Dark Bow Review and Comparison
Alright thanks for the info. As I said my testing was really brief and a bit confusing due to everyone attacking guards with their new dark bows :XD: . I'll edit it with your data added. Even so it still is going to replace every other bow as a monster/pking/staking weapon on my opinion except where the situation calls for not picking up arrows. I hate to say this but I think it's going to be nerfed within the next week.

11 June 2007 - The Dark Bow~ 6:15 AM
I just had one for a short period of time (I bought it, didn't get it as a drop) and tested it out. My god this thing pwns. It's so powerful in fact that I know Jagex will nerf these in the weeks to come, which makes me sad cause range is the best skill ever. As much as you and I may hate it, we know it to be true.

Dark Bow Review and Comparison
The Dark Bow has went from about 60 mil this morning to about 5M as I speak. The prices on the forums appear to be dropping faster than those in world 2 for better or worse. I have compiled some pictures to compare the stat boost of the Magic Short Bow, Crystal Bow, and the Dark Bow for comparison. As You can see the Dark Bow has only 5 less point in its range boost compared to a FULL Crystal bow. That is important because a crystal bow degrades over time while a Dark bow doesn't. In addition the Dark Bow is almost as fast as a Mage Short Bow. According to some data from the Tip It Crew, the Dark Bow shoots twice (2 arrows each time) for every 5 Magic Short Bow Shots. This is equivalent to 4 arrows from the Dark Bow compared to 5 Arrows from the Mage Short Bow. While the Mage Short Bow is faster than the Dark Bow, the Dark Bow completely blows the Crystal Bows speed and power out of the water. The special is 2 twisting arrows that look like they are smoking striking at the opponent at a quicker rate than the normal animation. The arrows are GUARANTEED TO HIT and have a 30% CHANCE of hitting higher than your maximum hit. However if you have Dragon Arrows equipped the 30% becomes 50%. So let's review, the Dark Bow (w/ rune arrows) is as strong as a Crystal Bow, and as soon as you use Dragon Arrows (which aren't economicaly feasible at the moment) will completely outdamate and outspeed your opponent. CONCLUSIONS I forsee the price coming down very quickly from what I've seen today in the market. The Dark Bow will replace the Crystal Bow for all occasions where picking up arrows is not a problem. In terms of strength the Dark Bow will wipe out the Crystal Bow in a heartbeat. Let's not forget that awesome spec as well. At lower ranger levels 50% may not seem like a huge deal but it is at higher range levels where that is the equivalent of 25 more than your normal maximum hit. So far the highest maximum hit I've personaly seen is a 40-41 spec from a friend of mine with 99 Range, using a Range Pot, and Range Prayer, Ranger Set, Range Cape, Fury, ect. (ok you get it maximum range boost) I never thought I'd say this but Range is completely OP (overpowered) with the addition of this new bow and I'm not saying that in a bad way as range is my favorite combat style :)

Dark Bow will make Whips Price Drop?
Well it looks like everything that I predicted is totaly wrong. Not enough people like range so the price of the Darkbow is steady at 7m right now. And Santa and Other Rare prices have stayed the same due to the lack of demand for the darkbow.

Question About Santa Hat

Question About Santa Hat
How much lower do they have to be in your case? Oh and I'm up 31.6 mil now after selling my ranger set and merchanting a bit. So I'm hoping they will drop to 16M so I can get two of them. I get out of school on Tuesday and I might be able to merchant to about 35M by the time Dark Bows get out so I hope that will be enough.

Santa Or Blue Mask?
Masks will probably never get you a serious drop in your investmen, but they never really go up either, so it's more like I have it. It barely loses its value but barely gains any either. Santas are the exact opposite. Since they are very common. they are the first rares people sell when they need pokemon quick due to a new update or whatever that requires money. This means that they can drop very quickly but also rise very quickly. You just have to know when the drop periods will be to buy them low and then sell them high. Hint: The next drop period will probably be when the Dark Bow gets released. Buy whatever rare (regardless of which one) then to be able to get the lowest possible price.

Question About Santa Hat
Which means what I'm predicting to occur is already happening, so I'm very happy I sold them when they reached their peak, I got lucky I guess.
-
Question About Santa Hat
Yeah I just saw that too and was so happy that I sold mine before the drop. I knew I couldn't be the only one thinking about it but I thought they would come like 2 weeks before the release. D'oh #-o I'm such an idiot it is 2 weeks before the release lol. So yeah as expected prices are already dropping just because all the merchants want to sell their rares to do this. And that's not necesairly a bad thing as it will just push the prices of rares down even more :)

Question About Santa Hat
That's sorta what I was thinking. If it drops woopie I make some easy money. If not it doesn't matter as the price would stay the same, I don't really see a major [bleep]e occuring due to an event anytime soon, unless DK wanted to buy out every single santa he could find.

Question About Santa Hat
Alright well I just sold it to the guy who offered med 21.6 and from what I've been reading I think I did the right thing. If Darkbows even only make santas drop one mil, I still get one mil easy by doing next to nothing :) If Santa prices don't drop at all, doesn't matter as I can just by another one back since the forums have them for around 21.4-ish. Hoping they drop to 14 Million as that would allow me to buy a second onem but I think it's almost unrealistic to think they would drop that much so I'll be happy with a nice 1 or 2 million drop.

Question About Santa Hat
Alright well I've had a santa hat for a short while and I'm not sure what to do at the moment. I bought it for 21.1 Million GP, and I can sell it for around 21-22 (let's say 21.6 as I've gotten it as anoffer). Concerning the new slayer range item coming out (The Dark Bow) I'm thinking people might dump their rares because everyone has to have the "new item" so rare prices would fall, and I would be able to pick up another santa for cheap. Does that seem like a viable option. I know it's not guaranteed to happen but is it logical where I'm coming from. When they introduced certain updates such as new skills (construction) rare prices fell an awful lot. When they introduced Skill Capes, people needed a lot of money to buy supplies for a 99 stat so they sold their rares and the prices dropped. When New Treasure Items came out everyone had to have them and rare prices dropped. Which I believe this update will not cause prices to drop as extreme as these above listed, I think it will have a similair affect. Much to my dismay, not all that many people like range but I'm counting on the fact that enough of the upper class want one. Even if I rare prices only dropped by say 3 million, I'll still be happy as that would be what I've profited from selling my santa early. Any suggestions on if I should sell my santa now and hope for the above occurence, or is what I'm saying completely wrong and that the rare prices had nothing with the new updates. Or will it be either or? Sort of a debat I guess, but then again I really want an answer to this, so it's still a question. Answers will just vary due to different point of views.

Good luck on 99 Range. Currently going for 90 range myself, though I'm moderating the time I spend on rs to a minimum. Nice Phat as well :)

Wow nice stats. On-topic: Sorry, I have no idea since I don't have 65 slayer yet. Try to world hop a bit and look for crowded worlds so you can see what other archers do.

The way to a santa
Hmm or he could start runecrafting natures. It will get him a fairly respectable runecrafting as well.

rares
I'd say either Santa or Red Mask. Of the masks there is a hierarchy where one is always above the other, well it is implied that the "though of one of them costing more" should have a similiar effect of the other costing more. But since the red mask has a higher base value it has more potential to go higher. The hierarchy is fixed as way too many people believe mentaly their values to be stacked like that, regardless of which they like better.

Ranger Set Inflation - Temporary or Permanent?
To what extent we sadly can't predict. If only I knew if they would slowly revert to the old pricing or if this will become the new standard price in which I would be bummed that I could have gotten it so and so months ago for the same price but didn't.

Ranger Set Inflation - Temporary or Permanent?
I'm thinking of buying a ranger set. I know the price doesn't justify the bonus' as there are much cheaper alternative however I like the look so lets just forget that aspect. Due to a recent rumour about robin hood hats becoming discontinued merchant bought up a lot of the robin hood hats looking to make a huge profit when they became discontinued and raise in price. As ranger boots were directly related to the robin hood hat they shot up as well. However Jagex denied this rumour stating that they had no intention of making them discontinued anywhere in the near future. People unaware of the rumour at all just viewed this as a price inflation of robin hood hats and continued buying them from the merchants who now wanted to get rid of their stockpiles. However they didn't want to lose money, in fact they saw they could still make it as they owned the majority of the hats that were in exchange (as in ppl who trade them a lot not who keep them in bank forever). They still sold them strong for a while at 4.9 and since then it has leveled of at 4.5 (for the robin) and 6.7 for the set. I expected the price to gauge back to its origonal price but that seems to not be the case. I am asking whether you believe the robin hood hat will decrease in price over time to the befor-hand price (3.6-3.8) or whether you think this new price standard will stick. I'm thinking of buying one but do not know if I should buy it now, and then have my item be worth less in a few months cause I bought it earlier. Or if price will be the same and I'll know I could have enjoyed having a robin for the past few months.

Agility potion for regicide?
i did it at 56 and it was easy.
-
bank the tickets or use the tickets
I went from 42-56 in a day there. Get blocks of 100 and then use them at 100 NO LESS. Bring about 3-4 Agility Pots (4) so you can start doing darts and spinning blades without fail.

Max Range Bonus
Not too sure about this but isn't the 3rd age coif better than the Robin Hood Hat? ....even though the robin hood hat is way sexy
