  1. First 100k distance in the shield unlocks 240 azure missions, a further 100k starts giving you 360 and 560 azure missions, also. Those 560 azure missions are 40k single stat difficulty, however. Already managed to amass 4.6k azure and get the rudder, so getting resources isn't nearly as difficult in the shield as it was in the loop.
  2. Been answered. Could have been 2nd if i chose to, but i needed a bit more TC for last merchant. But in general, all 3 of us made it within 8 hours of eachother.
  3. Tear down? Isn't the basis of comparing 07scape and real 07 runescape to say that people back then were rubbish and their achievements worth less? And in any case, talking about oldschool efficiency, what N0valyfe achieved is also more impressive.
  4. You were shooting at a stationary target. People in 07 were shooting at a moving target. I don't think it's that hard to understand why one would be more difficult. And, as i said, if you were plunked into the real game(summoning came out 6 months after the 07scape snapshot) summoning would have been released before you maxed, and because you would not have known about it, would have had to basically max combat again to max.
  5. Well, not until everyone has max ship/port, because right now, those are basically suicide missions. Also i think you are underestimating a couple of effects. Firstly, the time of those voyages is longer and the successrate lower(max success for 5 TG in single style with merchant used to be 90%, now it will be 78% for 8 TG voyages). Another factor is that we have 2 new trade goods that are worth much less than the average, so even though the expected TG's per hour is up 30%(0.4 vs 0.52), the supply of most of these will stay relatively the same. Also, already managed to lose 573 azure on a 60% success adv azure mission. Atleast i got azure on gossip, this time. Also got a new tier of azure, 240.
  6. Anyway, a little more voyage information: Standard distance is 8k, 10k for long. First 2 azure tiers are 70% and 80%. Gossip is 720 azure, same as joint acquisition. Adv azure is 560. Adv missions for azure/8 TG are as follows: 560 azure 28.5k single 17.1k duo 8TC 35.625k single 20.48k duo(6-2 split for Architect and Trapper, 6-10 for Chef) Whaler S Assassin C Occulist MC Biologist MS Missionary CS Convict M Trapper MC(CS TG) Chef MS Architect CS Biologist and Chef duo TG gives 10 pearls 30 spice at 40k S req Assassin and Convict duo TG gives 16 lacquer at 40k C req
  7. There are no multi stat captains. Anyway, one good thing about the shield is that there are no more annoying triple stat chime only missions. But yeah, the reqs are extremely high all the way round. I sent the exile unlock at 44%. Then what in your own pictures is Alexander Thorn the 27.5k charms captain with 550 stats across the board with 950 speed if not a multi-stat captain? A speed captain? duh... If the rate you get them at is one per week then it really doesn't matter. Just get them as you can and start selecting better ones once you have 5.
  8. There are no multi stat captains. The best captain configuration will propably be 221 MCS with one of the morale captains with 4xMulti(everyone else 4%). The captains are reasonably common(around 15% i'd say). Anyway, one good thing about the shield is that there are no more annoying triple stat chime only missions. But yeah, the reqs are extremely high all the way round. I sent the exile unlock at 44%.
  9. Just reached the shield: An adv reroll: voyage information: The 2 first azure tiers are 120 and 160. 8 chi 17.8k MCS8 plate 17.8k MCS40 spice 20.485k CS8 pearls 20.485k MC8 lacquer 35.625k M8 bones 20.485k CS11:35 min time for short, 14:55 min time for long. crew(yeah, same as the info we already had):
  10. Find someone that maxed at the time and started playing after the release of slayer... But in general, the comment was about how ridiculous it is to compare maxing in 07 and maxing in 07scape, because you are throwing alot of extremely important factors out of the window. Those two can't be compared like this. Also, someone who would have started playing at exactly the same time as you did would also have had to max summoning, likely after they'd already completed slayer.
  11. Training was faster without make-X. So XP/Hr was higher but it was more work. But thanks for the Jebrim & Others example in OSRS. It shows that the game didn't get any easier. The players just figured out how to play efficiently. Jebrim didn't max combat 2 times so in terms of real 07 scape, he didn't max. That goes up to 3 times when you consider 08 scape, and 4 times when you consider 10' scape. Not to mention, the people that actually maxed in 07 got alot of their xp at much worse rates.
  12. And you'll get enough cotta for all this? I will run either one TCM or wisp short. Had a stretch of around 30% where i didn't get any adventurer cotta. And about the switching of regions... :wall: The statues are just bonus. No reason to switch regions for those.

    QBD help

There is a difference between one, very fast kill and faster, more consistent kills. Berserker doesn't help you kill faster, but it will definitely help getting you killed faster.

    QBD help

Don't use berserker on the final phase. It's only worth it if you are tying for the fastest kill, otherwise it's pretty pointless. Penace aura works nicely in allowing you to do a full hour without extra prayer.
  15. Well, lucky is a relative term when you consider that you are guaranteed a wisp first reroll after completing the mission and that i will pass trough the loop without ever bothering to hire one. For the hiring of crew, i see no reason to just stop and wait. All you are doing is just delaying the training, which in no way helps you.
  16. There is really not much to it- you are mostly limited by how fast you can roll them and how many you can buy. In terms of training, you'd like to have one level 0 at a time and send those on a high-success rate mission(over 80%). You won't have enough time to only upgrade one at a time(level 6-7 can take 7 days or more).
  17. Uhhm.... none that really know how to do ports. Right now i'm getting 70-80% success for loop voyages with merchant. Wouldn't focus on a lower region even if that dropped to a 30% average. It would be a murder to focus on achieving nothing. To that adv point, yeah, i forgot that they always focus on your highest region, thus making both his and my point moot.
  18. Only successful voyages level crew. A first voyage takes your crew to level 3 or level 4 with a long voyage. I'm getting my first level 9 crewmen right now. Will not get any level 10 before shield.
  19. You do know the loop isn't the place to gather trade goods? You also lose out on all those sweet adv tc missions...
  20. rune wiki has a pretty decent guide on moneymaking: http://runescape.wikia.com/wiki/Money_making It doesn't include high level bossing and some of the skilling method profits are highly volatile, but generally does a good job.
  21. I've gotten all my binds in solo meds, so t11 drops certainly aren't too rare. You'll certainly have a much better chance when doing large dungeons with a team, but if you can't bother... In general, the best/fastest way to get t11 binds are 5:5 medium dungeons only doing the boss. Those are around 30-50% chance and take 2-3 minutes.
  22. I'd think 6/6/6/4merch/3exile would work best Afterall the shield crew will ve 4200 at lvl 10 Exile sf at lvl 10 would be 2900 with +250 - +750 So it'd be a pretty big hit to sf to take an exile over one of them. For SF it would be a tradeoff of 800 sf for max speed. 800 sf at that point is something like 3% and thus it may very well be worth it. For MC it would be a tradeoff of 1150 m/c, which at that point should be around 4%, which may also be worth it. It is advised to look at the speed of the new hulls. Triple hull should be used for all duo/triple missions but has -450 speed compared to M/C hulls. The only missions the new hulls do not play into are M and C solo missions, which are the ones an exile wouldn't be used for.
  23. Yeah, i'd never seen the traits next to the names. If that's true, however, exiles would be by far the best crew in general, being great for 3 types and good for 2 others. In that case i'd probably get 3 or 4 of them, rounding out the crew with 4 merchants and either 666 or 665.
  24. I've had some bad luck also. I'm also already at 83%. I will likely get all the ship parts, but i might not get to reqruit my last 2 crewmen(TCM and wisp). Ahh well, shield next Wednesday.
