  1. Grrrr. They didn't have it at Blockbuster last week  I really wanted to see it too. I might just go ahead and buy it, since I do want to see it.
  2. Ummmm...The teachers made you go to school on a weekend day? I don't think they can make you go... And there was what I believe to have been a bomb threat at my school last year. Everyone knew it wasn't real though, we were all walking at a regular pace and charging back into the school (it was the end of the day, we all wanted our stuff so we could go home). The teachers were flippin' out, excellent fun.
  3. I watched Flightplan. Man was this slow...The first half was supposed to be about building tension and confusion...And I never felt the least bit tense at all (atleast in most bad thrillers you get some feeling of tension -not here)...The second half was the standard action bit: the victim becomes almost superhuman in being able to plan out the perfect order of actions, and then commit them unimpeded by the villain (who is obvious from the very beginning, btw)...This movie was only 98 minutes long, but it felt far longer. Also, they didn't fully explain a few key elements, and it felt as if there were some racist undertones (the director ever has you believe that Arab terrorists are on the plane and they are trying to hijack it). This really made me wonder why 10 days after it's release there was a huge line-up to reserve a copy of it on DVD, (so I actually ended up getting it the following weekend [this weekend]) and that a few less mainstream movie sit on the shelves (and as I've already stated, they lack many of the classics). I'd definately not suggest this. However, the movie Red Eye is alarmingly similar (with Rachel McAdams being much easier on the eyes, and actual feelings of tension) and it does what it should far better than this. Red Eye was pretty good popcorn entertainment :).
  4. I seen war of the worlds,Yep very good filem. Errr...Hmmm...That wasn't my point at all.
  5. I watched War of the Worlds for the first time. It looked great, there was awesome effects, and lots of style. You could tell it was a big-budget pic, and there was amazing special effects. There was also a few cool scenes. But deep down this is a bad movie. So many questions unanswered even at the end (that they seemed to tip-toe around), and every now and again someone would come along who would seemingly have all the answers, but with no apparent way of having found them out. The acting was lame (Tim Robbins was alright I guess), Dakota Fanning was very annoying, it dragged on, and then ended so abruptly...There was no feeling at all. I donno, maybe it's the fact I have been watching all classic dramas lately, but this seemed even more shallow than other pop-corn type alien flicks...Signs was far superior to this, Independance Day also I'd say.

Oh dang, I hope that they don't start doing that for all new games...That would just annoy me.
  7. What are the names of these books? I might seek them out. Oh yea, and my local Blockbuster is really starting to get annoying; these are the movie's I've gone to get and they didn't have: Spartacus Taxi Driver Magnolia (they actually have this on VHS) The Third Man and the last 3 I've tried to get in the last few weeks... But I did get American History X for this week. :)

BAHAHAHAH. AHAHAHAHA. Thanks for posting this, though I woulda found it soon [i've been doing math for the last 6 hours, haven't been on the comp all day...:(] But why I'm laughing - sooooo many posts on this forum, but mostly other specifically gaming forums (even more specifically, PC gaming forums) that said it would never happen. And all the Xbox fanboys and fanboyesses, said Halo 2 would never come to PC... But now there is no reason anyone would ever get an Xbox... *runs off to rub this in faces of all humans* BTW, I'm not gonna get it. Halo 1 was one of the worst PC games I've ever played (and I'm not even joking, the single player was terrible, and the multiplayer was alright, but most of the time far too laggy to be worth playing). So yeah, :).

But it's only in frist person for 2 minutes.
  10. You know, that's exactly what I was always thinking. And I've never seen the Pianist...but I might at some point.
  11. Some of you are so lucky, it actually talks intelligently to you. I had a brief conversation with it, and only a few of the answers made sence. I occassionally would ask it a question about something and it would completely change the subect and start a new conversation...It was rather annoying, maybe it's the way I worded it wierded it out.
  12. I eat my toast w/ peanut butter (melted). I like it so that it is nice and crisp, and if it cools down I start hurting people.
  13. I knew this was coming. I saw this exact thing on a different forum...And I didn't click because I read the replies. People got extremely annoyed and starting really blasting the guy... I'm surprised everyone here is so nice. Since it really isn't funny :?

Woot! I would say it was pretty good. They seemed to have way dumbed it down for those who don't wish to think/haven't played the game. Other than the fact that there was a "Doom Guy" or sorts, a "Sarge", it being on Mars and fighting IMP's, there was little connecting the movie to the game(s)...The story was way different...It was pretty good though, decent action flick... I kinda wanted more from The Rock+Doom...It didn't achieve what it should have. Oh yeah, and the First-Person type thing DID work...I thought it was excellent. And plus, why does everyone always mention that when they think of the movie? It was only in first person for like a minute and a half (of amazing action!!!) But I guess it did make more buzz for the movie... So - I'll watch the movie again, but probably won't buy it, atleast for a while.
  15. I actually got a kick out of it, and it was big at my school (everyone seemed to watch it) and I enjoyed it pretty good for a while. But once you see them doing the same events over and over and over, it gets kinda boring (kinda REALLY boring). I haven't watched it in a long time.
  16. What's a Gerkin? :? Oh yeah, and if you guys knew what went on in a McDonald's kitchen already, you wouldn't tempt them to make it worse...
  17. Not if Chuck Norris is playing :P I am Chuck Norris, silly. :P
  18. I watched North by Northwest...It was alright, definately too long (2:15?, rediculous!)...Relatively engulfing, fairly well written, but never particularly satisfying...A pretty good movie. It furthered my thought that Alfrad Hitchcock makes good movies, but not necessarily great movies...Well actually Vertigo was pretty good... I also watched Memento a few days ago. AMAZING. It had so much style, and when I looked on IMDB and saw that it was Nominated for 2 Oscars, I immediately knew which 2: Writing and Editing. This movie would have been alright had it been told in a linear way, but with the jump-all over the place story, and the quick-as-lightning scene edits, it really gets you confused and enthralled...I was understanding the story for about half, then I sorta got a bit behind, so I had to rewatch a scene or two (which is annoying, but my tendency to not pay close enough attention, and my general poor hearing [though the former was the case in this movie {old-school movies often have worse quality, so I often have to rewind to hear what they said...}]leads to misunderstandings). I kinda got the twist a while through, but I think it was on purpose that they tell you, as sort of dramatic irony...or a reward for those that are paying attention or thinking well (you really have to be thinking when you watch this movie). Still, I didn't get all the aspects of the twist, it was really clever. GREAT EDITING, and exceptional use of varying times. The whole guy-on-phone thing was also clever and cool... The second thing I noticed was that this movie was really stylish...it really made the 'cooler'. And while I didn't particularly enjoy Guy Pearce in L.A. Confidential, I thought he was awesome here. Oh man...I got sidetracked typing this post...I attempted to see how much money Guy Pearce made for this movie, then I tried finding the budget for Memento...I found what camera Memento was filmed with, and googled that a while...Looking at cameras. When googling that I found a thing that showed you how to make an independant film...Then on that site I searched for other interesting things...And other sites for other interesting things...That was an hour and a half ago.
  19. The ironing is delicious.
  20. I will win the Super Bowl.
  21. Mine=ATI X300 SE...it's 128MB Direct3D compatible I'm pretty sure though...Since it's officially supported on most other games...But when I get a job in the summer I'll take up a few extra long shifts one week or something, and get a new one hopefully.

the 'inaccuracies' are there to let those in the audience who don't know the story of William Wallis understand it more clearly, Mel Gibson would of had to imbellish parts and leave parts out to make the overall movie flow better and balance in all, I doubt the actually story would have been as intersting to watch if it was 100% true to real life, Im sure Mel gibson didn't simply make it all up. :) And I don't think theres anything wrong with making a lil bit of money  Well, seeing as how Mel Gibson didn't write it...Yeah...
  23. Here's the specs for Oblivion: I meet everything in the minimum. My processor almost matches the maximum. Only problem is my graphics card isn't officially supported, so it may play wierd, or I may need a new one.
  24. Exactly what I was about to say... And people immediately go  when they see graphics...They don't remember that it's going to take an $8000 computer to run...Or that it won't come out for 2-3 years while technology catches up. Looks and sounds pretty cool though. I think it's cool how you can ride beasts...
  25. Mr_Putter replied to Dilts36's topic in Off-Topic
I found it surprisingly poor. Not even in my top 100 movies. And I don't even know of the historical inaccuracies. It was just...Not good, at all. And Mel Gibson was not great in it. I'm not a fan of him, but I've seen him do better.
