No real defence needed there, and as they drop more than enough defence potions and lobsters, using proselyte is propably the best there. If you are using extremes/rapier/turm you get around 4 special attacks from them for the whole task. Don't forget antipoisons.

Rooms with reqs that can't be potted to access is the whole point of it. That's why you have to have a nice skill total to have an edge in dungeoneering. When i trained dungeoneering on a pure with 1 rc i got alot of ~60 rc req doors. Opening all doors isn't the point in the dungeon, killing the boss is.

Remember that it's just not turmoil but soul split aswell. Definitely worth getting.

Well this isn't too horrible compared to some other things they have done over the years... Some people maxed out before slayer, some people got 99 slayer befoee summoning, it's just the nature of how this game is run.. 40k slayer xp separatating my second and third drop, and yet again, from dark beasts. I have a feeling that the second drop was long, long overdue lol.

Junk trading really doesn't work like that unless you have partyhats to dump useless junk you have been raising the price of for weeks(stuff like mith boots). Since onyxes don't have too much street value you could trade it for a more condensed street price item, or trade it for a larger sum of items max on ge.

Whatever the droprate at corp is, it will not be a good place to specifically get them as you can only manage a few kills in the time you would kill hundreds of semi-high level monsters, just like you wouldn't go kill kree arra for left halves. I finally managed to get another effigie, 2 of them inside 900k slayer xp now, but i've most likely just gotten very unlucky(looking at how many some other people have managed to get). As a modest guess, i'd say that armored zombies/black demons/dark beasts/abyssal demons could be the best monsters to specifically camp for effigies.

Really helpful post to anyone not reading this thread... The items are put on ge at med price, but will always sell for higher if there is a higher offer in at the time.

I think it should be noted that all the figures posted on this thread assume cannoning everything minutely cannonable and are a maximum, real figures are bound to be a bit lower with even the best equipment(and the figures suggest ovl/turm/rapier). For me, since i'm already 99 slayer and don't like cannoning most tasks, i have blocked things like bloodvelds and black deamons that can be fast with a cannon. I wouldn't suggest blocking blue dragons- they are an easy task at kurdal dungeon if you don't pick up bones and with a yak the banking can be done with minimal timeloss, neither would i ever block hellhounds thanks to the kurdal dungeon. But most of all when determining your block list you should try the tasks- even if the task yields good xp it might be very boring for you to do thus slowing you down, or if a task is a bit slower but you like it then you really shouldn't be blocking it.

All effigies are equal and change the skill reqs randomly, so you can't camp a certain effigie. The one adventures log on this thread really bewilders me, because having got 500k+ slayer xp at monsters that have been confirmed to drop them, i have yet to get a second one. Certainly not a training method at this rate.

I don't think increasing the cap is really a solution, since it would make buying xp way too easy. Perhaps with the effigies a solution could be letting people use your skills after you have gained the 30k or only giving 10% of the xp you would normally get after you have reached the 30k limit.

Would just like to note that I really wouldn't recommend buying the ability to be assigned Aquanites, as they're probably one of the lowest grossing slayer xp per hour in the game not to mention having mediocre drops coupled with bad charm drops. Of course this is going under the assumption that OP is using Kuradal, which most likely is the case. Maybe with a whip, but the OP has a rapier = good task with good drops(very much like gargoyles).

Well there aren't surely common, since the first drop which i got after a few dark beast kills i have now gained ~350k slayer xp without any more, so it really isn't a training method while getting combat up. Also i'm thinking jagex added these as drops to most slayer monsters but kept out monsters that would nornally be camped for melee xp.

You really need ss/turm for real speed slaying, and would use proselyte for most tasks praying berserker and turmoil(up to dark beasts). For dragons, praying melee and super antifires is easier, but can be done with bandos and ss. Karils is needed for aquanites and waterfiends. Slower tasks worth blocking are black dragons, wyverns, suqahs and kalphites because of slow spawn. Ofcource the block list depends largely on your prefrance of tasks and how much you like to cannon.

It's not only high levels crashing low levels, i have had twice now in a days time of being crashed by a clearly inferior 138 at nech/fire giants. I really can't understand a guy with yak/whip crashing me with rapier/steel titan. Since they are clearly losing the battle of dps they are the ones losing out on most of the xp, while i can sometimes get even better xp.

If I assumed EVERY 138 was that, I'd be missing about 1/4 of my friends list. Get off your high horse, Im merely annoyed because Castle Wars is a CTF based game, not TDM which Jagex seem to have forgot, thus there was no skill involved with the actual Mini-Game, it was just a case of who kills who. You could have ranted about that anywhere but here, but i just don't see how the winner is responsible for the competition being set up as it was. Anyway, it is for jagex to decide how they arrange their ''bonus'' games, and the fact that it was kills inside cw doesn't change much. Being arrogant doesn't help your cause, and it's jagex you should argue with(argue, since there is no reason to be annoyed, it is, after all, a bonus, be happy with what you have).

The way squisher wrote it, it clearly assumes that the guy who won cheated(or that the legitimasy is in question) in some way. Remove the legit and he could be saying what you read out of it. Because i'm 138 i can jump on someones throat? As dark aura assumes every 138 is a [rooster], why not? OMG, effigies, related to dragonkin, related to dragons, green dragons near water = SAILING!!! You are reading way too much into some updates. I doubt it's in jagexes intrest chaining everything about the game. The effigies might be good buyable xp assuming you don't waste time locating the person. The max amount of experiance in time an effigie can give is 30 minutes assuming you already have 97 rc...

The problem witb lending your skills is the 30k xp limit, even if the guy needs assist for all 4 stages(90k) you get 15k from first 15k from second stage. Surely not worth a major lend, and it's more worthwhile for the guy who owns the effigies.

Dark beasts can be confirmed to drop them... Just got one, starved. Recieved: 15k farming xp 20k woodcut 25k craft xp 30k herblore xp after that it desintegrated into a dragonkin lamp, which was like a genie lamp, giving me 32603 rc xp(87 rc).

I don't think ''GOOD CLAN'' and ''72 combat'' really go together. I doubt you really need a clan at that level either.... Most sc clans specialize in PKing and you can't do that.

It's a nice idea but they probably did this to get extra memberships to promote new content, and also they don't want to encourage people to play all day. There would be less skill involved in that than anything that could conceivably have to do with castle wars. 'how long can you run back and forth at zmi without going insane' Also i don't see how it would be better, as phoenix odin would surely win the competition, and anyone <99 rc wouldn't stand a chance.

Theres no guarantee the maul will be significanly better than zs/ss there because of the speed... I'm not really sure getting the maul for an insignifican't boost at wf's is worth not having a rapier, which is useful for everything. I'm most likely getting the maul as soon as i can just for waterfiends(because i'd be able to afford both).
