A value so misunderstood today. I don't really see the point. I mean, a child goes to school somewhere between 7 and 8 hours a day. How does staying at home while they're at school help keep the presence? During the hour or so you're still at work they can go outside and play with their friends, do their homework, play video games, or whatever. When both parents are working, money is less likely to be tight, saving up for college will be much easier, you'll be able to afford vacations, which are great for family relations, and you can afford nice things for the family in general. Staying at home just seems like a waste to me, especially you'll be home for the time when they're out of school. Usually a small part-job turns into a full-time job, and then you're screwed. A stay-at-home job would be a nice alternative though. But anyway, lets say both parents work and let Mexicans clean, cook, laundry, and mow the lawn. You're wasting quite a bit of money there. Do those things yourself? Eh, I know *I* wouldn't want to spend so much time working/cleaning I won't have time for myself and my child. A stay-home parent is something I feel necessary for the best childhood. Do I scorn parents for not doing so? No, because not every family has financial stability. But it's a goal that should be reached for.

You're contradicting though. If the kid stops wanting to play baseball it must be because he is not enjoying it, so you as the parent stop forcing him to go. Years later the kid regrets not being able to continue playing baseball and decides to force their kid to play no matter what but will also not force them to do something they don't enjoy. So which one is it? Regret or enjoyment? We all have regrets, it will be stupid as anyone to try to avoid them...because in this scenario it leaves with unhappy children.

Musical ability is not necessary, neither is sports. The only thing you have to do is keep them healthy and support their interests - which can be done through a great many different ways.
  5. Install Modloader first and then the other utilities mods such as Audio mod, GUI, and such. Utilities are mods that act like a requirement for other mods so that's why you want to get them first. Then just watch out for Modloader compatibility. The huge popular mods will have it, but the smaller ones maybe they will not...this can lead to conflicts (aka crashes/issues) so try and get only Modloader compatable. I would post links to the Utilities mods, but I deleted my Mod links a while back. Start in the Modloader thread though, on it there's links to some utilities.

Well maybe not a belt, but some sort of terrible retribution for doing wrong things...you know, instead of the "*crying* Please stop yelling Timmy..."
  7. Too complicated to calculate it for my views, and I'm not going to post clichés.

    Keepin' it real.
  9. Yeah I feel the same. I still love the idea of Minecraft but I can't play more than five minutes of it. <_<
  10. Or when a bunch of rag tag hackers shut down multiplayer altogether. Yeah I hate when that ha- Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah. Don't be like that. We can spare some of our elite commands to clear up the situation. [hide][/hide]
  11. Wow. I'll give him an 'A' for courage.
  12. Dear TIF, Where would I find a good place to sell your used college textbooks? I've been to textbooks.com but they're not buying half of my books at the moment. Appreciate it.

Well if the future is already decided, there is no motivation to adhere to moral codes, no?

Ahh, Summer Vacation. Terrible wait, pays off quite nicely. But that's in the past for me.
  15. Yep. The moment my friends started to drive (eventually so did I) all hell broke loose to my weight. Socializing = eating around here. Plus no PE in my last two years of High School. Still, I didn't gain weight until the very last semester.
  16. What's the prison system then? Why don't jailers and wardens be put in jail for imprisoning others? Simply because they wear a badge? A badge given by them via a piece of paper and the vote of a select few not related to the victim or the crime? Because prisoners are convicted by a jury of their peers to be placed in jail and wardens are responsible for keeping them there. Our judicial system is based on the idea that crimes should be judged by a group of people unrelated, unlike in this case where this woman decided that the man's actions were worthy of a death penalty. Further I don't see how you can compare setting someone on fire (which could have injured others and caused property damage) with a legally approved warden keeping people in jail as the justice system intended. Firstly, I was trying to say (and I do apologize I didn't explain this) that judicial system stops somewhere. Let me explain: Rocco kidnaps a child. Rocco goes to jail because he took the liberty of a human being. Judge/Jury Giordano puts Rocco in jail. Giordano goes to jail because he took the liberty of a human being. Oh wait. That last part doesn't happen. Why? Because for justice to work, it must stop somewhere. The phrase "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." suggests punishment will continue without stops. If the state judicial system stops, why cant' eye for an eye stop? You see what I'm saying? Secondly, I understand how the judicial system works. I want to know why is it better. Simply saying "You're supposed to do it because the system works like this" is not explaining. You yourself said: Okay. So? Why is it better that way? Simply because it's law?
  17. But she already knows he doesn't like her. She already asked him out, he said no. That's a pretty damn clear indication that he has no romantic feelings for her. You learn "no is no" when you're two years old. I'll agree with you if RPG is deliberating leading her on, by never stating the fact they are in a mutual relationship for sex, but it didn't happen that way.
  18. What's the prison system then? Why don't jailers and wardens be put in jail for imprisoning others? Simply because they wear a badge? A badge given by them via a piece of paper and the vote of a select few not related to the victim or the crime? There's a reason why the concept of local government is popular: those living in them understand current problems better than a government thousands of miles away. The same idea applies here.
  19. I remember a time...where new maps came in these things called patches. Pretty damn useful, not only did it fix bugs but it added things to the game. Brilliant things. Too bad we got all these DLC things, riiiight?
  20. I'm well aware of the consequences of my potential actions. I accept this responsibility, and the inevitable [cabbage] storm that succeeds it. Wait, so you know you're going to be using her and hurting her, but you accept this responsability? Am I missing something? You're not missing anything, you're just not agreeing with it. RPG's girl knows he doesn't like her, she cannot expect anything new to come up. It's HER fault if she gets "hurt" in the future or creates drama. RPG's just taking advantage of what he's acquired; it's nothing to fuss over if you can deal with conflict.

Damn, if the dog's legs were better you could give her rodeo lessons.
  22. Alright, so what if the gas fire she lit burned the bar down and killed/injured some innocent people? Firstly, I was talking about the concept of her action not the action by itself. Secondly, it didn't. Now can we please refrain from asking "what-if" questions, because it's going to do nothing but ping-ponging back and forth. A better question you should of asked, is "What happens if someone pursues justice and damages an innocent in the process." That question talks about the concepts, still makes the point you were trying to make, and avoids "what-if" questions. My answer to that: She becomes the rapist. Any one of those at the bar or those who care are justified to bring her to justice. There's no point around her accidentally burning down the place because no laws could of prevented her from doing that. As I said in my first post, second point: she already ignored current murder laws so the freak accident was going to happen whether or not more laws against vigilantes were in place.
  23. Well for starters, Manifest Destiny was about corporate organizations grabbing Mexico's northern borders for business interests, not justice. Secondly, America does not have the Carpe Diem mentality. We WANT to have it (ask any WASP their virtues and 9 out of 10 they will say hard work somewhere) but fail to accomplish that ourselves. Not only is that part contradicting, but when somebody DOES do carpe diem we as a society punish that individual whether it be OP's example, popular kids in school, or religious beliefs.
  24. This site kills free markets. * Sarcasm by the way. Ah, anyone got Texan's Ten Gallon? Been waiting it for a while.
  25. Yes. But if I simply said "He deserved to die." I would have to explain myself later, and to a more hostile group as misunderstanding grows, tempers go off.
