  1. One day I did this one about 6 times in a row with my rl friends. I decided to turn my private chat to off, and hope that they would forget about it by the time we got to school the next day.
  2. Look at it this way: to get spotted furs, you need 43 hunter. To use those furs you only need 40 hunter. To get dark furs you need 57 hunter. To use those furs you only need 54 hunter. To get spottier furs you need 69 hunter, but to use those furs you only need 66 hunter. See a pattern? If you didn't, you always need 3 more hunter levels to get the fur than to use it. The hunter potion gives you 3 termporary hunter levels. You only need temperary levels to get furs, but to use them you need permanent levels. A big coincidence? Or something done on purpose by Jagex? You decide.
  3. I like that idea! It would be fun to see a new and interesting login-screen every time you log in.
  4. Interesting you flame someone for playing a game longer then you.. Jelous much? You lose respect for someone for using the wrong name.. And giving credit to someone she already got the info from.. Pretty sad that someone mispelling your name and not getting credit for everything makes you sad.. I appreciate Socc for this information and putting it together.. Don't need to flame... you made yourself look bad enough first of all i eamtn he no life hunting second it is pretty sad to mispell a name that wrong and a name that is so easy i would understand if it was like d3k895j1f4 third i posted before him forth nice flaming there fifth let me just rewrite the last sentences and almost last of all its jealous not jelous and socc masta if you rewrite my name i will happyly remove both of these posts(atleast the text) and when i mean that atleast write dragondan..... Cool down, no reason to get angry over nothing. Its not like Socc is insulting you by mis-spelling your name, if it really matters to you just say it nicely: Just because you are in a bad mood doesn't mean you flame someone. And yes, it was you who started the flaming, not anyone else.
  5. It would be cool if there were a lot of interesting login-screens, and one was randomly chosen when you went to log in. Kind of like homestarrunner if anyone knows what that is.
  6. I tried that! So far, through about 8 trades I have acquired: 3gp, leather chaps, leather body, 2 air talismans. I hope to sell the air talismans in world 16 to someone who forgot one. Anyone feel free to add e66bert.
  7. wow, nice guide! More pictures would be helpful, though.
  8. LOL Being perfectly agile in ful armor. The most poweful person is not named Zezima. Dragon is not a real metal.
  9. 2 mimes: mime gloves, legs, and climb rope emote 1 Drill Demon: camo legs 2 Freaky Foresters: Legs and shirt 2 Frogs
  10. Wow, that's very similar to what I did. This was my scheme: While mining, someone asked me to get them 200 silver ores. He would pay me 10k for them. So i thought, "Wow! 10k! (the most I ever had was about 500gp)". So, I mined 200 silver ore. It took about 3 days. But before I could sell them to him, my family dragged me off on a family vacation. Of course, there was no internet access. So then when I get back I Pm the person who was going to buy from me, and he said, "Silver is for noobs, I'm a member now. Members use gold." So instead, I made 200 strung synbols. Then, I planned to get all the way to level 31 prayer to get into the monastery. (OMG! 31 prayer  ! I was combat level 13 and ~30 mining at the time) But I never made it until this year, when I really started playing RS. Also, I remember when I would mine 13 copper and 13 tin in varrock east mine (took about 5 minutes!), walk to Lumbridge to smelt into 13 bronze bars, and then make full bronze from that and give it to level 3's. I thought to myself, "I'm so nice, I give armor to noobs!" But really, I was the noob. Again, I remember when I was very low level, and I saw someone named Andrew. I though, "OMG he's so lucky to get his first name as his username" and " :) Cool, he has the same name as me (in rl)". Then I told my brother," I saw someone with the same name as me in RS!" "Atronic?", he said. "No, Andrew". Noob, that the creator of the game." Me:
  11. Cool, I thought that no one noticed those! I have played vertigo a bit (I think that's the name of the one where you paint the floor in space) and it was pretty fun.
  12. I agree completely, banks are very useful. I remember loving the idea when they first came out. My brother said "Why would you need banks? Just carry arouns everything that you need!"
  13. extra 12 spaces of bank space a loooong time ago. It will never happen again. :(
  14. somewhere on the official forums, someone posted this story: He was chopping yews, and someone's dragon axe broke. So, the other person banked to empty his inventory to make room for the axe head, but the first guy snatched it up. Then he bought an axe handle for 30k, and was able to attach them for a cool d wc axe.
  15. I don't know what to answer... recently I have had a lot of cash, but sometimes I spend it all on a skill, knowing that when I complete a task, such as making 3k yew longbows, or 8k cannonballs, that I will make it back and then some. So I will have to say $CASH$.
  16. My name used to be fine, but a few months ago, jagex started censoring my name. In RS, atronic92 = atron**92. Funny thing is, atronic is uncensored. So whenever I buy in world 1 or 2, I say "buying XXX - XXXgp - atronic". But then I thought, what if I meet another atronic, and someone doesn't know who to trade?
  17. Additional tip: While smelting, it is good to know that the closest furnace to a bank is in Port Phasmatys (sp?). All you need to wear is a ghost speak amulet. Also, when you smelt steel, you have 9 iron and 18 coal per inventory. This is only 27 inventoy spots, so if you put a cannonball mould in the 28th spot, you can make cannonballs at the same time. Only thing is, it takes a long time to make cannonballs. Your character goes through a long process of melting the steel, pouring it into the moud, letting it cool, etc. :? But, in the end, canonballs can be sold in quantities of 1k+ for 180 each. And because each steel bar makes 4 cannonballs, each steel bar worth of cannonballs is worth 720 gp! So, by buying 2k coal for 180ea (360k) and 1k iron for 100 each (100k), by spending a lot of time and effort of clicking, you turn 460k in 720k, a 260k profit! Also, you get 55 experience per steel bar, so 55k XP in total. Summary: Turn 2k coal and 1k iron into 4k cannonballs making a profit of 260k gp and 55k smithing XP!
  18. Nice guide! I hope that it will improve the quality of pictures on TIF by removing white space. Suggestion: save images in .png format. Png's have better quality in less space.
  19. Thanks for the help with experience. It looks like my table is only off regarding fletching experience earned from cutting a few of the gems. Its not a particularly important error, so I'll change it next time I updated the guide.
  20. that is an option, but the idea behind cutting them into bolt-tips is not to make bolts, but to make you not bank as often. Still, fast trading sticks is a good idea.
  21. I have now expanded the guide, adding an experience table and suggesting to use a glory amulet.
  22. Thank you for the feedback :D. I'm happy to see that it's mostly postive. But then again the constuctive criticism helps even more. Anyway, I am aware of the problems that have been addressed, and I do plan to add more to the guide when I get home from school today. By the way, this is the first guide I've made.
  23. Shilo Gem Mining Shilo gem mining is a fun way to level up your mining, crafting, and fletching. It might not be the fastest experience, but it is fun, you make a little bit of money, and best of all, it gives you a lot of time to read the forums. :D Requirements: To get into Shilo Village it is required that you complete the Shilo Village quest. To use the Ardougne teleport, it is required that you complete the Plague City quest, and have a magic level of at least 51. You need 40 mining to mine gem rocks. I suggest that you have at least 20 crafting and 56 fletching to cut and fletch at least sapphires. Details about experience: Each time you mine a gem rock, you get 65 mining experience. each time that you mine all 7 gem rocks you get 455 mining experience ** 1) Making Preparations Before you even head to the Shilo village, or before you even log onto RuneScape, there are some preparations that you must make. First, make sure that you are on a full or nearly full world. The more people in a world, the faster rocks respawn. But, make sure that you are the obnly person mining gem rocks on the world you are on, or it is not worth it at all. I suggest trying worlds 6, 9, 12, 18, and 22. If those worlds all have someone mining, just go down the list until you find a suitable world. Don't worry, you will only have to change worlds once or twice if at all to find an empty world. Second, set your private chat to off. There is a lot of time that you will be able to spend away from the RuneScape window if you follow this routine, and you don't need friends of yours getting angry when you don't respond to their messages. Your chat settings should look like this: Third, you need to make sure that you can hear what is going on even when you are not looking at the RuneScape window. Therefore, turn off the RuneScape music, and turn up the sound effects and area sounds. Your sound setting should look like this: 2) Getting to Shilo Village Now you are ready to head for Shilo Village! But it isn't so easy to get there by walking across Karamja. Instead, use these directions to get to Shilo Village: 3) What to withdraw You only need to withdraw two things, a pick, rune preferably, and a chisel. Also, wearing a glory amulet with at least 1 charge can help you mine the gem rocks much faster, so it is a good idea to withdraw one of them as well. 4) What to do! So... now you have a pick, you have a chisel, you made it all the way to the Shilo gem mine. But what now? This part of the guide will tell you exacly how this method of mining works. The basic routine: 1. Click on a gem rock. Wait until you hear your pickaxe hitting it to confirm that you are mining it, and then switch to another window to browse the Tip.It forums, because it might take a while to mine each rock. 2. Repeat mining until you have mined all the rocks. I usually follow this pattern: 3. Head back to the first rock. By now, it should be glowing again. Repeat steps 1-3 until you have a full inventory of gems. 4. Cut all your gems. First, click on gem #1. Then double-click your chisel. Next, click on gem #2 and gem #3. Again double-click on your chisel. Continue until all of your gems are cut. Some of them may have been crushed, just drop all the crushed gemstone in your inventory. 5. Now, turn your gems into bolt-tips for a little fletching experience. Also, turning your gems into bolt tips requires you to bank less often, as they stack in your inventory. You may want to keep some of the regular gems for different uses, but definately turn all the Shilo gems into bolt tips. Personally, I like to keep emeralds, rubies, and diamonds, but its up to you if you even keep any. You probably want to move any gems that you keep to the bottom rows to get them out of the way. Remember, if you do keep some gems, bank once in a while. I usually bank when 2 and a half rows in my inventory have been filled with gems that I keep. 6. Repeat steps 1-5 until you have reached you level goals. Now, this way of leveling may be a bit slower than other methods, but I find it really fun, because you get to read the forums at the same time, something that usually I can't do while I play RuneScape. Special thanks go to these people for helping with this guide or suggesting things to add: tzone92 superfly_rix * I'm not sure if the fletching level is required to make bolt tips. I couldn't find the fletching level required for chiseling bolt tips anywhere on the 'Net, but that is the listed level requirement for fletching the bolts.
  24. My name is Andrew, I assume you all know who I share a name with.
  25. #-o I should've made steel chainbody and steel warhammer, for the best bonuses vs. plate and scimitar #-o
