  1. can't seem to stay off the Ganodermic beasts, not even for one day... addicted to camping those it would seem... HELP!

  2. Funny thing is that the money to be gotten from Begging and stealing is probably alot less than even doing some low level skilling and selling the goods on GE... They probably end up quitting early because nobody would 'help' them, or they find it 'boring'
  3. Wear it and operate it from the Worn Equipment screen
  4. I'd say add a key section on your tool belt, make it so that the keys can only be added after the completion of One Small Favor, and add the keys like you would as a tool. except the frozen key because that key is unique in terms of use.
  5. It drops rather commonly from the Beasts, the I'd actually only be worried about is the Fire Runes. They are not easy to buy off the GE right now, and the cost of the fire runes per shot surpassed that of the spores, so unless the fire rune prices drop, the cost of the staves won't drop very much in the near future. (It took me 3-4 days to get 200k fire runes at 20 each, I put in an order of 250k, rest still haven't been delivered) The money you'd make casting the 3000 shots would easily cover any price drops. Besides, it will be hard to drop the price of the staff when the value of the ammo surpasses that of the stick.
  6. DAA is also useful for making Lapis Lazuli Brooch, again, not entirely redundant.
  7. Damagewise, PPS is only beaten during incidences where: 1. Fire surge is used against Ice Strykewyrms or Glacors 2. Charged arena spells is used before hitting 96 magic 3. Using the highest available Ancient magic spell. At level 99, only unboosted Ice Barrage using Chaotic staff is better. Any other scenario PPS is better. Even Miasmic barrage doesn't do as much damage as PPS. 4. In DPS compared to Storm of Armadyl (marginally better w/o Armadyl Battlestaff, decisively better with it) 5. You are Bursting or Barraging multiple creatures at once. All of the above options are way ahead of PPS in terms cost per damage. The only thing that could come close to it is when you are Bursting/barraging multiple targets (IE cost spread across all monsters), otherwise PPS is the best staff economy wise, and of the highest hitting at any given magic level.
  8. Just realised that while you can add Chain Link Mold to your belt, you can't add Monkey mold....
  9. from what I have heard, yes, I havent been able to test it out yet. Maybe i'll see if i can get into one of my old pures...
  10. The only thing I can see making a large impact is that it is now possible to craft 9 d'hide bodies per inventory of D'leather as opposed to 8, due to the removal of needle from the inventory, making 27 spaces for leather. Otherwise, the difference in speed in preparing crushed nests etc for herblore would have a minor effect (an inventory of 27 vs 28), though noticeable. The convenience of having all the tools all the time is worth the xp you get in the time saved trying to get/look for the tools you require. It is also possible now to be able to take the entire inventory of demon butler's load when training construction, before you either had to go through a long conversation, or your tools and notes would take up at least 3 inventory space. now, even if you are asking for the butler to plank them for you, you can still take all of its load (tools are now tool belted, and money is in the pouch).
  11. This update has pretty much negated the use of some of the novelty skilling items in the game: Barb-Tail Harpoon Golden Hammer Beaver Pyrelord Wieldable fish nets (can still be used for cosmetics). Dwarven Army Axe (though DAA acts as steel rather than bronze)
  12. Yesterday, December 6th, 2011, a date which will live in memory. The Skills of Runescape was suddenly and deliberately changed by the JMods and designers of Jagex Ltd. (Bonus points for finding where this was from). The latest update, Tool Belt and Money Pouch, forever changes the way we do certain things, such as Gem Cutting, Glass Blowing, Potion Making, etc. What is this Tool Belt? Tool belt is a place where you can store various tools used in skilling on your character in a separate place, therefore eliminating having to remember carrying all the tools all the time (many here have experienced how frustrating that could be), as well as saving inventory space. Oh, and all items added to your toolbelt loses their weight, so even having your belt full, you will still weigh 0kg when not carrying anything. Where is this belt thing? I can't find it! :( The Toolbelt is located on your 'Worn Equipment' screen, on the bottom right hand corner. The Money Pouch is located underneath the minimap circle, just to the left of the 'World' button How do I use it? I can't find my belt to use with my items! That's what will change the way you skill in RS, forever. The toolbelt does not require you to use items on it or vice versa, like the tools used to do, but it modifies the options of the said items. So for example, you used to have to use Chisel on uncut sapphire in order to cut it into a sapphire. Now, when you add a chisel to your belt, a new option will be available from the uncut gem (Craft Uncut ...). Left clicking on it will open up a Make-X interface, and then everything works normally from there. So you no longer have to tediously click on Chisel, click on gem, click on Make-all to make them, instead its just click on gem, click on make all, done. But wouldn't that...? No it doesn't. Make-X interface will now always open up when cutting a gem this way, even if there is only 1 gem in your inventory. This is a change. This was designed to prevent accidental cutting of gems while moving around in your inventory. Do I lose anything if I die? All toolbelt items and money pouch (the latter is implied by Jagex, but needs confirmation) are kept upon death. All tools added to the tool belt cannot be removed after they are added. I have a problem finding X! Here is a list of all the convenient locations that you can find the tools to add to your belt: Farming: all 5 can be bought from Farming shops. You can also withdraw them from your Leprechaun. Spade, Seed Dibber, Rake, Trough and normal secateurs. Magical secateurs cannot be added to the belt, and thus still must be withdrawn and wielded to benefit. Fishing: All tools except the Barbarian Fishing Rob can be bought in Port Sarm. Barbarian Fishing rod is find in Otto's Hut. Search the Bed. General: Bronze Pickaxe and Hatchet is available for free from Bob in Lumbridge. Machete is available from Shilo Village General Store. Pestle & Mortar from any herblore shop (such as Taverly). All other items are available from General stores or tool sheds in your PoH. Glassblower's pipe is also available from Entrana. Chart is available from the Observatory, and Watch can be made in POH or obtained from monk in Watchtower. Crafting: All moulds are available from the Al-Kharid crafting shop, except the Unholy Mold, Cannonball Mold and Chain Link mold. Unholy mold can be obtained from Spirit of Scorpious in the graveyard south of the entrance to Ourania and Red salamander Hunter area. Cannonball mold is sold by a dwarf trader at the entrance to dwarven mines SW of edgeville (the same dwarf also sells cannon parts). Chain Link mould can only be obtained after the completion of Darkness Hallowvale quest, found in the Myreque hideout in Meyerditch, search the crates in the room adjacent to the one with ladder. If you found smoke bombs, it's in the other room. What are the use option changes? Uncut and Cut gems have craft left click option Logs have Craft left click, Light as a right click Molten Glass have craft left click Coconuts have break left click Barbarian fishing catches have Fillet left click Everything else functions the same as before. Spade will only work from your toolbelt if used for farming. Treasure trail and Barrows still need a spade in your inventory. Why can't I add X to my belt?! Only the lowest quality of any tool can be added to the belt, IE you can only add Bronze pick and Hatchet, you cannot add any higher ones. Jade, Opal and Red Topaz Machetes do not add to the belt. Sextant do not add to the belt because it a tool used by itself. Lockpick and thread do not add to the toolbelt because they are consumables. Flametaer hammer from Temple building also do not add (a perculiarity). Dwarven Army Axe also does not add. Barb-Tail harpoon does not add. Magical Secateurs do not add. Oily fishing rod does not add. Where's my money?! All cash picked up, collected, obtained or withdrawn now automatically goes into your money pouch. To see how much money you have left in your money pouch, right click on the coins icon just below the Minimap circle, to the left of the 'World' button, and select 'Toggle'. This will switch the display of the cash you have remaining on and off. You can also use the right click to examine the money, telling you the amount of coins you have in detail, or withdraw, in which case the money will turn up in your inventory. How do I trade? Everytime I try to withdraw money, it jumps me out of my trade screen! Just below the 'Trading with: XXX' line, there is a '+ Money from pouch'. Click on that, it will withdraw any amount of cash you desire straight from your money pouch onto your trade screen. Clicking on the money pouch icon itself will jump you out of trade screen. EDIT: To crewbies who happen upon this guide. You can use this guide if it is good enough. Just send me a PM and go ahead. Don't wait for a reply
  13. Not much of a 'nerf'. It's a buff if anything...
  14. Do you power to 99? If so why? 99 is certainly a goal I want to achieve, but I only 'power' through if I am willing to. I did power through several skills to get the 99. FM because it wanted its Emote. Cooking because I wanted another 99 to trim the cape. Defence because it was one of the rarer combat 99's, and I have more uses for defence than other combat spells. Then it was crafting, I am not sure why I chose crafting, perhaps because it was a 'rare' 99. Then it was Magic, because it was my favourite combat style. 99 Constitution came naturally. I haven't properly powered 99's since my last 99 strength, I have tried to do it on ranging, but stopped after I got from 96 to 97. Do you vary your game play? If so how? Unless I want to reap the benefit of 99 asap, I do try to use various methods to train, especially unconventional ones. I leveled magic to 99 with String Amulet spell before it was a well known training method, and I have been killing Vyrelords/ladies with Stakes for my ranged.
  15. THat's pretty much all of December's BTS in one update no?
  16. I go off for a few days and it goes from 800 to 300's...? 360! And not the console
  17. In the description for the Mycelium Poncho Web, Mycelium Leggings web and Mycelium Visor web, the Fungal, Grifolic & Ganodermic Flake and Ganodermic armor are linked, but Fungal and Grifolic are not.
  18. Just curious if anyone tested both a set of High magic attack equipment vs Void mage equipment. I am currently undecided whether I should keep using Elite Void Mage (without Deflector, I probably won't be getting it anytime soon due to its what I see as a ridiculous requirement), or go straight up magic equipment. I am primarily going to be camping at the Ganodermic beasts, and choosing between the Elite void mage or a mix of Akrisae's and Ahrim's. I can achieve about 40 prayer bonus and about 100 magic attack bonus with the mix, while I can achieve 49 Magic attack and 29 prayer on elite void mage. If you were given the choice, which would you choose?
  19. I can see the point about People saying most of the content before were all geared at low levels, while nowadays most content are high levels. I am not disagreeing, but I feel Jagex aren't exactly guilty trying to keep up to the trend of the current RS population. Back when I was most active (2005 - 2007), Maxed out players were few and far in between (the Z Vs N days) and majority of the player base had somewhat lower skill than some us have. But now, that trend is changing. Maxed out players number in the thousand. I consider my character to be somewhat medium high. Back in those days, my highest rank was in the 3000's, now it's 30,000's. This shows that the distribution of player base is shifting towards higher levels, and they eventually became a majority, thus Jagex would have to start catering for them, or else the complaints would get louder. Yes, Jagex may be over doing it in the recent times, but they also need to stop making some of the low level content useless. Workshop series? Come on! It's the most labor intensive method of production in the game we have at the moment, and yet it's not worth the effort even if you went straight from ore to bar to finished product... at least make it a somewhat useful armor or chance to save runes of its type. Also, Smithing is probably the epitome of Useful early and incredibly useless later on. You get a huge range of armor and weapons you can smith, from Bronze to Rune. But you can never hope to keep up smithing with your combat. For example, it takes level 30 defence to wear Adamant Platebody, yet it takes level 88 Smithing to make one. By the time you reach 88 defence, you would have been able to wear anything you want in the game. Where is Smithing at? Not even making Rune Scimitars. The skill needs a seriously major revamp, and probably have to be completely redesigned
  20. The idea of Boosting magic is not just being able to cast Higher level spells, but boosted magic also increases magic damage by 3% for every level that is boosted above your maximum. So let's say you have base 90 magic, and Vecna boosts to 96, you will gain +18% damage while its at 96, +15% at 95, etc until it falls back down to 90 again. So you can consider the Skull as Damage boost CD. Also, increasing Magic level means greater accuracy. Lastly, The damage of the staff scales with Magic level (+5 for every level), so you are increasing the staff substantially
  21. It's not any single expensive drop, but a multitude of common but still expensive drops that makes them good (Palm, Papaya, Yew and Magic seeds, Torstol seeds). And you should be doing Ganodermic beasts. but you have to mage them. I suggest getting yourself a Polypore staff from the GE first, much cheaper than any alternatives.

    Drinking/Drugs

One of the primary reasons why some drugs are illegal (especially with the synthetic ones) is that they have adverse effects while they are active inside the body, such as hallucination, rush of energy all can contribute the loss of judgment and cause problems to other people and/or property that, had they not taken the drugs in the first place, would not have happened. Examples include hallucinogens like LSD. Another reason why is that some of their withdrawal symptoms and side effects could be quite severe, again perhaps leading to loss of judgment or awareness and causing damage. Although one could argue that the severity of side effects is caused primarily by the impurities the drug dealers add to their poison to 'dilute' the actual product (chalk dust, rat poison, etc), and this is a result of actually banning the drugs. I am impartial to what governments decide to do with drugs, as I will never be taking any of it. But what I would hope to see is, whatever they ultimately decide to do with them, they are able to deal with the consequences.
  23. Oh, and 70 Nature runes, 1135 Pure essence.
  24. I am having problems connecting to the homepage too. Request timed out. *5 Ping statistics: Packets sent = 5, Received = 0, Lost = 5 (100% loss) Probably either server problems or the internet percolation brokedown somewhere
  25. I think you got it the other way round, the staff is cheap and readily obtainable, and the armor is decent if you gather the flakes yourself. The polypore spores are priced currently at 100 each, even with 20 gp per fire rune, it still comes out only half as much as a single death rune, and does much more damage than Fire Blast.
