  1. You do know people have been able to use and test the weapon types since december 2003? And as there havn't been to many additions to the f2p combat equipment(rune gloves, berserker shield, if you can bother with them) wouldn't it make sense for millions of people who use scimitars to actually be correct by their own testing? Also, gr > rune scimitar.
  2. What exactly is so wrong with LeBrons desicion? Should he have stayed in Cleavland, a city often noted for it's tragic sports record and horrible economic climate with a team that would win 20 games without him, or play with his 2 best friends for a franchise of sunshine and no tax while destroying teams even without a supporting cast? He sacrificed his ego and a boatload of money, while knowing the fans would hate him to arrive at the only port that matters for him- an NBA championship. Having already given everything he could for 7 years without so much as a whiff of thanks, I think he made the right desicion. OT: Oh... it's great to finnaly get conformation about the leak, although i've ben told about it all along by a bunch of PMods.
  3. xpx replied to ghjkl's topic in Rants
I think most people don't even understand what the rant is about- rushing is the most efficient and most widely accepted way to train dungeoneering and it is a totally fine tactic by anyones standard, but the problem is that it is bugged- You should be able to see every moster but on some occasions they will be hidden completely because of having too many active monsters still alive. Wheater rushing is good or bad, was it meant to be done like that or not(and i'm guessing it was meant to be used judging by the shadow silk hood) there is a huge bug in the game, which is very inconvenient.
  4. Actually, blocking the 5 slowest tasks IS inefficient because you have to include the human element. Slayer xp an hour isn't actually the only assessable feature to to describe a slayer task- there are likenesses and considerations of money and other things to take into consideration when deciding what is the most efficient for you to block or not. Like for instase, if you only like doing very few tasks it would make sense to block tasks that are given frequently and cancel those rare tasks you get, or if you want to make as much money as you can slaying(which can still be efficient) you'd base your block list upon that. I for instance, slay for effigies, so it made sense to reconsider my block list to kill the largest amount of higher level mosters i can because that rewards me with more of what i'm after. For a bit of information, the zarfots list you are talking about is completely outdated and the hirarchy would get messed around considerbly when you factor in overloads, rapier, curses, kurdal and so forth. The one thing you might also forget about slayer tasks is the amount you get- which is better, 240 greaters or 80 tzhaar? tzhaar are 1k slayer xp an hour faster. Also i understand about you making points about slaying specifically for points, but really, as of the time the point system was introduced, i havn't heard of many people bothering to even think about that, since the points really aren't worth the loss of xp. It would only take around 3-5 days of normal kurdal slaying to get most of the stuff mentioned on this thread, and in that time, i doubt many people would even realise the tasks that would be efficient for the to block. Using points on runes loses money because(assuming you are higher level slayer) you'd make much more money doing full days of ice wyrms/abyssal demons while getting better than average slayer xp at the same time.
  5. zaap, i can guarentee that 99% of the people don't have the 5 slowest tasks blocked, as we can all see the top efficency guys doing mithril dragons, which are clearly the slowest task there is, so blocking 5 slowest tasks is not only inefficent but often something that would be extremely hard to determine(for the record, looking at the zarfot's guide slayer xp rates, none of them even remotely implies to me anymore). Also i don't really see the point in slaying specifically for points as it's not really the point of slaying. Most of the abilities afforded by the points don't significally change the way you would normally slay, and using the points on runes slows down slayer xp and likely loses you money in terms of having more of the tasks that earn more money.
  6.
  7. Zaap, i don't really understand your strong positions on a number of things that aren't commonly accepted or usually the best at all. Firstly, slayer rings aren't that useful, but it's not as though they cost anything either, so it's surely worth it to buy the ability. I use my slayer rings only to acces slayer caves, ice strykewyrms, terror dogs and specters, which is only 4 tasks, 3 if you don't like aquanites- which actually aren't that terible at all if you use range/stab weapon(like zs or cr) with quite a nice droplist. Blocking tasks isn't always the first thing you should do as it takes quite some time figuring out the tasks that you don't like(as i doubt there are too many people with exactly the same list). The helmet is actually the first thing worth getting nowadays as it combines all the slayer equipment to use with useful defencive stats and alot of conveniance. Cannoning specters would be impossible without it. Yet again, you seem to overvalue the amount of slayer points you would get and the comveniance you gain in using them- money can be made in hundreds of ways much faster than slayer points, but the points can only be gotten in one way. Killing blows for me atleast was one of the most welcome additions for slayer as i returned to it as it makes gargoyles much more bearable. Unless you are going to block gargoyles, it is certainly worth getthing the ability. The ability makes the task faster no matter how focused you can be, and the extra focus will slow you down in the long run.
  8. Well if you are really going for 90 strength you might just aswell look into leveling your dungeoneering up to 80- i know it is quite a bit of work to do and especially at your level, but i bet that if you were to get 99 strength with ss versus chaotic rapier you'd actually save time getting 80 dungeoneering and have gained the level and weapon for a profit(of time). While people on this thread talk about strength or accuracy numbers of up to +10 of one weapon against another, a chaotic rapier+rune defender is +24 strength, +31 accurecy and +20 defence over a saradomin sword, which as anyone would testify, is ALOT. Don't worry about the recharge cost, a rapier with normal nonmulty training will last around 30 hours of combat(66k an hour) which is easily gained back by getting 1.5 times the kills at most training places.
  9. The slayer xp for the points is horribly imbalanced and not worth it at all. Most of the things that would be worth getting are slayer helmet, slayer rings, autokill and task blocking, when you have already maxed those out it makes sence to use the points whenever you don't feel like doing a certain task- it might sound stupid, but if you are doing a task you don't like too much while not being in the mood to train the skill, it slows you down considerbly, or you could use the points to fill a day or two with your favorite tasks in order to get nice xp and drops(i for example did 2 whole days with only ice strykewyrms and abyssals on 2.4k points). Ofcource, you also have the option to trade 35 points for 100k in runes(250 slayer dart) but i'd say it's not really worth it(in terms or trying to make money or gain slayer xp).
  10. I've never really cared too much about ranks as i was getting most of my skills up to 99, as i was more bothered doing it in the most efficient way. Now, when most of my skills are already 99 and i don't have any enjoyable skills left to do, it makes sense to train the skills you like even though you have already maxed them out and are gaining ranks along with experience no matter what. Also it's quite nice to have effigie drops now as it allows for people that don't like certain skills to train them while doing what they actually like doing.
  11. I don't think it would be too terrible if f2p could gather dragon bones or herlore seconds for the members to feast upon, just the question of bots would remain then. I think having a 50 dungeoneering requirement for a mini-green-brutal dragon dungeon(around level 140) that use many combat styles could potentially be good enough money for the free players and substancially unbottable. For herblore seconds, make the dragons drops similar to the strykewyrms(potatoe cactii, crushed nests, papayas etc).
  12. Certainly not woth getting if you can afford a bandos chestplate, it usually takes people 6 hours to get, but you could get it in anywhere from 4 to 12 hours as the gameplay depends heavily on your team. And well...if you are high enoiugh combat level look for people at w6 reqruiting for a good team.
  13. this,,,,,this too ruins him.....i admire the achievement but hes not even a contender in my eyes 200m farming takes under 1.5 years, he has way more than that ahead of him if he ever intends to max out. Not really a huge issue. assuming 1 fruit tree + 2 mage tree runs per day, thats only 200k xp per day, still 3 years even suomi plans on doing farmingin 2 years, i dont think 1.5 is possible to do while doing other normal activities, its only possible if farming was ur only skill left You forgot herbs, which are more than 100k extra xp every day, also you can do 3 tree runs and more than one(in decimals) fruit tree runs in a day, so 1.5 years is easily doable. As for drumgun, wow. Just wow. Is sw even good in terms of xp an hour? It makes sense in terms of having already maxed out hp but still....quite an extreme amount of xp that noone really saw coming. Also, while you all are counting him out, he still has 185m range xp to go, which can take him up to 100m slayer xp if zarfot is anything to go by. After that...can't really speculate as we don't know what the future will bring. As for effigies, i managed to get 7 today within around 330k slayer xp, and only 2 from the same task, so they don't seem as rare as i used to think they were. If we assume 100k slayer xp per effigie, that multiplies the speed of slayer training by 1.5 times, with other useful(and slow) xp added in.
  14. It would be nice for a frost dragon to be the f2p first boss monster, BUT, there are serious problems with that. Firstly, f2p can't regenerate prayer, and secondly, something boss monster hard in f2p would be campable in p2p, and then you'd have to seriously consider how to play the drop tables, as it can't be the same, as it would be terrible for f2p or too good for p2p, or you can't balance it to give better rewards in f2p, as that wouldn't make any sense at all either.

w2 santa/mask section, w117 deamonheim or ZMI world at the banker work best.
  16. xpx replied to TDC's topic in Help and Advice
You can bank it and wait until you have the levels to complete it, spend an hour finding 2-4 to assist you in completing it or trade it in at the varrokc museum for a 5k lamp. If you plan on ever getting up to those levels, you'll be glad you saved them, so i'd do that, although i'm not one to listen(though i do bank effigies i can soup up to the levels).
  17. would there still be any way to still do it in the fast ma method where by people really work as a team to get the fastest rank possible? I got to around 100 rank and it just killed me, this is one louzy minigame...
  18. It's not meant to be used that way so it's ok. Who says it's not meant to be used that way? As far as i know, prayer flicking is a very useful strategy to gain an edge over those less skilled or those that can't be bothered to do it themselves. I think jagex should atleast consider making the descriptions nonmandatory- who really needs to be told what a prayer does EVERY time you turn it on, which can be thousands of times per slayer task. Also the description is still bugged- soul split is the only prayer where the description covers the prayer icon when used.
  19. Everyone who does the quest gets 99 free tabs so i would presume they would rather lower in price than rise.
  20. I think the 927k slayer xp was just due to him being very lucky with effigies- in all likelyhood(assuming he didn't get the same task very close to the next one) he got 3 effigies from 2 seperate tasks in a day, which to be honest, is almost impossible, in all likelyhood, there will be days he will not get any effigies and it still averages around 1 effigie per 100-150k slayer xp. I have no idea how i could have gone 800k slayer xp without one when zarfot is getting 8 in a day. Also, for the calculations, ranged xp doesn't only come from cannoning, but also steel titan, which should be factored in(but ofcource, it can't be, so using a modest 2.5 ratio for ranged would make more sense).
  21. Well my rapier+claws with ovl/turm etc didn't seem to damage her at all, atleast while she was on the plinths.
  22. Don't use melee. Have both ranged and mage attacks at the ready. Don't be stupid(the one that fit me the best, took me 3 tries, 2 of them trying to claw her). should be an easy fight if you can switch fast enough. Salamanders might make it particularly easy(as her switches are fast).
  23. you could try zombie implings, would get you the levels in no time at all, you can check a guide on them in beginning guide section.
  24. xpx replied to svs's topic in Help and Advice
Well i guess proselyte/whip/EE with proc melee/piety will be enough for you then, as the EE spec should heal you enough to counter their rare mage attacks at close range. Do also remember that they aren't a particularly fast task with melee, as max melee with every toy you can bring still totals barely 35k slayer xp an hour, cannon would add around 10k to your hourly rate there(so around 50k slayer xp an hour with maxed mage+cannon there).
  25. Polly wants a cracker? OT: All fixed now, i made the crucial mistake of logging out when i saw that the ge wasn't working.
