  1. GJ kin you confused him... because your wrong. Joe you were right in the begining, if you have a PCI-E Slot, and the card is PCI-E, it wont matter the brand name... the only thing you have to be sure of is if the card is AGP, PCI, or PCI-E, and that the power supply will support the card.
  2. Is it just world 1, or all the worlds? Try clearing your java cache.
  3. Never had a problem yet with mcafee, and I've been using it for the past 5 years or so. Yea, they've had a few bugs... but so has every other form of software... ever. Overall, it takes up about 15 - 25m of RAM, which is fine because it's doing it's job protecting my computer. I've never had it interfere with anything accept for the occasional script kiddie... If you want to talk about interference, point your arrow towards windows firewall - "ZOMG your trying to run msword.e3e THIS COULD BE A VIRUS!!!!"
  4. If you know the process name, just go to the processes tab and end it manually there - a lot faster because it won't try to save any info or start Docter Watson / error reporting junk, instead it will just dump all the RAM the program was using.
  5. I'm not wrong. You can't proove if light is a particle or a wave, it behaves as both.
  6. They are particles that are emitted individually. They have nothing to do with waves, EM or mechanical. A mechanical wave is oscillation through a medium. Also, mechanical waves don't have a spectrum like EM ones do, so no, they aren't on the 'wave spectrum'. Even if they were mechanical waves, which they aren't, they would have nothing to do with microwave ovens. Why are you pretending you know about this stuff? It is okay to admit you're wrong. People don't think someone is an idiot for admitting they were mistaken; they think they're an idiot for pretending they know about things. Right, I don't know why you go on about mechanical waves, I never said thay they were mechanical waves to begin with, I just stated that that is a form of wave, and like I said, I never said it had anything to do with a microwave oven... I told you that 2 times now, I said that it would be no more dangerous then that. For christ sakes, read.
  7. Theres a program out there now - it allows you to watch any channel on TV for free, meaning HBO, Stars, usa, tnt, or your local news... basically all it is, someone hooks up their computer to their TV thru firewire some how and it streams what is being shown on TV, since the person paid for it, they can't be charged, and the company that made the software can't be sued because they provided the technology... but didnt force people to use it, just like P2P clients and torrents, you can't sue the NRA for gun crimes - they just provide the guns, they don't tell people to shoot each other.
  8. Quite the contrary, if you look up you'll see I actually said this: There's nothing wrong with being incorrect as long as you readily admit it when you realise... Yup, and there are two types of waves... mechanical and EM... therefore it's on the wave spectrum.
  9. No need to insult people here, he is just trying to help. This doesn't make you look oh so cool on the e-nterweb z0mg.
  10. I was using it as an example of the ammount of radiation it gives off, which is next to nothing... and sorry for not being politically correct, but as far as I am concerned - we call them rays in my college physics class, and they are on the wave spectrum, you said so your self... so who cares?
  11. There's no such things as alpha rays. There are alpha particles, which are related to radioactive decay, not electromagnetic waves. Alpha particles are helium nuclei and can't pass through a piece of paper. Alpha particles have nothing to do with microwaves or microwave ovens. This wireless power will be a big waste of energy - even directional antennas like that leak to the sides and project their beam as a cone. there are alpha, beta, and gamma rays. Look at the wave spectrum, or go to wiki...
  12. no more daisy chains, woot. They say its no more damaging then the radiation from a microwave - which is alpha rays... alpha rays can't even pass thru a piece of paper, no worries.
  13. oh okay, in that case I take it back, that makes sense.
  14. My trillian has an uptime of like 4 days - no problems here. I was just on MSN at the uni's computers as well for the last 2 hours and nada.
  15. No offence kin, but thats the dumbest advice I've ever heard. First telling him to disable any anti-virus softeware / not install it - and then to tell him to just reformat every time something goes wrong? Thats so dumb... it takes a lot of time just to format depending on the size of the harddrive, then we have to reinstall windows... drivers, boat loads of software, windows updates, anti-virus and anti-spyware software... the list goes on. Beleive me, I have a friend who lost his windows key, so he has to reformat every 30 days. Not fun... And though it would fix the problem of no longer having a virus... guess what? If it were a keylogger, it wouldnt matter... they'd already have your password because you had nothing to stop them from getting it, and by the time you get your computer back up they'd prolly have taken every last cake from your bank account.
  16. No, if anything "lags" it would be the IE screen itself Anyone with a video card - uninstall your drivers and then open up a IE screen and try to scroll up and down with the mouse wheel. Takes ages. Install the drivers and it's fine. It's not RS.
  17. I agree for the most part - especially if your going to be gaming. And if you are going to be gaming, then I retract my previous statement and say don't go with dell... anything that isn't a mid-range system from them has been overpriced to the max, and junk for how much your paying. Like I said, if I were you get the desktop now - and use the laptop once you get into college, they are very useful in a small dorm room or to take to class / the library / ect. Just note that they will both be obsolete come 2 years :-k If I were you I would just get the laptop - especially if its more for work and school then horsing around on games.
  18. arg, I'm [developmentally delayed]ed. Posted the wrong link: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... dota&hl=en Some hot [girls] for a LAN center... lol
  19. I think I speak for 99% of all english people on this forum...WHAT THE HELL!? Lol. It was a joke that most people who play RS won't get. It's a reference to basshunter's song about a WARIII mod called DOTA. http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... nter&hl=en Anyway... I have a ventrilo server - whoever want's the IP / Port just PM me, but I'd rather not spill it out into the public forums. Last time I did that I got 20 people connecting as "][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][ ][" ... stupid myg0t.
  20. Get the desktop first, and then once you hit uni get the laptop. Laptops are useful for classes and what not, more so then a desktop can be since you can work on your stuff whereever you are, plus if the proff's allow it you can use it to take notes in class. For a premade desktop, you can get decent one's much cheaper then $2000, dell's good. They have their downsides, but for what your asking for they sound good for you.
  21. from my experience and imo, gaming on a laptop stinks for multiple reasons... Other than that I really can't add anything the topic.
  22. when you pop in your windows CD, just choose install windows, and then it should say something like "but you already have windows installed!!11" and then just say "Thats ok dawg" Then itll ask if you wanna reformat or not... just say no. I will pretty much just reinstall all your windows files. Lot easier then bothering with repairing or recovery consol imo, but you could try the repair if you want. One thing to note, if you do the former mention, when you fill in your desired username, make it the same as it was previously so you don't have to 'recreate' your desktop and stoof.
  23. I got an AGP nvidia GeForce 7600 GS Very little improovement from my fx 5700. Yes, of course there is some. The card was only like 120 bucks or something, so I'm not complaining, but in reality, AGP has gone out the windows just as quickly as it came.
  24. i third it, used it for a few years and ive never had a problem with it. Well actually just one problem, i made the Media Library popup too large, and i cant resize it -.-. Such is life. Can't you just drag it and then resize it? If not then try to resize your resolution and then fix it that way, and then reset your resolution to whatever it was origionally. I dunno, c'est la vie =D>
  25. Mine (9.2 days of music... thats not even half, lol, it's a sickness) Yea, darkrick, theres a pluggin for voice recognition. It's still in beta, but you should check it out. Features commands like volume up / down, next / previous, etc. Also, if anyone here uses winamp, seriously go check out pluggins, theres something there for everyone, anything you could imagine. One of the simpilest, yet my favorite pluggin is milkdrop - all it is is a visualization but theres soooooo many more visualization then the normal swirly thing here and flashy stuff here... listening to music its mezmorizing. Especially when you have it set in desktop mode.
