mage slaying
I wouldn't bother unless you really have to. Reason? for ice strykewyrms, for which fire surge has 2x damage, the slayer xp you get hourly is as near as makes no differance the same as you would get while slaying with a chaotic rapier(both are around 40k slayer xp an hour), so for any other task the xp you'd get, assuming you don't safespot(since it would slow you down even more) you get around 2x less slayer xp for most tasks except for perhaps iron, steel and mithril dragons. This is assuming maxed bonuses fo both of these classes(ovl/turm/cr vs. ASN/SOL/ovl/def mage). And i'm not even going into the discussion of cost....uhh.

Dragon Halberd
If you can afford dragon claws, they are much better for anything(but for corp perhaps), being faster and much more accurete, with double hit not depending on the monster size. Also if you can get a rapier, the dps of the spec would actually slow you down.

If no one complains about it, please don't 'fix' it
Well ok, the supply of coins is HIGHER, The demand for COINS is lower, and the amount of items you can buy for those coins can now buy is LOWER. All in all, saying all this is about the same as saying that coins are now worth less, just without the hassle of writing 3 seperate sentances. Thus your nitpicking here is just pointless, and the over-educated approach(at least for what concerns rs economy) is stupid here. If coins were worth less, you'd be able to buy less with them, if there was a new large supply of coins into the game you'd also be able to buy less with your coins, so for this example, they both mean the same thing for everyone, since rs gold actually can't ever be devalued in the sence real world currency is.

Rock climbing boots affecting RuneScape
I'd actually disagree with what you said about the start if farming. The reason i was so successful at the start just could have been figuring those little details out on my own, everyone else just complained and sat at the patches. When i just reacently started farming again(for herbs) i was doing things just like i used to and only found out the benefits of the tool leperchaun later(since i already had 99 before their release). As a whole, farming now is very much alike the farming that was almost 5 years ago with the exeption of the knowledge we now posess.

Rock climbing boots affecting RuneScape
Please don't explain my points to me, grasshopper. You didn't grasp them. The point is that if they had listened to the voice of the playerbase, Farming have been pulled out of the game or left to wither & die. Thankfully, they didn't cave in to the farm mockers & the rest is history. Despite the overwhelming negative opinion of the players, it survived and thrived. And the game is better for it. The moral of the story is - the playerbase has the collective IQ of a cantaloupe and is not nearly as qualified to direct the future of the game as it believes it is. Farming has turned out to be one of the more successful facets of the game in recent memory. Try again? Am i dumb or are there 3x more lines i should read into the words i and you wrote? farming poll, anyone, does not transfer to: ''i hate farming and they should have deleted the skill after the poll results'' while farming became successful(which has nothing to do with my point) does not transfer to the fact that jagex did right in not deleting it, as it was never an option. I fully understand what you were trying to say and i fully agree with you, BUT, it has NOTHING to do with the point i was trying to make, thus why i said you shouldn't jump to conclusions on what i was trying to say. The problem was making the poll in the first place(while everyone and their dog knew the results would be terrible), and then removing it because of those terrible results with little explenation. If that doesn't show how out of touch they were with the community and their inability to admit to mistakes then sorry, i must be wrong.

The farming poll results were more correctly a reflection of the maturity level of the playerbase than any shortcomings of the update itself. And that's my point, would you PLEASE READ and save the attitude for the riots & YouTube propaganda shorts. Did i ever say that the farming poll results showed anything at all? Your point was that farming is actually a very good skill, and i'd never even said that it wasn't. The MISTAKE jagex made was making the poll in the first place, and then being childish enough to remove it 4 hours into it with no explenation, which shows how out of touch they are with the player base and how rude they can be. The results of the poll are completely IRRELEVANT in this discussion, rather their reaction to them and the fact that they made such poll in the first place. Omali, don't act as a child. You two have read way too much into the few words i've explained about the poll and made the rest up(that farming is bad, that the poll results were important, that they should do more of these polls etc). I might aswell read from your post that you love mod mark, but if you didn't write that, i can't tease you for it, unless i can't read, ofcource.

arcane neckless question
It all stacks. As far as i can tell, without the chaotic staff the max on ice strykewyrms is 1106.

Rock climbing boots affecting RuneScape
Farming has turned out to be one of the more successful facets of the game in recent memory. Try again? Funny how in a game filled with magic, cryptobiology & supernaturalism - we expect the economy to be rigidly real-world. My only issue with the recent events is the alleged leaking of the update by Jagex staff. Favoritism is a big no-no in my book and for Jagex to apparently shrug it off speaks poorly of the company, IMO. Would you learn to read, PLEASE. I said that the farming poll saga is a prime example of how out of touch jagex was with it's customers back then, and their inability to lose in certain situations. For anyone who doesn't know the story... Jagex released a poll about what people thought about farming as a skill just days after release, and after the poll results showed terrible dislike for the skill, they removed it 4 hours into the poll release, with not much explenation. Since then jagex has not made a poll about anything important. It's unfortuanate that a big game companly would act as such a child, but the reacent update is much worse. It's just funny to see how far mod mark would go to cover all their asses, and not ''bring pressure'' to their ranks. I mean, obviously there was something fishy about this update or it was just not thought about well enough, and there has been a load of conformations about this update having been leaked, so, what should you do? Turtle up? #-o For the people still discussing how the actual new money will affect the economy, in the long run, everyone who had coins in their bank lost around 3-7% of their coinpile, but what screws more people over is the panic buyout that we are just seeing. Even if the added money was a bucket of sand in beach, we are already living in a sandmine, so adding to the already huge inflation was a terrible idea. No, i don't think this update will affect us all in the future as far as the economy is concerned, though it will allow rich to yet again get richer, but i do think this will work bad for jagex'es reputation.

Seriously, Jagex?
How are jagex supposed to distinguish between the real owner and the thief if they both posess the same account details? He clearly messed up. Oh, and mister ''jagex stole my account'', did the toothfairy drop the keylogger on your computer? YOU are responsible for your computer security and thus account security, if your password had been changed, the last thing you should have directly done is try to recover the account ON THE SAME COMPUTER. For all i see, jagex has done everything by the book. Also, please do tell me that the PI guy is just trolling, because that really would be funnier than the reacent climbing boots update. If you or anyone else was seriously looking to recover an account they wouldn't post it on a major fansite RANTS forum.

What to do...?
That, my friend, is a matter of opinion. ;) I personally find both SGS and whip+dfs quite effective in slayer, especially for those tasks that a little defence is required. The SGS isn't called the slayer's gs for nothing. :P Of course whip + defender is most effective also - as said, it is a matter of preference, and can depend on the tasks. As far as advice goes, the cheaper solution would be whip + defender. As stated any of the mentioned combinations would be preferred over having dragon claws for slayer (unless you only use them to spec, in which case you could keep them). Perhaps you'd like to try it out and see which works best for you as this obviously differs per person. :P For herblore and additional money farming will definetly work well for you, of that I think most people will agree on that one at least, as it is quick coins. Wll to be honest, it's the slayers godsword just until the moment you reach 68-88 summoning/92 prayer, at which point it becomes the s... godsword. Dfs is only really useful for wyverns when you are doing slayer, since the added defence is much less nessesary than the added offencive bonuses by defender where you would need it(blues, irons, steels, miths). HOWEVER, i don't agree that claws are overrated, even if you have all the offencive bonuses and a chaoic rapier, which i do. Assuming you bring along some spec att restores they can speed up your slayer task by around 5%(which is alot already considering ovls/turm/max offencive).

magzar, you are only touching the tip of the iceberg here, as most who justify this update, let me get you up to speed... This update has been confirmed to be leaked, which as even mod mark himself said, is pitiful. This update has/will cause unwanted chaos in the market which adds to the loss of money for most regular players. This update yet again shows jagex can, and never will admit to their mistakes(farming poll, anyone?). This update shows that jagex will not apologise to their customers if they do something wrong. This update shows jagex'es incapability to be customer friendly. This update shows jagex'es complete lack of knowledge about the game(or at least the lead designers). and i could go on... And well, mod mark running away? guess what? YOU SCREWED UP, ADMIT IT, APOLOGIZE. That's what a deacent lead designer would have done 30 minutes after the update, after spending the last 30 minutes looking for how to make it right. Running away makes this even worse.

Seriously, Jagex?
Do you really not see any fault in yourself? I mean, in 5 years jagex brainwashing people about accound security you should have learned at least something. Firstly, it's your fault you got keylogged. It's your fault you didn't understand it soon enough and logged into places where you shouldn't have had in that situation. And, after that, you made the killer mistake- you gave the person trying to steal the account away by cluelessly handling your most precsious knowledge. I don't know if thee is much for you to do now than just make a new account. Also i've herd sleeping with jagex employees grants you special favours(which is actually true, except for the sleeping part, because cloce friends of Paul/Andrew are always able to recover their account with little trouble, which i know for a fact). With all these rants about how stupid jagex is, this is certainly not their fault.

Melee Camping
If you can use extremes/turmoil and have a chaotic rapier, abyssal demons might come into play as the best campable monsters. Sure, the xp is somewhat lower(160k on a slayer task, around 130k an hour perhaps while camping), but the drops make it well worth it(charms, money). Other than that, armored zombies if you really, really hate doing slayer.

The Fastest XP Possible?
zombies. And looting jars is what takes the lion share of time for this method. He even ran back to the bank in this vid....

lost my cls
That could be anything from 5-7 months wait  they'd propably rather release it with the dung tweaks, if at all.

Help With TzTokJad
It's really hard to suggest anything if we don't know your stats, thus can't decide whether to bring CR, overloads, super prayers and use soul split or just to safespot everything with broad bolts? Stats make all the differance.

Rock climbing boots affecting RuneScape
I think I could care less if someone else gang ***** and knife shanked me IRL because everyone dies in the end so in life it really doesn't matter what you do all things pass wow, ridiculous parallel is ridiculous very minor shift to rs balance of wealth is as great a concern to you as getting gangbanged and shanked irl? priorities wow, redundant redundancy is redundant very major shift to rs balance of wealth and Jamflex betraying the trust of their players is as great a concern to me as something that "doesnt really matter" and lol, when I read the word "priorities" I thought of Quick Attack. too much Pokemon for me tbh sexual abuse and murder are serious issues, so please dont make light of them m8 lol pokemon Unfair favouritism, betrayal of trust, blatant lies, and hypocrisy are pretty serious too scapes hella fun, but not to be taken too seriously bro honestly, when it all boils down to a 'minor' [ok, debatable? but for my own gameplay, at the least] change on my online fantasy game, i dont consider those things 'serious' if you do, then you do i dont ;) I'm not too sure about this, but decent game design companies have contracts which proctect the companies assets in case there is a breach like this and would propably end in minor jail time/ a nice fine. So to be honest, both of these things are illeagal, it's just a how seriously someone takes them. The fact that you don't care about the product you buy just shows how stupid you are.

Rock climbing boots affecting RuneScape
And so it begins... yep, now you've got to grind even harder to get your ridiculously overpriced luxury item, or play the ge, or jsut luck luck out on a drop like most people if you obtain your wealth by sheer grinding then you're doingitwrong, if you get rich from the ge or killing bosses/slayer then everything will slot itself into place for you whats the big deal So if you make your money by using insider knowledge given by a jagex employee, you are the real deal?

Waterfiends
they can be safespotted at mithril dungeon although it's much slower in that case.
-
Best way to make money
merchanting used to be the best until sleeping with jagex employees turned out to be much more profitable.

Dragon Defender confirmed.
Well i really like combat, but really dislike MA, but i'm still propably going to get the rings somewhere down the road. The reward should equal the work dont to gain it. Though thinking back, a dungeon of 90 dungeoneering requirement to enter that concludes with a boss cyclops(level 200-300). This would make dungeoneering moe rewarding and feel less like a minigame, while keeping a powerful and well sought after item rare enough.

Farming Helps?
Well, judging from the fact that someone on the herb run thread was really happy about 40 ranarr yield from 5 patches and that my max has been 56 torstol over a 500 seed period, i'd say that is the case. The increased yield isn't very big, but it certainly seems to be true.

If no one complains about it, please don't 'fix' it
So you never use the G/E or trade with other players or anything like that? If you're a real D.I.Y. player, then respect. You just hit the nail in the head. Except I sell almost evrything. If you had coins then it did affect you, because they are now worth less.

Dragon Defender confirmed.
Uhhh. Sarcasm? Can't tell. 500k would be awful. Dung reward would be awful. [cabbage]. That skill is just so BAD. I was willing to wait until about now for Dungeoneering. Why release it 3 months early? I mean solo logouts should be [] 1 Mobilising armies is bad, but people still do it for similar bonuses. I just wouldn't want it to be too common and it would be fitting to release such a highly sought after item with the only endgame skill yet to be released. Dragon defender has to compete with DFS, DSS and ESS, so such a high cost wouldn't be anything groundbreaking for an infinite stock(ability to kill monsters for them). For everyone saying dragon def+ whip would be powerful: CR+rune def would still have ~ +3 accuracy and +17 strength over that combo, so it'd be nothing groundbreaking. CR+ dragon defender on the other hand...
