besides photoshop and a variety of programming languages, though my friend got me a legit copy of 3dmax, and that was more or less something I could have cared less about.... flash on the other hand can introduce some fun elements into the schematics
  15. use your print screen button (upper right near scroll lock and suck) when you want to take the picture, then simply open up mspaint and click edit >> paste save as whatever and voila. alternatively, if you use alt+print screen to take a picture of just that window and nothing else, and then use ctrl+v to paste the picture.
  16. Basically everything he said... but when you say play the music off of it, what do you mean? If you have it plugged into your computer, they will play just as they did when they were on the origional drive - moving them to an external hard drive won't reduce the quality if you don't convert them (which is another reason converting files can be bad) and it won't take any longer to access them it would normally, or at least nothing noticable to humans. If you mean physically playing them on an external hard drive, you can't unless your external hard drive is actually an mp3 player - however if you meant like playing them in your car, I know you can do this... but you'll have to get certain jacks, and that I know nothing about.
  17. maybe someone replaced the icon for empty with the same one as the full one? I doubt it. This happens to me every so often, never really let it bug me but for me it usually goes away after a a bit, honestly I don't even notice when it goes away. I guess when I restart, but I never really gave it all that much attention.
  18. then just open it windows movie maker and edit it as you please
  19. Well firsty you said your already in imageready, make sure your not in PS. Also, if you are just using saveas its going to be a PSD... but saving optmized as should automatically be set to GIF by default. Make sure you have all your settings as follows (this is just the save optimized screen) Dunno what else to tell you, it shouldnt be trying to save it as a jpeg or anything else unless your specifying it to do that. Otherwise, you could try exporting it as a SWF and see if it allows that?
  20. Does that work with all trial periods?!? usually no, but with this particular one if you set the clock back a year or so, when you start the program up it would say "You have 330 days remaining on your trial" which was always amusing lol...
  21. 10Gb for gaming would be an extreme waste... 2 is plenty for almost any gaming need, and 4 is enough to make any current game run like a well oiled kitten. Yea, we just built a server at UWWC on a $500 budget and spare parts - some one even brought in a last-gen video card... so we beat that person up. Badly. And mailed him to his family piece by piece.
  22. After that, I doubt you know what WGA is. Not many other programs (If any) that validate your Windows Key with Microsoft's systems and then cripple your system if it decides it pirated. Windows genuine blah blah blah? Can't remmeber what the A is for - and I was always under the assumption that it did more then checking for piracy and counterfeit windows - and software alike, I always thought bundled with it was their antispyware junk... anyway, I just read this article and I'm glad I've never tried it  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Genuine_Advantage
  23. are your XP? I've heard you talk about ripping an OS, whether you ripped yours or not I really don't care.... Like I said, I run XP pro sp2 and mcafee 2005 just fine, safe mode or not. I wouldn't blame their software on it. Thats beside the point - go ragequit.
  24. Never heard that in my life, but the company called "Zonda Inc" reports that wikipedia is run by users and therefore some of the information could easilly be fabircated, just like the fact that 99% of people die from smoke inhilation, and in any case you can run it in compatibility mode, I'd rather risk that then a potential crash / explosion / treebark. Good, you've done something correct.
