  1. I'll look at yours if you look at mine  Anyways, it looks good but the anatomy is off, even for a cartoon IMO. The guy with the santa hat and whip in the BG has a few anatomy issues. First off, even with the crest on the oversize gauntlet (not quite sure what that's called) you shading makes it look like the shoulder in the gauntlet is much higher and larger than the other one. Also, his torso especially on our right side looks like paper. There should be no empty space between the torso and his arm, it's all at least some part of his body. The way you have it now it looks like he's a paper cutout . The guy with the red party hat in the FG and the guy with the green party hat in the BG have no elbows. :-k The red phat guy also has a wierd face because, with the way you've drawn his nose, it looks like he's facing way off of where I would expect his actual attention to be at. In summary, the yellow circles are anatomy problems (no joints etc.) The red circles and arrows show the way different parts of the characters bodies appear to be pointing as I see it. Lots of the time these positions apper akward at best to me, contortionist at worst.
  2. Yeah, those ref pics sort of confirm what I thought. It seems that metal has a single very bright spot, then a middle shade that extends quite a ways without much difference in light and then a dark shade. Essentially 3 main shades with smaller contrasts within the main shades to blend a little.
  3. Water is so cool!!!!!!!! :XD: Nice job on the photos. The last one is my favorite (the one with the frozen water droplet.
  4. Took Ter's advice. I might still change the colors around a bit.

 ...................gravity defying dunno, it isn't so much that the cut is high than the cut seems to be a bit off-centered. I know she's turned to the side but her stomach looks straight the way you've done it and her head is facing straight but the clothes aree turned a lot.
  6. Heh, I still have that sweet avvy of the guy with the cigar you made for me. Yeah, now that I see the reference pic the hairline looks fine to me, maybe make the chin in the pixel a bit pointierish?
  7. Is that seriously all one sentence?!
  8. Whoa, nice angle on it. I really like it myself Just a few things. The nose is wierd; your shading makes it appear that it's a flat wedge instead of coming out of the face and it kinda ruins the 3D effect. Excellent job on the phone's details. Also the forehead seems a bit high but you know the reference, not me. Amazing job.
  9. Since a time long, long ago in a galaxy far, far away............. It works because not all people are the same height  On topic: I like it and the shading seems good. My opinion's been altered by Ter's but I agree that there are some anatomy problems but mostly It looks good. Keep up the good work.

Get a different background color other than white. I can tell that you shaded but I can't really see it that well because the whole pices is a bi too bright. Either up the contrast of the shading or darken the BG.
  11. It looks good and I like it but some areas just seem a bit flat and don't match the stroke pattern look of the rest of the piece (digipainting I assume?). Now, realize that I'm completely unexperienced at painting and such so you'll have to take my opinion with a grain of salt. Circled bits thingy I have absolutley no skills or programs to do this kind of thing so I just did a little circling and stuff on this. Excuse the bad handwriting; it wouldn't let me type text and I lack a tablet. On topic: The bits circled in green were areas that I felt needed a bit more blending because they looked flat. The edge of the hair and chest are fairly simple. The lips are fine for the most part but the edges of the lips need blending more than any other part IMHO. To me it looks cheaply pasted on and seems to almost float above the rest of the face. The lips also seem to be a shade too pink but you have the reference, not me :-k . Now, I'm no expert at artistic anatomy so I may be talking nonsense here :^o but, to me, the eyes don't seem to be located on the same part of the face. I tried to outline what appeared to be the nose to me in the yellow. What I noticed was that the distance between what I saw as the edge of the nose and the beginning of the eye was the same or larger for the right side (her left) of her face than for the left side. The problem sits in that the tilt and positioning of her head suggests the converse. Also with her eyes, the angles are different. In the red I tried to draw two lines parallel to the centerline of the face. Then I put in lines connecting the corners of her eyes. The eye on the right has a much larger tilt that the eye on the left (which is almost perpendicular to the centerline). The eyes also seem to be too differently sized for the amount of perspective involved but that's just my opinion, I don't really have anything to back it up. The visible shoulder seems to be a tad bit wide or the upper arm a bit too thin.
  12. Thanks for the c/c. Now that I look at it you're right; I've shaded it more like velvet than steel :-k.

They have almost the same name and he's not really pretending to be an entirely different person so I don't really think it matters that much. On topic: It looks pretty good but i feel like the renders need to be a little less clear and defined. The front (right) edge of the sig is good because it gives the illusion of depth but I think you need a bit more blending on the backside, especially with the dark of the background and the light of his skin. Just a little more blending on the backside and some smudging/blurring/whatever you call it on the body of the render to make it less defined and fit the rest of the sig better.
  14. Despite the emphasis on the word "waist" in your sig, it's misspelled on your first post; rather, you used the homophone. But still, you siggied me  . On topic: Interesting color choice and, lucky for you, it's an alien so I can't complain about anatomy  . A few tips, the colors seem just randomly swirled. Remember to choose a light source and color the object from that light source. Also, you have lots of messy outlines that look like you just used the pencil tool to make them. Look at this: Blend the colors with the alien's skin a bit and finish it up and it could turn out good. Oh, and anti-alias a bit. AAing is hard to describe so just google it or look at one of the many tutorials on this forum. Thanks to Ter for the pics; that tutorial is awesome \
  15. Pelvic thrust adventures!!!!
  16. OMG OMG OMG Star Trek spoof! I like this idea but I'll wait to see some others first.
  17. Not very good blending on the sigs and pxel stretch or whatever on the second one :XD:
  18. Yeah, many of you might not know me. Anyways, I'm kinda getting back into pixelling and I'm running short of ideas. Just give me an idea of what you want your sig/avatar to look like and I'll do my best to finish it; no guarantees. I'd prefer it not be the generic "me killing an abyssal demon pl0x!!1!" or wildy sigs or any Runescape sig really unless you convince me. Here are some examples of my work: Template Size: Characters: Location/Background: Lighter or darker colors?: Example:

I don't even think any of her waist is visible in this sig. On topic: It looks good but stuff is kinda blurry. I know that's what you were trying for but it's drving me insane because I keep on straining to see stuff that's partially hidden. Good job of blending though and the text really fits the sig IMO.
  20. :shame: Saved as a .jpg, topic is completely confusing and I fail to see the humor in it, partially because of the bad resolution of the image.
  21. Looks good but The guy in the lower right is still very flat looking. The castle walls are also really boring. I know that in castle wars there are stairs along the walls or maybe arrowslits or something.
  22. Remember, remember the fifth of November the Gunpowder Treason and plot I know of no reason the the Gunpowder Treason should ever be forgot Update on the neck area.
  23. Agreed, especially the part of the render where the guy's foot is cut off
  24. imhomer replied to RedRave's topic in Art and Media
Another "Git R" in red, BG is over the car again and bad blending. Please try something other than cars and "Git R". You've even used the same background for all you sigs that I've seen. Try something NEW.
  25. I don't think they're talking about the eyes themselves. The eyes are the right size; the irises are not.
