best sheild
Crystal shield full has 80 ranged defense, but crystal shield 6/10 ties the DFS with 72, and then continues to drop as it degrades. Since you have no choice but to let it fully degrade, you're looking at lower defense for more than half of the time, plus spending money to recharge. The DFS is the clear victor in the long term.

PC still the fastest way to train melee stats?
Seriously. Always train combat with slayer, unless you are killing green dragons or aviansies to make money or something like that. You will regret your low slayer level and all that extra training you have to do later, and besides, training slayer is a whole lot more fun than camping at one monster because of the variety. Why? Why train combat from slayer if you want fast experience. Slayer isn't the be all, end all of training, slayer is not the god-like skill it is made out to be. Is it the variety? Big deal, you get the same 5 tasks day in and day out. Is it the fact that you can make money from it? Well, using a cannon and only about 8k cannon balls, I've not made any money from slayer. Sure, you get those abbyssal whips and dragon boots, but how practical is that for making money? You could much faster make money and train combat by power-training and runecrafting. One more thing, why should you care about slayer level if the only thing good about it is the total level from it? Is it for the respect of getting the cape? Phaw! Who cares about some stupid cape and why should I respect you for training slower than other people, but getting another skill up that helps you in no way after you've stopped training it? If you train just for the skillcape in a skill, you are, quite frankly, an idiot who doesn't even deserve to have level 2 in that skill. The only reason I would train slayer would be for charms. Quite simply, you have no clue what you're talking about, being 71 slayer. The exp from slayer is almost as quick as powertraining because of the black mask, AND you get to do it on monsters that actually drop things (unlike wasting time at bandits or monkeys, which drop absolutely nothing). Also, when you get a little bit more mature, I'm sure you'll recognize the wisdom in training slayer to high levels (won't you feel silly when the level 95 slayer monster comes out and all of us people who "trained slower than other people" make millions off it?), and training slayer is much more miserable when you have maxed out your melees, which WILL happen before 99 slayer, probably before 90 slayer. If you want that melee exp so quick now, you're just setting yourself up to be miserable when you want that slayer exp later.

Summoning advice
Try to use gold and green charms until you can make at least bloated leeches, they're a waste before that. Save the blues for quite a while.

what is a bug?
A software bug is something in a program not doing what it is supposed to do. For example, a while back somebody managed to use a bug in player owned houses to go and kill many people in Falador. He wasn't supposed to be able to attack people there, but he could anyway.

Full naval?
Not sure about the others, but the answer to 2 is yes. It's on the world list, hit Ctr + F and type in trouble brewing.

PC still the fastest way to train melee stats?
Oh man, another "how best can I waste my time by separating combat and slayer training" thread. It is SUCH A BAD IDEA to go powertrain combat. Seriously. I didn't powertrain at all, and I STILL maxed my melees at 89 slayer. You will regret camping someplace with no drops and no melee exp later- melee is NOT that hard to train.

Blue charms...
No you don't... I usually, but not always, end up with 30. I have NEVER had 40 in one task. Anyway, dark beasts are (pathetically) the best blue charm dropper I've ever encountered. There's also gargoyles, kalphites (especially the guardians), aberrant specters and wallasalskis, all of which have been mentioned here.

What to range + get crimson charms?
Fastest charms while ranging- waterfiends (by a LOT). Fastest charms while getting good ranged exp- black demons (ranged exp is over twice as fast as fiends, but charms per hour is less than half). I've spent a lot of time figuring this out, and can say with certainty that greater demons, cockroaches, nechryael and dust devils are all inferior; they all have negligible differences in ranged exp to black demons, and drop less crimsons. Dust devils are especially poor if you have void for the other options (which I do).

What's a fast way to collect limpwurt roots?
Ah, well I have fairy rings for that, so its not an issue for me. Except that there's no good teleport to a fairy ring (except the slayer ring, which has revolutionized the way I use fairy rings). With the ring you could make much much faster runs than using glories to use the one in edgeville. They're also cheap if you can make them, which is one of the very best things to do with slayer points.

What's a fast way to collect limpwurt roots?
Cockatrice drop them frequently, and are especially good with a ring of slaying. What do you need them for? If you just want super strength, it's cheaper to buy the potions than use the ingredients. If you want herblore exp, I'm pretty sure there are better money/exp ratios. If you're a DIY skiller, my advice was always going to be useless (except the part about cockatrice).

Ranging Waterfiends
I don't know if they removed the safespot or not, I just got back from backpacking for a week. If it's still there though, waterfiends get over twice as many charms/hour, plus better drops, than black demons. I would suggest getting full void ranged for killing waterfiends. Not only is it great against them defensively, but you'll get faster kills. To survive the ten minutes (I timed it) until they stop being aggressive, just bring along some monkfish, or sara brew and super restore if your defense is low.

Tip.It Times Presents: Grand Exchange - Help or Hindrance?
I'm not sure what the point of this article is. He spends a lot of time talking about how merchants hated the GE at first, which is true. However, he never mentioned the resolutions to this issue that made everyone accept the GE- junk trades and investing. The GE DOES have merchanting, at least as much as before. The article raises valid points and then just leaves them sitting there without saying anything about them.

That puzzle was weird... I remember randomly clicking it to see what I could do to it, and it just told me I had solved it lol. As such, I don't really have any useful advice on it except keep clicking

If you bring Guthans (oh yeah that armor set everyone said was outclassed and worthless now) and a bunyip and food you should be able to stay for quite a while.

Really? You went all the way into Morytania to the edge of Runescape and the amulet still said east? Just keep walking. There is more east left than you walked, I promise.

How do I kill tanglefoot as mage?
My farming was much higher when I did that quest, though admittedly I was much higher in melee too. It's possible that your farming is just too low to hurt it period.

Why is noone responding?
Lol yeah, what we need is another 20 noobs taking up an LS world while they struggle to kill Bandos without using up their monkfish too quickly #-o The RSOF events forum is awesome for finding GWD teams. They have stickies where you can look and see the latest unfilled teams and contact them, or make your own if that's what you want to do.

Practice 99?
Mining is significantly different to fishing and woodcutting (which are clones of each other) because there is only one ore per rock (unless we're talking about essence, which is the same thing as fishing and woodcutting again). You like fishing and woodcutting because they both are "click on object, read forum until object changes state, click on next object, repeat" skills. Smithing and cooking are another clone, though slightly different because you can make more than one thing out of one bar. Fletching, herblore and crafting are EXACTLY the same thing in most cases, they involve repeatedly withdrawing items from the bank and using do-X to process them without moving. Crafting can also be like cooking if you're making bracelets and such. I would be amazed if somebody liked woodcutting but not fishing, or vice versa, for any reason other than which makes more profit or something like that. They're the same action.
-
Practice 99?
Yes, because fishing and woodcutting are TOTALLY DIFFERENT. Cooking, fletching, smithing, crafting, herblore and all those do-X skills have NOTHING IN COMMON. Seriously, most skills are the same basic idea.

Gold mining vs yew chopping.
Not really, at 83 wc with a dragon axe (at rimmington with the availabilitty of rimmington bank) I coudl do around 200-250 logs an hour.. making a bit less than 90k an hour! Now for f2p this would be a lot less! 250 an hour? i cut mages faster than u cut yews  wow you must have some magical way to cut faster then: no time logs/hour! 168 2808.69 215.3317027 307 5187.28 213.0596382 307 5180.24 213.3491885 307 5020.5 220.1374365 307 5064.95 218.2055104 avaraging around 216 logs/hour! [/hide] what does that table even mean. But OT id says mining, wc gets very tedious. The table means that you chop magics a lot faster than most people claim to. Mining gold is much much faster money than yews. It also takes more attention.
