  1. I noticed ranging my new max is 359 instead of 35 with the same equipment and stats, so I like that I get the bonus little bit from this update.
  2. I didn't start playing on my pure till after the 6 months, and that was basically just cause I was stoned all the time and wanted something to [bleep] around with.
  3. Back in September I grew tired of the game and decided maybe it was time to be done with it. You are kind of left with the question, "Well what else am I going to do with my time?" People will say to just "get a life" but who actually spends all of their time out and about with friends. When I decided just to try with a week off at first (I completely cleaned out my bank and bought 3rd age on my accounts) it went well, I felt like trying to do more and of course that helps when you are able to hang out with roommates (and after a couple weeks I got a girlfriend). I just stayed off as long as I wanted to, which lasted about 6 months, and even now that I am back I don't play on my main, I just mess around on my pure a bit. If you really want to quit you don't need a reason really, it is healthier to quit, sure take that one. Try taking a break, clean your bank out a bit to make it harder to come back, and see how long it lasts.
  4. I agree but Jagex would care. /profit Really they would barely lose any players, so many say they are going to quit but most don't. Jagex is raking in over $10,000,000 a month off subscriptions, I doubt they are going to worry about maybe $50,000.
  5. Children freaking out over an update, this has never happened before! Jagex isn't going to change it back so if they really want to quit then they should sign off and never come back. I wouldn't mind losing a few thousand immature kids personally.
  6. They have taken down several servers to test the communication between each server post update, after 10 minutes or so they are planning on updating the rest and releasing it to all worlds at once. They also plan to have this all done within the next 30 minutes so it is coming... soon. They plan on getting pizza afterwards aswell :)
  7. Not really, when they abuse the game they void their agreement with Jagex and they have the right to release players names (not their real names) as they please. Tbh they exploited a huge bug, and did it knowingly so they deserve what they get.
  8. It is nice to have Jagex publicize one of these, it has been a while since they made it clear what was going on to punish these glitchers. Although I am surprised to see that these are the top 10 (I was expected a few more higher players), it is nice for them to have given us numbers. The most shocking one as most people will probably find is Player #4 with a huge 1004 days of play time, this is over 3 years ingame, assuming they played regularily that is still atleast a 6/7 year old account with over 24,000 hours of in-game play, was it really worth it to lose your account over a few million gp in bolts that were unsellable? I know personally even though I have quit my main I would not want it to be banned with the 275 days of play time I have on it (1/4 of what this other player had).
  9. The recent cheating that occurred and the abuse of an exploit has been dealt with very seriously. We have excellent systems in place to catch and detect players who abuse bugs and have taken appropriate measures. We have now banned 68 accounts PERMANENTLY, with another 48 receiving temporary bans. There are a further 117 accounts which have been temporarily banned while undergoing further investigation. These will be dealt with very shortly. To give you some idea of the players involved, here are the ten highest-level players banned so far (based on total skill level): 2,376 total level (520 days of in-game time) 2,308 total level (477 days of in-game time) 2,210 total level (365 days of in-game time) 2,179 total level (1,004 days of in-game time) 2,131 total level (394 days of in-game time) 2,105 total level (202 days of in-game time) 2,102 total level (274 days of in-game time) 2,096 total level (448 days of in-game time) 2,022 total level (337 days of in-game time) 2,021 total level (275 days of in-game time) We’d like to remind everyone that using macros and abusing bugs is NOT tolerated under any circumstances, and we will ban ANY accounts that have been cheating. 10. Got the points for this yesterday and then had to get 52 crafting so I could actually make it :P Full Slayer Helm on pure. They have fixed it so it works on non-slayer monster tasks, and atm I can hit 31 without potions or pray, and 35 with potion (all with broad bolts).
  11. 98 range on my pure, next task will get me full slayer helm.
  12. A single scroll won't get very good rates around here, especially since the Lesser Demon scroll is one of the most common, I have gotten 3 in a single task before and over 10 all together back when I used to get them for slayer. Goodluck with getting more of the scrolls in the future.
  13. It wasn't fake, and the person who figured it out made approx 7.5B. Stupid thing to do seeing as now he will probably just get banned, but maybe he will do some people a favor and buy a ton of 3a or something and let it dissapear.
  14. inset that lame? one of my friends had maybe 8 tasks and already 9 staffs... he even had a 3 staff task.. and Jagex said there drop rate is that of a whip.. I'm not seeing it i have never gone this long w/o a good drop. From 85-95 slayer I averaged a whip about ever 13 tasks (yes I know, terrible luck,) but after that I started to get 1-2 per task and a max of 4 in one task. It is all luck.
  15. It would be like I didn't get an update at all then... That is if, however, the dark bow recoloring is the only update they do that day. Given the recent updates (Familiarisation, Implings) I wouldn't be surprised if that's all we get. The constant "wasted" updates are really getting to me. First with the Strykewyrms, I never get any assigned, and the Staff of Light is going for 60m+ on the street, then Familiarisation, now these implings that have no real use in catching. If I see an update day that says "New Dark Bow Recoloring!" on the homepage, and nothing else, I might just explode. Jagex wasted the opportunity to make some awesome looking items (recolored lunar, crystal bow, etc.) for a dark bow, which is only really benefiting merchants at this point. Unless the new colors are really that beautiful, but then, it give merchants more of a reason to hoard the bows. I'm really into having a good looking outfit on Runescape, and the fact that I missed such a good opportunity just because those bastard merchants wanted a few extra (virtual) bucks is really a downer. Strikewyrms can be assigned just as often as any other task, its not like they are going to give you 50% strikewyrms just because they were just released, it is making them so they are uncampable and that is good. I doubt they would release the colouring update on its own, they normally don't do updates THAT small. You have to keep in mind though last year we got our updates in a large package once a month and everyone [bleep]ed and complained non-stop for them to bring back weekly updates, and now they have to split that one big update into small portions to keep the kiddies interested. The impling update was nice for a lot of people that enjoy hunting the imps, the minigame was kind of dead so this bring life back into it, also brings in a new outfit and increased experience for the imps you catch. The fact that you can now catch imps with your hands is also very useful because now you don't need to carry the imp stuff on you, or bank when you see a decent imp fly by.
  16. That's pretty condescending... I just get frustrated when people vote for the Dark Bow just because they want to get profit off of it. I hope they also allow recoloring to some untradable items too. People always try and profit off of updates, it's really get me pissed. It's like merchants are denying other players their fun just because they want to make a profit. Updates that revolve around buyable items are bad enough, but when you give merchants a heads up, it's almost assuring that nobody else gets their fun unless A. They spent hundred(s) of hours to get the slayer level to get dark bows themselves - or B. Already had one of the worthless pieces of crap. I really don't like updates that I can't enjoy thanks to merchant clans. Especially when this all could have been avoided if a non-tradable item was voted to be colorable. Honestly, dark bows are ugly. Crystal bows, lunar equipment, hell even pet rocks, would have looked better colored. The fact that I don't get them recolored AND I have to pay through the nose to enjoy the update (as if I would even enjoy it if I got one of the bleeding [cabbage]sticks) really, really gets me annoyed. If you don't have a dark bow, then obviously you don't need one, so it doesn't effect you either way. Personally I did vote for inifinty, just because it is a set, and it looks nice to start with but a boost in its appearance would have been nice. There is absolutely nothing we or jagex can do to counter-act updates effecting the price of items so there is no use in complaining about it. Each update is not designed to be directed to the whole Runescape player base either, these past 6 months have been primarily directed towards high-leveled content, so people are going to be left out, but it will give them something to aim for.
  17. Cheefoo124 you say that people ruin the updates because they buy out the items, and use the SoL as an example, but the SoL should be bought out, it is highly wanted. If you think an update only has to do with the items then you are very badly mistaken. If you wanted to truely experience the update then you should have gone an killed the monsters and gotten your own drops (although I know your stats aren't anywhere close to being able to get a SoL.) That update was intended as a high leveled slayer update, not as just some little magic update. As far as the darkbow goes this is a great solution, they will be waiting quite a while to release the new darkbow, and they will crash before they come out most likely. Say the bow stablizes at 3M (double its current price), this is way better than it being released, and being bought out for a month afterwards. The fact that Jagex is giving us a heads up is making it so that on release day people will have a much greater chance at getting the items, or have longer to try and get the items before hand. Dark Beasts are going to be a great source of money for the next while bringing life back into a task which some people dread.
  18. Where do you sumbit articles to? My recent forum thread has had many people post on it telling me to submit it to the times.
  19. 97 Range on my pure, I was killing fledglings which give no exp (but what im forced to do for daggs tasks) and decided to go up the ladder to get the 3k I needed for 97 range :)
  20. My Guthix, thats' quite a fortune, who's quitting? Zezima? Edit: Is that an arcane? Yes it is an Arcane, and I find it nice when people do drop parties like this rather than getting rid of like 1 phat or a few small rares. More people get items this way and its nice that each person there gets a few mill (assuming they can click).
  21. Good job spamming then? If you act like an idiot here, then people will call you an idiot. Simple as that.
  22. 150-200 points is a joke for someone with 93 slayer. On the release day there were people spending thousands of points skipping tasks just go to the Ice Strikewyrms. Between 70 and 93 slayer you would get over 9500 points, it should take atleast 1/10 of that to unlock the Ice Strikewyrms, I think a reasonable amount would be about 1k points (40 tasks).
  23. Are you pointing out that you cant crop, or that you make broad assumptions about people based on 1 piece of equipment they are wearing? Maybe he likes the cape, maybe it means something to him, you don't know.
  24. Easily 100m street It is worth nothing now since you imbued it. You can un-imbue it. Well then yah its worth like 80-100M street, don't count on it staying that high for too long though.
