  1. DDS poisons steels, from personal experience. Unless you meant miths not metal.
  2. I'm kind of so-so on this. There are enough smilies as I've said in a previous post about smiles, but then again a smiley contest is a very good Forum event, and would create community involvement which isn't bad as far as I know. But then again, adding one smiley wouldn't be too much. Though the admins/mods/super mods 8-) , have probably discussed this when they went and did the contest about captions. I'd love to see some of the creations the users make though. --- Some topics regarding smilies: http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=687311 http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=669197&start=0 this one here is also a contest one http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=496896&start=0 Might find something in there to help you with this...

Now that you mention it. They do seem better, but not a lot. Expected yes. I wonder what they shop for first, besides clothes. Or what strange thing occurs at the mall they are at. Anyone see any hints?
  4. lol. I obviously can't change your mind. Yes America has a lot of advantages, but they aren't unbeatable. There's many examples throughout history that show having the numbers doesn't mean a win. The story of David and Galieth(sp?) is a good metaphor to put here.
  5. I don't know, but America isn't unbeatable. U.S. isn't some country that can't be defeated, if you think that, your in the wrong reality.
  6. You need a reality check. You really think the US can be overpowered by China/Russia? Yes, and I never specified any country, you just assumed I did. -- Its called the noise from the humans themselves, they can be heard with sonar technology. And its been proven(discrediting this is very high, since I have no links). You keep going back to good terms, then relating it to start a war? That missile location is certainly enough to set the mood off. Not a war, but certainly set the moods off. Comical China alone invades the U.S. yes, but not so much Russia+China in a few years(10). No, I don't live in the U.S., but I certainly keep up with the so called war on terrorism. Bad insurgencies? Someones been listening to the media too much. I never went on about the patriotic art of American citizens. Yes, they would go buy guns, and defend themselves to death and beyond. If China were to invade, America would have 4-5 days to stock up, enough time to get the citizens ready to defend themselves, and probably long enough for allied countries to come in and help. I never really said America could be taken lightly, or at all, but I was going through one scenario which would be highly unlikely, and may, or may not work. Btw, I'm not some dope who knows nothing about Iraq 'groups', or terror 'groups'. We're debating an illogical war with current times. If this war would take place in 10-20 years, guns wouldn't be enough to stop invaders.
  7. You need a reality check. ---- My mistake meol for number 8, got carried away. Anyways, any of those could provoke war easily. How many wars/fights have begun by something less stupid?
  8. I was talking about (mainly) the one time when it went on for an extended amount of time Well that one, if I think of the one your talking about, started out with three people, and as soon as they got to 'god is fake', the spamming came, and 8 or 9 people were flaming each other...Thats what I mean by sensitive.
  9. Actually what Tripsis posted was suggested twice on pages 10+. [hide=Important Quotes From That Topic] [/hide] Basically, when Tripsis says the forum was ignored, the sith says the view count went from 3k to 80k. --- I don't think users would ignore the board. The forum wouldn't be flagged down by new replies, since only so many topics would be open for replies. When Tallest got promoted to Admin, and from there to the last unpinned topic, there's 11 topics, which are to now, from Dec 08 2006. So 8 months, 11 topics that could possibly be replied to. Its not that bad is it? Now if I were to count Tripsis promotion topic, its in Announcements, it would be 12. So, I really don't think opening some topics to congratulate users would be so bad. 11-12 topics spread over 8 months, possibly longer, seems fine. 12 topics aren't going to stop users from reading important topics in there, more likely it'll get them to read more of the topics. I don't see how congrat posts are going to drive away users? Unless they're against congrating users... EDIT: To pokemama posts: *Also look below to read Devoted's post about this* No, but I do think since its not posted on every single day with new topics, it'd be safe to assume, especially when you can see the username of the last person to post. So unless you ignore the username, and the knowledge of the average times between important topics posted in there, then yes it could be a problem. :-k I don't mean to sound mean.
  10. I counted 8 topics that could go in the gallery. There was also around 3-6(its hard to tell who would actually use the gallery), plus making a gallery area would spark up 2-3 threads. I counted until mid second page, post being aug 05th. Which doesn't really matter, since art takes time anyways, I'd assume each gallery would be updated every week or two. But to Ard's idea of asking the users in The Gallery about it, is probably the safest way to go, and should be done.
  11. But, they can be defeated by a not-so-country, or very early country in the making, twice, and be pushed back. So I wouldn't use never, then use it again in bolded. Yes we've gone a long way since then, and everything would probably be different variables, but history does prove things. We're(As in the U.S.-.-) friends with Russia and China? In case you didn't notice, Russians have made tons of protests against Americans(CNN, I"ll try and look for a website link...). The Chinese? I'm sorry but there's way to much of things there. I'm Canadian, and I know America and China, or Russia are not on good terms. I'd also like to mention, if they go to the bottom of the seabed, and were there for a year, they can be heard by new technology of Russia's, and I'm sure Russia would give China the tech to find subs. Also, besides the human element, subs bottom of the sea floor, are still vulnerable to natural variables, such as underground volcanoes, earthquakes, and strong under-water currents, which can exceed 1.3k mph. They would be found, or most of them, and if they slip through not hurt, they would eventually die, or be captured, with, or without a fight. If the Country fell, so would any connections, over due time.
  12. 700th topic. FTW This was brought up close to a year ago, or some time around there. I don't remember the thread, since I didn't post on it... Anyways, I think some topics should be allowed to be posted on, not all of them for some very easy reasons. Though, I don't know why topics about users/mods/global mods/super mods/admins/crews/other? get locked, and then their PM box gets spammed with very worthy Congrats. I can understand how new features would be debated about in Announcements, those types of topics are the ones which I'm talking about that should remained locked. But promoted users really can't grasp the importance, nor the feeling of being Congratulated by the Tip.It Forum Community if the main topic is locked. :-# But, WooHoo, cheers for Tripsis! Hip, Hip, Hooray! Hip, Hip, Hooray!! Hip, Hip, Hooray!!! And a great job you'll do, I'm sure. Best of luck. \ Party Time \
  13. RuneScape, and Tip.It both help you with Quests, I think spoiling a quest in a chat on purpose is not fine, but instructions on how to do the quest without giving story lines away is quite fine. I mean 60% of people are going to be going on the chat to ask for Quest Help, or some kind of advice. Skill help? Same with Quest Help, its RuneScape, if you join a FanSite Chat, expect to get help with skills, honestly, I find nothing wrong with people asking questions about skilling, or questing. Don't take that aspect of helpful information out. Or it'll turn into something very odd, and uncomfortable to be in.
  14. DOG, actually doesn't have a mullet, he has long hair all around, so long he has it whipped back. ^^ Mullets stink, a few years ago my school did three surveys, one of which was asking about mullets. 80-90ish percent(Don't remember exactly) of the school selected one of the three or four options. The option of course was 'they're ugly, and should never be acquired'. Though, just because a very large percent of people say they look bad, doesn't mean you shouldn't get one...even though the creator of this topic has already specified this is a joke.
  15. Um, didn't we invent nukes in the 60s-90s? Not the 20s? Or did you just not read the previous page, or meol's question? -- The UK would probably try and stay out of it as long as possible. But as soon as a nuke went up, every country that could, would get involved, and probably 8 massive armies would be warring. Eventually though, it'll boil down to two sides, who kill each other up, and then the cockroaches will mass-produce because of the dead bodies, and will become the dominant species.
  16. 31 frog tokens. 1.1k burnt sharks. Err, and all my randoms that I can't put in my costume room. -.-

Remembers the nine hours of standing...while shopping, with a female. Epsom Salt never felt so good on my feet. : Now that its mentioned, I wonder if the author(s) will take in that bit. Though its basically a male and female going shopping, so I don't know how bad it may or may not be.
  18. Oh, militech. :anxious: They'd attack 1. They dislike Americans. 2. Russia would gain more imports from China, and probably boost their markets. 3. Because they could without too much risk, yes major causalities, but its taking over a country? 4. Politics, and some of China's 'big world idea's' would become possible. 5. China could possibly get more land, and become less crowded. 6. Russia dislikes Americans. 7. China, and Russia may obtain new technologies. Those are the only ones that come to my mind. Some are probably flawed, and that I'm going to get quoted my butt off. ^^
  19. You don't need to raise the alarms to cause large amounts of damage. If you slowly erode something away, it'll be gone, and I doubt it'll come back>.>. Your talking about an infantry of a thousand or so troops, with vehicles. I think its quite possible to dissemble, and move in small numbers that you wouldn't be noticed. --- Meol, if we had the same technology as back then, our resources would already be depleted, or very close. That would probably start WWIII. Take out everything we have now, that wasn't available back then, and then stretch out from the 1920s-1930s to now with the same tech stuff, and do you honestly think we'd have enough food to sustain the population? How many times did the human population double from 1920, to now, 2007-08? WE had 1billion people at 1900 or something, we have 7billion now? Resources>depletion>war.
  20. Also, could you post the entire material you updated/added? Be very kind, and helpful devoted. Been waiting for you to post for some time now... -.-

omigod emily! let's buy some shoes! [/stupidity] Yeah, it should be good stuff. Actually they're buying school supplies... -.-

Err, that should be a happy one, not a sad one, remember what happened the last time they went shopping? (the jokes in it, not the almost nudity).
  23. I don't normally look at someones name, and unless its there in my face, but I'll try my best (To reduce loading time/scrolling, I'll take out questions I can't answer): 1. Most likely to find the cure for cancer - Trapical, duh? 2. Most likely to take over the world - Darkrick 3. Most likely to get in trouble with the law - didn't hellz already do this-.- 5. Most likely to become a psychologist - Err, its tough but I don't know how many of you could ask 'And how do you feel about that'? 7. Most likely to become a doctor - Trapical 8. Most likely to become a lawyer - Merci... 10. Most likely to become a couple (name both) Don't know if I'm allowed to put two males together?(Bubsa, and Nadril) 11. Most likely to get involved in a "refresh-post-refresh-post" debate for an hour - easily Satenza 12. Most likely to be found browsing the forums at any given time - Most of the OT Regs. 14. Most creative/artistic - LP 15. Most helpful/nice - Everyone<3 16. Most funny - Bubsa 17. Most weird - Bubsa 18. Most objective/level-headed - A lot of OTers are even there... 20. Biggest clown - Bubsa
  24. If you spread them across the time period I specified, and its done by different countries, and if the disease, or pollutions aren't that serious, but cause minimal effect, so they don't raise too much alarm. Right people(Russia, and China), right time(who knows if things go very wrong with the market right now, and add in any variable that may happen in 1-30 years). What part would raise alarm? The implementing of Russian troops? If done correctly, I don't think so. The raid on U.S. would happen after and I don't expect it to nto raise alarm. If everything is spread evenly, and done with some skill, it could happen, also if China, and Russia were to share some of the tactics, it may just work... Highly unlikely yes, but if you hate the U.S. and your pushed by people in your government...
  25. [hide=pokes quotes] Unlocking the Abyss and Mogres would also fall into this category. So while I was pondering about it, I wondered if we could put some skill-related guides on the skills page (but in a separate block section, further down) to make them a bit more logical and in some cases easier to reach (rather than opening the main guide, such as cooking and construction). SKILL-RELATED (add to Skills Page) The remaining guides after these movements would be: GENERAL The Mini quests would appear in a separate block located below these remaining MINIGAMES Since you're only gonna use the mini quest guides once, the scrolling down on the mini games page shouldn't matter much. Fire away, but please be gentle? Thanks. [/hide] The way in which you define a Mini-quest is not the way many users would define it as, thus basing the entire thing on that opinion is rather incorrect. But I do agree some of those mini-quests should go under the Mini-Games section. I do agree to the mini-quests and mini-game thing, if there is some way better then to add another table of blocks underneath the first table of blocks. It would probably look very messy. =/
