The Little Things Make the World go 'Round!
@harrinator1 => I guess we can throw those in. Although it'd be funny smithing a hammer head with a hammer.. ;) @ThruItAll => I think for these suggestions we'll be sticking to wood items.

Good luck on your blog and whatnot.. but there's something I'm confused about. How in the world do you have more replies than you do views!?!? That baffles me. ~Lunar

A M00SE is hunting? Wierd.. *June 7*
Decided to start the blog to help pass the time and keep my log somewhere other than in Notepad (lovely as it is!) Well.. maybe we'll have a bit of an introduction first, shall we? [hide=Long Introduction and History] My very, very original account name was Wizman (or wizman1). It's been so long that I can't even recall correctly anymore. I first heard about Runescape from some friends who had been playing for a while over the summer while I was at a camp. This was - I think- in 2001. They said "Hey, you should try out this new game! It's called Runescape.. you'll probably remember it better if you think about it as 'Run-Escape'. So I did... I tried it out the first time I got a chance to. The only times I got to play was when I went with my mother to her work, where they had the internet. I'd get on and wander around.. I died a lot back then. I also seemed to forget my passwords, so I had to keep creating new accounts. The one that I got developed the farthest before I forgot the password was Bowman1113. After losing the password on that one, I created a new account; Trunksbomb. Some of you may know me from that particular character. But back in the day, being as young as I was, I didn't really have that great of an attention span. I would start doing something, then wander off and do something else; I didn't get much accomplished. I met some good friends back then.. ahh the memories. And then, in my 7th grade year came the release of the ever-anticipated RS2. At the time, we didn't have all these crazy school filters, so my friends and I would play RS during break; rather, I'd play and they'd watch. The game was great! I still didn't get to play much during that time, but it would change.. years later. Jumping forward through a large span of inactivity, I began really playing last year with the introduction of wireless internet to the house. I really started getting into the game. I went to a measly level 40 something to level 93 (methinks) before I retired Trunksbomb. Many a great memory on that character. I did, however, retire him for some time to play on Sir Xaeroe; some of you may remember my blog from here. Sir Xaeroe was my Prayer and Skill Pure. Great times there, as well. I got all of his non-combat stats higher than on Trunksbomb within a matter of weeks. With time, I managed to achieve 52 prayer at level 9 combat. (if you're still reading this put a ~%~ in your post!) It was amazing the goggling eyes I would get for running around with Smite at my level. Alas, Sir Xaeroe has since been banned for "Bug-Abuse". My friend told me about how you could have the CW options outside of CW by a glitch.. and I wanted to see for myself. Of course, none of them worked, but.. I still got banned for the exploration of the bug; even after I reported it. Teaches me right though.. Now somewhere in all that mess- January of '07 to be exact- I became a Tip.It moderator. It was fun modding the boards with the same people I had been sending in Reports to for some time. Now I could lock, move, delete, and report people without having to wait for other mods! I was so ecstatic. I became good friends with some of the admins during this time, as well as the other mods. But my time came to an end when I retired Trunksbomb and quit RS... but I'm back! GAH!! And now leads me to my current character, M 0 0 S E. He started off with the goal of a staker in mind. My current stats will be a bit further down the page, but just know that my attack and defense are pretty much matched and about 20 levels higher than strength. A good staker set-up, once he got to be a higher level. So now, with the introduction over, onto my goals! Thanks if you read all that.[/hide] [hide=Short Introduction] My RS name is M 0 0 S E, and I'm a staker. Currently I'm doing a bit of skilling just for the heck of it. Come on in and support me in my goal. [/hide] [hide=Daily Journal] [hide=May 24, 2007]After my journal entry last night, my friend got me a fly fishing rod to save me the travels. He also gave me 300 complementary feathers. So that added to my collection of 1k. But it was time to go to bed, so I put that off until today. Fished some in the morning, went to school (blah), and then came home to finish off those feathers. Ended up with about 700ish trouts and 500ish salmon. Now I'm on to my woodcutting for the day. If I finish, I'll have 63 woodcutting and 4,800 willows. Quite a haul for one day! Fishing is up to 48 from 30. I'm starting to get a headache, so I don't know if I'll finish today. Oh well.. [/hide] [hide=May 23, 2007]Got me another 1k willows today. Saw another autoer die in the bank from that good ol' Drunken Dwarf. Gotta love 'im! But anyways.. achieved 61 woodcutting today. That's another three levels! I'm feeling quite accomplished now. At the time of writing this, I'm fishing up anchovies and shrimps merely steps away from where I've just been woodcutting. I'll be netting these until 30 fishing, at which time I'll head on over to the Chicken Pen and slaughter enough chickens for 1k feathers. Afterwards, I'll fish those 1k feathers away on trouts (and hopefully salmon later). Don't know what level that'll get me, but hopefully it'll be good. Wish me luck! [/hide] [hide=May 22, 2007]So today I got on to do some WC'ing after work. What fun! Didn't really do much talking as I was setting up my blog and whatnot. Nothing eventful thus far, not sure what I'll do after I get my daily 1k willows.. maybe some fishing? Meh.. had fun anyways. [/hide] [/hide] So now onto my goals. Goal 1: 10k Willows 10,500 // 10,000 Willows! that'll be 1k willows everyday for 10 days. As you see, I've already started. I've finished this goal, and now we're on to Hunter! Goal 2: 99 Hunter So now I've gotten into Hunter. I've already started leveling, and I'm doing quite well. As of the writing of this, I've got 59. 1-32 in one day, 32-55 the next, and 55-59 so far as of this writing. Great progress, I'd say. Well, here goes Hunter! [hide=Hunter Blog] [hide=Day 2, June 6]DAY 1 (June 6) ~=~ Level 1 - Level 32 Experience Gained ~=~ 16,584 So today is the day that my long journey has begun. The goal? 99 Hunter, of course. I bought my first set of bird traps and headed off to Feldip Hills. My first trap; a success. 9 Feathers, some bones, and some meat. I have a feeling I'll be seeing a lot of that on my way to 63 Hunter; where the real experience and money is. At this point, I'm just hoping that the Red Chinchompa prices don't fall too much. The cash from 63-99 Hunter at the current market price is about 35 million. That should be more than enough to buy me 99 Firemaking, which I want to be my second 99. It's a totally hawt cape! Well, I ended the day today with 16.5k more experience and 31 levels more than I had to start with. I think that's quite handy work for only a couple of hours.. Met a new friend up in the woodland neck of the woods as well! Ah.. I'm going to start my blog on this tomorrow after my exams. Goodnight all![/hide] [hide=Day 2, June 7]Day 2 (June 7) ~=~ Level 32 - Level 55 Experience Gained ~=~ 150,922 Day two of hunting and already I feel great about it! It's progressing very well at the moment. At the writing of this section, I've gotten up to 44 Hunter and am moving onto a spot of Falconry until 53. My good friend did his Falconry up to level 63 I do believe, and he did it fairly quickly. So off to the Falcons we go! I'm hoping to get at least 48, maybe 50 Hunter by the end of today. Today I had an exam in Art. Drawing and Painting is the technical term.. but we just call it Art. My teacher and I don't really like each other, so the exam sucked. Oh well.. got two more exams and I'm outta school for the summer! I just can't wait! So finished off today with a whopping level of 55. Did [puncture]ly Kebbits for quite some time.. all the way up to level 44. From 44-53, I did Spotted Kebbits at the Falconry Range. Pretty easy, went by pretty fast as well. At 53, I went off to the bank and grabbed some boxes and started racking up the Chinchompas! Got 150 today, but I didn't get much playing time after 53.. oh well, more time tomorrow! Didn't get my blog started today.. just been typing this up in Notepad for the time being. So much work, Hunter is. Doesn't give much time to multitask![/hide] [/hide] I'll be uploading some pics later, I'm about to leave for a few hours. Keep an eye out on my blog, will ye? Stats and Level Ups Here are my starting stats at the start of this blog: [hide=Stat Updates] May 23, 2007 [/hide] And here is that lovely bank! (As of May 22, 2007) And now comes the level up section! Every blog has to have one of those. The Little Things Make the World go 'Round!
@Mayjest => Nobody said anything about making a chisel.. did we? And yes, they would probably require other materials for some of them. Like.. string for rods, a head for pickaxes and rakes. Those could be made with smithing. And string.. hm.. still Crafting, but maybe flax for that? Meh.. @scruff636b => I think we should stick with the original idea of the wooden shield. Possibly we could include or rename it a buckler, but keep it in the shield spot. Putting it as a glove would allow one to wield both a buckler and a normal shield.. not really possible if you think about it. I see where you might be coming from, though. Maybe it could be like a 2H sword, which doesn't allow for wielding a shield with it. You could possibly have a buckler with the 2H sword, seeing as that doesn't really require a free hand to use and doesn't weigh much. Also, shields would be incompatible with it, except for Defenders. Whew.. now to add to the supporters.

what does this ratio mean?
To see if it's worth fighting that monster based solely on it's HP:combat ratio. Take Rock Crabs for example. Level: 13 Hitpoints: 50 Ratio: 3.85 This means that it's very good to train on this monster, because it's hitpoints are much higher than it's combat. Rock Crabs

what does this ratio mean?
It's the Hits:Level Ratio. Divide the Hits of a monster by the level of the monster. The higher the ratio, the better that monster is to fight for it's level. ~Lunar

Yeah.. thanks, but those don't work. The "Alt + ###" codes don't work. I think they use some other way. Thanks for the help anyways! ~Lunar

Will he come after me?
Yep. You're completely safe down there from the Brothers. That is, until you open the crypt! . I'm sure you can still get randoms down there. Also, in my opinion, it's not very honorable to do such. Whenever I see people alching down there, I know what they're actually there for. Waiting on someone to die.. but meh.. just my opinion. ~Lunar

Not yet but plz help me
You'll have to provide us with more detail into what you're looking for. If you're going for Range, you'll need Karils. If you want mage bonuses, you'll want Ahrims. As for melee.. well that's completely based on what you're looking for. If you want cheap and high defense, go with Torags armour. Skip the hammers, because they pretty much stink. If you want big damage, go for Dharoks; however, you'll need to learn how to stay alive with it at low HP. You'll get the hang of it sooner or later. If you want to minimize your food usage and don't care about cost; Guthans of course! For Guthans, however, I'd suggest doubling up and having possibly Rune/Dragon/Torags armour to go with it, and just strap on Guthans when it's time to heal. If you plan on doing any serious Barrowing or KQ slaying, go for Veracs. It hits right through prayer with it's special effect. ~Lunar

Character Codes (Languages)
This is something that has been bugging me since they came out with the feature.. how do I make the different characters? Say for Spanish.. the "ÃÆÃâÃâá" or the "ÃÆÃâÃâñ"? Not just typing normally, with the alt + ####. For RS. I've tried various combinations, I've looked on the main website.. didn't see anything. Can any of you help a poor old nub out? ~Lunar

The Little Things Make the World go 'Round!
[hide=Crafting Ideas]Have you ever wondered why you cannot make wooden shields? Probably not.. but I have. I thought to myself today, "Why can't we fletch wooden shields?" and "Why should the Fletching skill only make ranging things?" While these may seem like legitimate questions, lets look at the real definition of "Fletch": Now.. that doesn't really fall into the category of shied making... so, I looked at what other skills it could be included under, and what other choice.. Crafting, of course! Now, why would someone want to make a wooden shield? Darned if I know. But it's merely a small issue with the inability to make them. Why shouldn't we be able to craft our own wooden shields? But, this isn't limited to wooden shields only. This also applies to other things made from wood. Mayhaps we could craft our very own spear shafts, fishing poles, harpoons, lobster pots; anything from wood! There may not be a wide audience for such an update, but it most assuredly would give the game a more diverse and complete feeling to me, and -I'm sure- to others. This idea has not been completed because it is up to us, the Tip.It community, to come up with more ideas for this. More items, levels, experience rates and whatever else may come. *EDIT 1* So, what we'll be able to make is: Wooden Shields Spear Handles Fishing Poles Harpoons Lobster Pots Axe and Pickaxe handles Bird Snares (right term?) Rakes Spades Nosepegs Slayer Staffs (possibly) Hammers Knives [/hide] [hide=Herblore Ideas]So for Herblore, your main goal is to pick and identify various herbs to make potions with, right? Well.. what if we could pick and identify the various fungi, plants, and flowers strewn about Runescape? This would add a more complete feeling to the game. To be fair, these wouldn't give a great amount of experience, and wouldn't be used for making potions. Rather, the fungus could be eaten. If not properly identified, however, it could be hazardous to your health. Flowers could be picked and used for decorative "weapons".[/hide] And a Supporters List 001)Lunar_Drifter 002)ThruItAll 003)mirjahasan 004)MasterSamus 005)RpgGamer 006)Prankster_King 007)NJE03 008)25leaf 009)Theoknight2 010)Sworddude198 011)PastyGangsta 012)Mortifyer1 013)Mayjest 014)Ashlyn_Hart 015)scruff636b 016)harrinator1 017)ortiz9471 018)killerred005 019)life_mage12 020)l0rdbarney 021)flava0falcon 022)vesuvius27 023)Hpk_1 024)Ray0xide 025)dippymister 026)blurite44 027)Natasa777 028)The_Bacon_man ~Lunar

Tip.It Times Presents: Robot Wars, aka Death of the Robots
Great article. I don't play anymore, but to see them ban so many paying members at their own expense to help clean up the game is very admirable. And just to point out, "quantity" is spelled wrong in the "Did you know.." section.

JaGEx didn't tell them not to drink the bleach, and leave it in their reach. They told them, put it in a higher cabinet, and then the child proceeded to grab a chair to climb up and reach it. People are always going to find a way around things. Scamming is always going to be there. If one person learns the hard way, then that person sure as heck won't do it again. And if he's smart, then he would warn others about it and/or the scammer; and hopefully those people will learn from his mistake. (And by "he" and "his", that applies to women and it-things as well.) ~Lunar- First the Wilderness Ditch, Now This?(May Someone Lock This)
I believe that it's not the specific rule that's causing all this hot debate; it's just the overall idea of it, among other updates. I haven't been playing for a while, but the two topics I hear most about right now are the Wilderness Ditch and now this. The Wilderness Ditch is great in my opinion. It stops people from haplessly wander out into the wilderness, only to have a) their internet disconnect, B) their computer start to lag, or c) them get sidetracked (their fault on the last one). Those things have happened to all of us at one point in time, and it really irks me, to say the least. All this debate about how long it takes to jump over the ditch... (as said in another thread) "who takes 2 seconds to move the mouse!" People are seriously over exaggerating this thing. It cuts maybe 1-1.5 seconds out of your RCing or PKing. Now as for the password blocking. As previously stated, blocking one's password is a really over protective thing to do. What if someone had a password like "iamsocool" or something. They wouldn't be able to say any of those words (if I'm correct). I know it's easy to change your password, don't get me wrong. But the point is, why block the password?! We as a community have gone over 6 years without our password being blocked. Why start now? I loved that great analogy that Sly Wizard quoted. This is just harboring the newer/unexperienced/idiotic players from what they would do and learn from. If JaGEx let them touch that hot stove, then they sure as heck wouldn't do it again, now would they? But constantly "holding their hand" causes them to grow dependent on JaGEx instead of their own common sense. Eventually, their common sense skills begin to diminish (albeit slowly). Their intelligent thinking may be decreased. "Oh.. is this a scam? Oh well!" Of course, these are a bit exaggerated. But nonetheless, something to this scale will happen if JaGEx continues to baby this community. We might as well be playing with JaGEx having a leash around our neck. ~Lunar- Nadril vs. DementedHero! VOTE NOW! edit: DH wins.
My vote goes to Nadril, due to pure awesomeness and visual-stunnery. I like the more industrialized look of Nadril's, as compared to the ooey-gooey look of DH's piece. ~Lunar- :: tripsis :: 99 Woodcutting!
