  1. I just tried it. With ardy cape and normal berserker ring( 142 stab 134 str) i gained 139488 experience in 57 minutes, assuming 6,33(4+1,33+1) xp per hit that's 23k slayer/ 92,7k attack xp an hour. Not sure on how this compares but i think zs/ss beat it by not alot. This was done in the ancient caverns(so no steel titans or any other familiars) using overload and turmoil. If anyone has some stats of how this would compare to a similar setting with the other weapons i'd be very interested. Edit: Just finished the last little bit of the task with zs and soul wars cape, otherwise same setup( 87 crush 103 str) and over a 7 minute period(very small timeframe) got 167k overall xp an hour, which is 114% better than what i got with rapier, so overall, if you really can't afford zs/ss(which is almost impossible assuming you have cr), the rapier is a useable option there if you can afford the bonuses.
  2. It's a very common item really...also i wouldn't say that prom spear is clearly better than it, as there are loads of situations in which it's much better.
  3. Magic's are really the only logs worth it with brawlers since they degrade per use(around 1275 logs) not per xp. Also, overall, it's around 1,1 gp per xp and you'll recieve the ~1,6m xp in 1,5 hour time, which is very cheap and fast.
  4. If you'd have slayed for the whole time from getting 80 dung right after update with a rapier vs whip you'd propably have gotten the rapier for free from the time you've saved. Also, getting tokens will get much easier after B2 so the tokens you save will inflate over time. The only really interesting award that i can see being released with B2 is a chaotic spear, efficently a vesta spear without the spec which will be the best weapon for corp/waterfiends, but not as good overall as rapier.
  5. Well it really depends on if you'd use any of the rewards you are to buy in the next 4 to 7 months time. For me, since i use a rapier and scroll of life very commonly, they are well worth it. Also you can stack up on tokens after you already have bought some of the rewards.

  7. I havn't tested this as i've only had one waterfiend tasks as of yet while having a rapier, and i just assumed it'd be rubbish there. If i happen to get a task any time soon i'd be happy to test this out, but i wouldn't get my hopes up for it as even gs-es are much worse on slash vs crush(132 slash vs 80 crush).
  8. At the start of farming when the whole system wasn't in place yet yields of <3 herbs and >>50 herbs yet were possible. I remember getting around 160 ranarr from a herb patch in catherby. Nowadays it's more fixed and the max(which is very rare) is around 25 and min 5, accounting for deaths and having the scroll of life yields about 8-8.3 torstol(no real reaso to farm anything else....) per SEED(not patch).
  9. A 99 skill is money in the bank. We don't want our money to be inflated, thus we don't want our skills to be inflated... unless ofcource you want to give me all your money, this has nothing to do with snobbery.
  10. Did you use defender? With bandos I can easily tank miths by switching between prot mage and ss. I can even solo KBD with just ss...so you're doing something wrong... edit: no def pots used Rune defender yeah. I just used purely soul split though, no switching to protect. I did only one dragon, so maybe I was unlucky... Also, for whoever is interested: Just did a few duels with someone with CLS (I have rapier). I am maxed melee, he was 99 str, 96 att, 92 def. We duelled with bandos tassets + chest, everything else off. No prayer and no food either. The outcome was 11 - 7 for the guy with the CLS. At first it went very even, until 7 - 6, then he kept winning until 11 - 6. To be honest, those duels only confirm how good cr is not how good the cls is... The setting you used is the worst case cenario a cr can be in comparison to cls(high def, no accuracy boosting items) and it still came out that well... Do remember thet every accuresy/strength boost is used much better on a faster, inferior(by percentages) weapon. I'd predict a 10-7 outcome on maxed/no pots/pray with bandos/def/fury/fire(ardy for cr) cape etc and even better if pots/pray allowed.
  11. Well i guess then jagex is just really bad at showing off the usefulness of the rewards...+10 ranged(which is quite abit) on the cbow, +1 mage attack +5% magic damge on the staff don't seem too bad, both, and all chaotic are best for their relative combat skills.
  12. It's worse for all Kurdal dungeon monsters apart from irons and steels, otherwise better for aquanites, mithril dragons, black dragons, same or a bit worse for everything else. Assuming etremes/turmoil(piety). Overall(as most of the tasks it is better for are rare/blocked) it isn't worth it for slayer(unless you use it for the specific tasks). Rapier is better than cls for slayer except for mithril dragons. Chaotic Staff does in fact give +20% magic damage, though. Really? any proof of that or you are just .....

It doesn't matter how good you are at dungeoneering, because there is no stat for that, but the teams can look at how much time you've spent training the skill which mostly goes to show how well you can cope with it all, so really, asking for 90+ is totally fine by me. Teaching to rush? i do hope that was a joke, because people are there to train the skill as fast as they can and not to spend their time on newbs, if you know how to read there are more than enough guides to go around. As for high skills, unless you are maxed in all but dungeoneering your skills suck there...(only one tool guy needed)
  14. It's never actually been 50% even if that's been stated by jagex, and always been around 40%. Also the effect has always been like that of divine/ely in which the damage is reduced accordingly but accuracy remaining the same.

    For pure moeny with no return, super defences seem the best(not too sure about this). If you want to make useful potions most of the untradeable ones are 30 gp each if made from scratch. It's also more useful to do it this way because you will need overloads/extremes/antifires/sup prayers/rest attack later on. At 30 gp/xp you should almost get the desired level.
  16. Alot of RS players have a thing called a life. Oh sorry, getting maxed melee/herblore in 7 years is so hard... The xp now is 10 times of what i used to get while i got 85's in melee, 5 times that of what i got getting 95's in melee, 3 times that of what i used to get getting 99's in melee. Maxing out these stats nowadays is MORE than easy. Unless ofcource you suck enough..... After pc, melee is worthless.
  17. Completely untrue. Give someone like ME a CLS vs Rapier, and I'd find rapier more useful. One thing most of these debates neglect is how useful the boosted accuracy is to people without overloads/extremes, maxed combat, and turmoil. I didn't put in piety because it's not that high leveled/I have it. I somehow doubt that if I tried both at Bandos GW, I'd find the Rapier the better choice. So you are saying that cls is better than rapier if you suck enough? Not the greatest advertisement for anyone to buy it, to be honest. And even by that logic, you will at some point suck little enough for rapier to be better and from then on, you've wasted 200k tokens. Also, as for most people the repair cost seems quite spicy(not that it is), most of the people who will be using these will not suck hard enough for cls to be better... So as a status report on this thread, can anyone think of places where the cls has a clear advantage over the rapier? because the opposite is true for a load of things. Only thing i can realistically think of is mithril dragons, as their defence is still a bit brisk(though i havn't tried with sup antifire yet).

    No. He runs at you wearing void range, shoots you a few times, and as quick as a blink specs with dclaws with no time to react and little delay before second spec. I only realize it when I see 4 hit splats. And then I eat like two or three bandages, and then get killed. I know how to hybrid tank. I'm not [developmentally delayed]. So yeah, your instincts of the game and stats .... Why not FoG in f2p+?
  19. I think you've misunderstood something, rapier is the weapon for everything, longsword against high defence, maul for ko. For pking, as i've been pking with a rapier for 2 days now.... few people dare fight a rapier and it's atleast as good as ags but you'll be getting alot of kills where you die at the same time(7 for me now). I'm 3-1 against cls now(but it's not nearly enough of a sample size).
  20. Maybe you're point is valid in terms of deep wildy pvp where its good for using you're opponents food because they can't really run to safety. But In normal fights rapier just doesn't have the KOing ability like the CLS and CM. You wan't them to die, not keep eating and run/tele because they're nearly out of food. It has more than enough ko ability if both players are using vengance... since both players will be using a load of food the hits you save vs gs/cls/maul is very significant.
  21. I really don't see where you'd see all that hate for rapier- i've used it alot and most have understood the rapiers supeiorness. There are still some who care to disagree in pvp, but after they see a fight, it's more than settled. People eat to more than 70 vs rapier, about the same as they would against a godsword....
  22. You should try slaying with rapier/overload/turmoil, surely that will show how long picking up stuff takes(while you 2 hit everything).

  24. Well it's never really been any sort of a great moneymaker since rsc, and it wasn't good even in the late days at that. Atm though, farming still can be a very proftable skill, with 250-300k profit from a 6 minute herb run, though it's very limited. Also, as far as i've come to see in the last years, pvm is a terrible moneymaker aswell(having got a divine drop) and merchanting beats it in any way possible.
  25. we if all skills were raised to 120 i could see a lot of people really angry about that. Another thing, combat would be messed up so bad. lvl 120 skills + potions = hit hell of a lot higher then 1200 HP. This would break pvp entirely this makes no sence because hp would be updated evenly with str you say at 120 str youd be able to hit above 1200? this means yout also saying at 99 str your able to hit above 990, which is only true with dharok at 1 hp i dont like how people say "yea but at 120 str youd hit like 2x higher'" this is horrably incorrect 1. you would hit 20% higher 2. max hp would be 120 3. constitution pots will be released soon 3. you would brew to 1400 4. at 120 str max in pvp would say....a cls or ags normal hit woudl be about 700-800 5. only 71 people have 120 str and of those 71 probably half haf quit and half of that half dont even pk, most are the top slayers/boss hunters realisticly there would be a few guys running around with like 30m str xp about 108 str being able to hit 9% higher on guys who have 110 hp people say its unfair but it makes no sence? thats like sayin the current system is unfair and you can just walk up and 1 hit people because you cant you would hit 20% higher and have 20% more hp, and thats if your one of the few dozen to have those stats, it would be the same balance as there is already....train a skill 10% mroe than what you already have and in return you hit 1% higher, you also have 1% more hp by the end of this it would be compleley balanced (also ive got like 103 summon banked so ive always wanted a rune titan) You surely have no idea how this game goes around...there is so much wrong with your logic that it's killing me, starting with how percentages stack.
